Number: #3.
Name: Beau.
Species: Red wolf/dingo mix.

Personality: Sharp-witted and devoted, Beau always makes quite an impression when he waltzes into a conversation. With bold eyes the color of spring sky, he has always been hard to ignore since being a puppy, and over the years he has flourished under the attention. While in a miraculous sense he has avoided being burdened with an enormous ego, he does take pride in himself and his personal set of skills. He gets rather shy around most females and withdraws when in their company, beside that of his adoptive sister, Merci. Most of the time, he devotes himself to her happiness and cheer, and does whatever he can to make her smile. This adoration has earned him a ranking among those compassionate and kind, but he has a darker side that not many have laid eyes on and escaped with a rumor. He is capable of violence when it comes down to protecting those he loves; he does not fear blood or gore, and in fact, gets rather sickingly delighted when around it. His main skill in fighting is the speed that he was blessed with as a small mewling pup. With a slim, slender body and long limber legs, he can make great time across open barren land with medium sized paws that support his weight easily wherever he goes. This comes in handy in fights, especially when he is overestimated because of his reputation. Cunning when push comes to shove, Beau can be called impulsive but he normally follows his heart, not his head. This occasionally gets him in trouble, especially when it comes down to his single living sibling, Merci.
Likes: He enjoys traveling, running, galloping, loping; pretty much any motion that conjurs his slender body into movement. Being rather nomadic by nature, he sometimes gets the itch for travel and loves the thrill of it. Secretly, he enjoys fighting a little too much; he always pretends he hates it. He loves his dear mother, Triste, and sister, Merci, and wishes he had more of a future with them both. He enjoys being the leader of his own lonely territory these days due to his dislike of being controlled.
Dislikes: He does not like someone having power over him, and hates the mere idea of disloyalty and betrayal. He always pretends to hate fighting but secretly rejoices in it; he hates strangers speaking rudely or weirdly. He does not generally like things that are very different, and would prefer to have a known schedule then to just meander around. He hates being around females and is usually rather afraid of them or acts shy; he especially hates males being around his siter and normally struts his stuff around to discourage them from being there.

Background: Like all great stories, his begins long before he was born. In fact, Beau's own story begins with his grandfather, a well-known wolf named Tri. He was the leader of a great, flourishing pack on the North American continent, a pack made up of at least eighty members and strong on the abundant prey that bounced along the land. He was very respected, and of course advised by the previous leader of the pack; his own father, an elderly senior now feeble in his older age. He encourage his son day after day to find a noble-born female to breed with and produce heirs for the throne, but Tri continually ignored the words of his father. He hated the feeling of being smothered with control as his father layered upon her, so in respect, he promised on his sire's death bed that he would fetch a mate that even the old hag could be proud of.
Tri searched for many years, expanding his pack into mini-sections that exploded across the land. He had princesses brought to him from packs unrelated, beautiful faes to entice him and seek his side. But Tri bored of them all, finding faults in their perfect fur and velvet faces. He longed for someone different, someone foreign, someone that could blow all the other females paraded in front of him like domestic animals out of the water.
The particular girl came in the sleek form of a French red wolf named Amor. She was a beautiful temptress, with long black hair frosted with deep mahogany red and pale crimson. Gold flakes flickered through her almond eyes and attracted nearly all males to her; but she was determined to find herself a mate she actually enjoyed the company of, and refused many of them in a stubborn mindset. Finally, when she was four years old, she was sent on a mission to meet the distant and untouchable bachelor Tri, the one females would faint over just to be seen by. Stubbornly, Amor trekked across the countries with her head held high, paws clean and pelt immaculate just to meet this male that everybody promised was someone grand.
The day the two met, fireworks exploded. Amor and Tri found an attraction to one another that they could not deny; they bonded like they had been destined to meet, inseperable after mere days. The two helped their shared pack become even greated, encouraging the wolves beneath them to breed and have many litters to support the growing pack. After a few months, Amor discovered she was carrying Tri's litter, and the two celebrated with nearly a world-wide declaration of congratulations.
Disaster struck, however, when Amor delievered the pups. Something went wrong with the pregnancy and not even the alpha's healers could save her. She left the world with a legacy of three daughters; something that not even Tri himself could drudge up to celebrate. Besides losing the love of his life, he now had no male heirs; something that would cause a problem. The alpha was yanked into a depression that withered the stretching vines of his pack and he drove many members away, finally hand-picking close friends of his and Amor's and crawling off into a deep forest to keep his small pack to himself. Many say the once-proud male had been pulled into a deep cavern of sadness that not even his closest family or friends could retrive him back.
His three daughters were thus raised in an environment that provided for them to grow into something indepedent and headstrong. The eldest, Adabelle, was much too proud for her own good and way too vain. She left home much too early then she should have, seeking escape from the black hole of her father. She traveled away with an older male wolf who claimed her as his third mate and none of the family ever say the proud female again. The second daughter was a shy, but verbally bold Thyra had a reputation all across the lands. As she grew older, she became the traveling peacekeeper between all the split devisions of the original pack. But it was the youngest who really left an impression on those who knew and helped to raise her. Triste was the youngest, made up purely of starlight and dreams. She had her head constantly stuck in the cloud, but this protected her when Tri perished. Some say he died of a broken heart, finally poisoned after two years from his true mate's death.
But Triste was shouldered with a responsibility she had never wanted. She became the alpha in place of her father if going in bloodline descendent, and she ended up being forced to talk her way out of the high ranking. She was forced to suffer through the rank for another year, finally convincing the members of the pack to nominate somebody else and let her escape.
So Triste was unburdened, and found herself to be known nearly as famously as her father. She was welcomed nearly wherever she went, and gained friends quickly. Some looked down on her for being nearly four years in age and yet not bearing her first litter; but Triste had gotten the beautiful figure and form of her mother and the stubborn determination to find true love of her father. She sought out the one male to make her heart sing, and tradegy befell her in the near bottom part of North America.
She was seduced by a mysterious stranger who hailed from the far away Africa. He was different then all of the other wolves she had ever met, because, technically, he wasn't one. He had a pelt the warm rich color of the savannah he was borne on, and bright amber eyes that could always curve a smile across her snout. In Alala, the stranger dingo from Africa, Triste thought she finally found the one male who owned her heart.
In Alala's culture, however, so much different then her own, there was no such thing as a single mate. He had merely been playing the young female, figuring that she knew what he was doing. After a passionate six months spent together, he vanished from her side. Triste lived up to her French name and was forced to settle down in a forest near a rich old master's house with a single spoiled dog. She didn't much care for the single man and dog family, but it provided a little protective for her from the nearby feral packs. Throughout the months, she watched the princess domesticated dog in the nearby house grow larger too, also pregnant by some weird parallel context.
Triste delievered a healthy litter, but they had been conceived at an odd time of year and came in the dead of winter, one of the coldest winters the noble had ever seen. She had three children, two sons and a little weak girl, and traveled out one eve to try and collect some scrapping food for her starving pups. That was when she found a tiny ball nestled into the snow that smelled of the inside human cookies and some odd trace of wolf. Curious, Triste claimed the tiny thing in her mouth and dragged her back to her warm den, figuring that she would always feed the tiny thing to her pups if nothing else.
But the puppy awakened as soon as she was placed in a warm place, and Triste gained another pup to her litter that looked nothing like the others. She named the originally stubborn female Merci, and found a fellow determined one in the youngling. The winter months passed by and snagged the lives of two of her pups; but once spring dawned, she allowed herself enough hope to name the final, slim male that had survived the season; Beau.
Seeing as Triste was finished with two pups, the siblings were incredibly close together. Beau was raised in a happy place, with a younger sister he absolutely adored and a mother who supported his every whim. There was no problems in his puphood; he experienced no depression until a few years later.
At about a year old, Beau was filled to the brim on questions about his father. Like most young males who grow up without a present sire, he had many dreams and aspirations for the mysterious "Alala". Triste was reluctant to tell him much about the male, and left vague mistakes that both puzzled and upset Beau. After half a year, he finally declared to his mother and remaining sister that he was going to travel to Africa for a few months to try and track down his father. Triste did not support the foolish idea at all, but Merci, always one for an adventure, encouraged him to set out and find the tribesman.
So Beau left, traveling the land, following directions from random strangers he encountered on the way over. It took him a good three months to even grace the land of Africa with his paws, and he was accepted into the tribe he first met as one of their own. They could see the strong Dingo blood running through his veins in his smaller eyes and bold eyes, and the rich colors blended throughout his fur. In the acceptance ceremony, they dyed a specific pattern across his flank that was supposed to describe his meaning on the world. The elders assured him that, in time, he would understand the icon and what it meant to him.
Beau continued to trek across Africa, now widely accepted by the tattoo on his haunch. Once word got around that he was descended from the great Tri, many villages ushered him into their ranks for a mere touch of his royal blood. He found his father a month into his travels, and was vastly disappointed by the brief, cruel encounter. By the time he got home, to an excited Merci and a worried Triste, he was a completely changed canine. Gone were his puppyhood innocence, replaced by something stronger and more focused. He was now determined, and refused to speak to his small family about the unfair meeting with his ashaming father.
At two years old, Beau declared boldly to his mother that he was planning on leaving. Merci immediately volunteered to accompany him and he could never say no to the beautiful young female. So Triste bid them both goodbye with a small smile and watched the pair set off into their new lives, her own gaze alit with understanding.
Beau claimed a territory relatively close to his mother's but seperate from the house that had birthed Merci. In some bizarre way, he was terrified of her finding her birth mother and deciding she would rather live with those who had bred her rather then the beastly wolves who had taken her in. So he kept his sister close, fostering secret feelings for her that not even she was aware of.
As of now, the pair lives together on the same territory. Beau is slow at starting a pack, because honestly, he wants one with his own adoptive sister, something that is impossible until she actually notices him. There are no other wolves on the land, and the two are currently in a staring, courage contest between each other to see who cracks first to give in to the other. Beau is determined to last. By the end of this season, his younger adoptive sister is going to recognize him as the mate he could be to her. And he is stubborn to make that true.

Other: This is a link to his adoptive sister and pretend girlfriend, Merci.
