prompt answer: "Dewfrost will also join the hunting party, goodluck," Palestar's voice's mention of my name wrenched me out of my daydreams and back to reality. I sat up, hoping the despair on my face doesn't show.
I hate hunting. The other hunting party got to hunt at the fields near the river where FieldClan granted us permission to hunt. It's a really far distance to walk through the desert. It's called Desert of a Thousand Lopes after all. The part I'm in have to hunt in the desert. I hate hunting so much, it meant aching and blistering paws for days and burns on your belly from crouching low in the blazing sand. It meant the sun was going to make your head hurt so much, you'd swear it was being split in two. Not to mention the lack of water, and the dangers of taking your apprentice away from the dens and oasis.
I understand the clan needs feeding, and the small area in the fields won't provide enough prey, but it's not like we'll find much more hunting in our own territory.
Not even patrolling is this bad, because we don't walk around and get hurt and only catch two meerkats, though patrolling doesn't make sense either. Who would want to come into our territory? We have nothing to lose
