Alethea loves to day dream, play games, and make friends. Although Alethea seems like a cute little pet, she has had a dark past...

Alethea paced under the gloomy, antique wood table. This was the exact spot she was born in, and had never moved out. Althea felt tears prickling her eyes as she glanced over at her family members; her mother and newborn sister. 'Why is this happening to us?' Alethea moaned. Her beloved mother and sister were sick. Her father and older siblings were gone. You may be wondering why. Alethea was born on what she called a "Ferret Farm". Similar to a puppy mill, but with ferrets and other rodents. The conditions were horrific, and Alethea believed that the disgustingly moldy food they were scarcely fed was the problem. It was a wonder how many of the ferrets were healthy (looking) enough to be sold.

Alethea caught the sight of orange a few feet away from where she was sitting. "Fire!" She yelled as loud as she possibly could. Ferrets all around her started scurrying; either to see glimpses of the fire or running as fast as possible to get out. Alethea helped her limping mother stand and let her baby sister climb on her back. Alethea started running towards the exit when she saw her mother staggering behind. "Mom! Hurry! The fire's growing!" She called to her mother. Alethea was horrified at what her mother said nest. In a faint, barely audible whisper, Alethea heard her mother say "Go one without me. I can't walk anymore. Save your sister instead." Suddenly her mother collapsed. "Mother!" Alethea sobbed as she ran out of the building. "Mother..." Alethea repeated, crying between breaths.

Alethea was searching for a good shelter when a human hand picked her up. Alethea looked up to see a woman wearing disposable gloves carrying her towards a large crate. She set Alethea and her sister inside, then carried them to a smaller girl that squealed in delight. "They're sooo cute!" she screeched. Alethea's sister moved towards the corner of the crate and slept silently. Alethea felt her eyelids drooping, and finally fell asleep beside her.

I'm afraid that is not quite how this adoption centre works. If you'd like to adopt a pet you'll have to put some effort into writing a history/personality for them or draw them, if possible in a way that shows their personality or perhaps a scene from their life. While you may attempt for multiple characters a round, you'd have to write a form for each of them.

A character thread is your own thread (or site) where you post pictures and information, such as a story, history etc. of your character(s). If you do not have one, simply say -none- or something C;

We will not pm people whether or not they managed to get the character they applied for. You will have to check the code drop on the front page yourself. Winners will be announced on the 14th or 15th.
