History/Background/Other:
Hellados and Sorbete were very weak when they were born. The only twins in the litter. They did everything together. Being the only twins wasnt their only fault. they were also much smaller than any of the other pups. From a young age they knew their lives woud be different than their brothers or sisters.
One day their mother called them over from playtime. " I want you to know something. but you have to promise not to tell the others." she said in a hushed bark. Hellados looked at his sister with wide eyes. He nodded. Sorbete did the same. Their mother nodded. " ok. were going to leave." she said. Helladose yelped." but mommy! what about the others! Mother hushed them. " they can fend for themselves now Hellados." she said quietly. Sorbete whimpered. " But i dont wanna leave." she yelped. " But we must." Mother said. "the humans are comming. and we cant take all of them." she ruffed. "come on!"
Hellados and Sorbete reluctantly followed their mother. Sorbete turned to take one last glance at the hollow where they had grown up. Seeing her brothers and sisters still there. They had no idea they were being left behind. She turned to Hellados, seeing he couldnt bear to look back, as he trudged onward on heavy paws.
They walked in the woods for several days and nights. Hours after hours, days after days they walked. Mother wouldnt let them rest for fear of these 'Humans'. Finally they came to a stop. "w-where are we?" Hellados panted. Their mother looked tall and proud as she could. " We are home." she said simply. Sorbete looked like she was about to cry. "no were not!" she wailed. "home is far away!"
Mother turned on Sorbete. she snapped and snarled at her. "well this is your home now!" Sorbete shrunk back. She didnt want to upset mother, but to her, this wasnt nor would ever be, home.
Mother ushered Sorbete and Hellados into a clearing. "stay here and dont move." she said threateningly. Hellados watched her bound up a large rock. After several glances at them she gave a blood curdling howl. Sorbete shrunk back at the sound and hid behind Hellados. "what is she doing?" Sorbete whispered. Hellados only answered back with a shrug.
After several more moments, more wolves began slinking out of the darkest crevises and corners of the clearing. They looked savage. Torn ears, missing patches of fur, and throaty growls completed their look. Hellados and Sorbete were trapped in a sea of them. Over the massive bodies they could make out their mother explaining who they were and why they were here.
Mother ushered Sorbe and Hellados into a large cave. "we will live here." she said quietly then turned to the entrance. She gave a threatening look back. "stay put." she snarled then left. "
" we have to get out of here!" Sorbete yelped. "shhh!" growled Hellados. " Dont let mother hear us! now follow me!" Hellados led the way outside of the cave. "almost there..." he growled with effort as he tried to drag Sorbete up the last bit of rock to the free forest. she scraped her hind legs agenst the rock sending a shower of pebbles straight onto mother!
"get them!" Mother howled as she processed what they were doing. Several large wolved began bounding up the rocks tward them. Howling and snarling. "RUN!" Helados yelped to Sorbete. Together they ran. They ran from their past, from their present, and from their lives. They had to get away.
Sorbete and Hellados had bed running for a long time. They were out of breath when they found it. their old hollow. "home!" Sorbete cried. she ran inside with Hellados at her heels. What they saw, was not home. Instead they saw blood, their kins fur caught on training brambles as they desprately tried to escape. This, was no longer home...
The 'Humans' came. They took Sorbete and Hellados to a kennel where a young girl took them home. Now Hellados and Sorbete live in a peaceful world. They will never forget their tragic past. "always remember your kin." is a popular saying of Sorbetes. "even if they have done wrong."
