First time adopting here...Well here goes:
I would like to adopt!
Number: 3
Picture:

Name: Anjea
Species African Lioness
Personality: Normally Anjea has a nice calm sweet personality. She is very quiet and doesn't speak much. Though when she is very angered, Anjea has a fiery temper and she ends up saying and doing things she regrets later. Due to these character flaws, she wasn't able to make friends as well as other cubs did. Though when she makes a friend she does her best not to push that friend away. She mostly channels her anger out through the hunt, which she is quite skilled at.
Likes: Sunsets, staying up late at night, the hunt, running until her legs can't go any further, and relaxing in the sun.
Dislikes: Rain, getting wet, losing her game, hyenas, flirtatious males (she thinks they are annoying and prefers to be single), and nagging.
Background (Optional, but it gives you a better shot)
Anjea wasn't born as the next alpha female of the pride as her mother would have hoped. No, Anjea's mother was one of the other lionesses that many a tourist or such would overlook when they visited the reserve. Always, their gaze drifted over to the proud alpha male and his alpha lioness. Even though the alpha was her father, as would happen in prides, she too was overlooked.
As a newborn her mother would keep her close and away from prying eyes and hushed whispers. She growled at anyone who came too close to get a look at her baby. She raised Anjea herself without any help from the other lionesses, as they did.
When Anjea was a cub she would stray away from the other cubs who tackled in play and made fast friends. Instead, she would slowly wander over out of the shade, perhaps to chase a small bird or a bug that would come her way. She was considered a social outcast by the cubs and a called a bad influence by the mother lionesses.
One day a younger one of the cubs approached her and playfully tackled her like he had done with his other playmates. In surprise Anjea quickly lashed out him leaving a big tear on his face, that would eventually blind him in the right eye.
Stunned, the cub backed away and started crying loudly. His mother rushed forward at Anjea and bared her teeth. A shadow fell over her and she backed away. It was her father. The alpha.
"What is the meaning of this?" he asked coldly. His gaze never wavering.
The lioness growled,"It's that lioness cub, Anjea." She said Anjea as if her name was a horrific disease,"She has wounded my son."
Anjea's mother rushed to the scene and stood in front of her daughter to defend her," Leave her alone! She's just a child. She probably didn't mean it."
"Anjea is older than this cub. She is at fault for not controlling her actions. This is a punishable offence-", he was cut off by the mother of the injured cub.
"Banish her!" she seethed," One less nuisance to deal with."
Anjea was terrified but never spoke up. Finally her father made a decision,"Since by blood she is my daughter I will not banish her. However I will not treat her as such. She will be treated like any other lioness in the pride. One more incident and she is out," he turned on his heel and stalked away from the scene.
The lioness sneered,"You may have gotten lucky, but trust me,
we'll be watching." She picked up her cub by the scruff and strode away.
Later, Anjea retreated to an old hideout of her's. A smaller, old acacia tree that was easy for her to climb.
Oh what's wrong with me?! I don't get it.... That night she cried herself to sleep.
Years later Anjea grew up into a fine young lioness. Very antsy, she was anxious to start her first hunt. However the normal hunting party was reluctant into letting her join them. Finally, with much persistence she was allowed to tag along the next day. It was then where it would be decided whether she could become a full huntress or not.
In the late evening Anjea was slowly dozing off when she caught the scent of a young zebra.
Probably strayed away from its herd. She yawned and lazily started tracking the scent. Mere practice before her big day. Suddenly she stopped. There. Grazing just beyond the foliage was her zebra. She slouched into the stalking position as her mother had shown her and ever so slowly crept up behind it.
The zebra's ears flicked towards her and stiffened. Its whole body language read one thing :
Danger. It bolted away. Though the sprinting was for naught. Anjea swiftly latched onto the zebra with her sharp claws and bit hard. It came crashing to the ground. The zebra was down. In one smooth motion, Anjea had taken down an animal that would have required careful planning and speed that a group of lionesses provided. She was stunned.
Confused about what to do she leaned over and sniffed it. Her position looked as if she was about to take bite out of the zebra. Unfortunantly one of the scout lionesses found her. After hearing the commotion caused by the zebra, she left to investigate. Her eyes widened, for it was known that after a kill has been made, you feed the pride first, then yourself. Witnessing Anjea bent over the zebra made her run for the rest of her party and the alpha.
No, no it can't be! I just killed it! That's all! Anjea's mind was reeling and she was drenched in cold sweat as the lioness returned with the alpha and a few other lionesses.
"Anjea. I would not have expected this from you," he said with a blank yet hardened stare.
"But, you see! I wasn't going to-" she stuttered. Several lionesses snickered.
The alpha opened his mouth and roared,"SILENCE! Anjea you know the law!"
She tried to reason,"I only killed the thing! Practice! For tomorrow..."
"No excuses," he said,"I recall saying the second time you disrespect the pride you are out. Being the leader I shall stay to my word. EXILE!"
Anjea widened her eyes in horror.
It can't be! It just can't be!The lionesses started towards her in a threatening way. Teeth bared, claws extended. The alpha watched them in a way that can only be described as pleasure. Anjea turned on a dime and ran.
She ran. That's all she did. Farther and farther, away from the pride territory. She didn't think about her father, nor her mother. She didn't think about anything except running. Not once did she stop to hunt. Nor did she pause for water. Two days passed before she slowed and finally came to a stop. Her chest heaving she lay down next to the banks of a small pond and fell asleep.
After being banished from her pride, Anjea created a reputation for herself as a ruthless hunter. She chased water buffalo, wildebeast, antelope, and her favorite, zebra. A rumor whisked around the grasslands that once she took down an adult giraffe. Hyenas stayed their distance for it was also known she despised their kind. This hatred grew from the fact that hyenas would constantly try to take her kill. Many a male lion would seek her out for his own pride. She chased them away. She made a vow she would stay a loner and never have cubs of her own. She would stay a rouge. The mystery of the savannah.
A safari jeep rambled over the tough terrain of the grasslands. A group of tourists inside were constantly snapping pictures of the scenery and the animals. A small girl and her grandmother sat in the last row looking over the back of the jeep. The little girl was still excited from seeing the lion pride just minutes ago. She asked her grandmother if there were any other prides around. The guide informed her that the pride's territory was very large on this particular reserve and they would probably not see another lion for long while.
Suddenly a flicker of movement caught the girl's eye. A large lioness just took down a gazelle. She cried out," Look! Grandma look! There's another lioness! Look how pretty she is! She's way more pretty than the other lionesses we saw."
"Ahhh, that is Anjea." The guide said," she is our special rouge lioness. Takes down anything in her path she does. We suspect she is from the pride we just saw."
The girl tilted her head,"Why is she all alone? Why isn't she with her pride?"
The guide chuckled,"Things happen, I guess. Pride hierarchy. It is unknown to us."
"Well I think she's much better off as a rouge," the girl leaned over and waved to Anjea," She's just to unique to fit in with them!"
And by that time all the other tourists had turned away from what they were doing and looked over at Anjea in awe. Anjea smiled a bit, her eyes laughing.
You too, girl. You too.
