Xases has found a new species in an unexplored area of Oscurus! Not much is known about these creatures yet, however two of them have expressed interest in finding new homes! These guys will always be best form/ best art wins.

All that is known about these two is that they are siblings.

Hmm, difficult question, it is such an interesting creature, so it should have an interesting name...
I choose Karanlık Would you like to know why?
Well, the beautiful Drake you are offering is of a dark color palate, this suggests night, blackness, something hidden, it could be evil or beautiful and in this case maybe both. Karanlik itself actually means "Darkness" in Turkish, I would choose Italian naturally but honestly, even Italian couldn't come up with the perfect word. So I decided to choose a language that not many people know. Darkness you could say is like calling a Lion 'Leo' but to me it suggests mystery, I could write any story I want with Karanlik because he has the capability to be what you choose. I liked him over the other Drake because he has this dark coloring, it sets him aside, it gives him an air of evilness, but strangely enough he isn't. It makes it complicated. So in brief for you encase you can't be asked to read through my rambles:
I chose the name Karanlik because it is a unique name that nobody else has. Its meaning implies evilness but I don't have to stick with it, he could be anything but he is under a label of dark and 'evil' and thirdly because everything about him screams to me Karanlik- it really does.

Reason why you want it:
Okay, this could take a while...
I really want him because this, out of all the species I have seen invented on Chicken Smoothie (and there are a lot) I find my self loving this one more than all the others. It is cool, new and different, it is not some wolf covered with armour or some wolf with wings or something like that. It is a whole new design, and frankly it is incredible!
About Karanlik himself for the reason I want him in particular:
I think I will start at the top and work my way down:
- His fine muzzle and snout, it is sharp and yet somehow looks friendly and welcoming, it is a very attractively drawn head shape, it really draws you to look at his eyes.

-His strange wings, I love how they are an even and accurate combination of bat/ dragon- like wings and feathered bird wings, it makes for odd (In a good way) wings that make the beast more interesting to look at than he already is.

-His illustrious mane and tail. At first when I say mane, you may think 'Horse' or 'Lion' but his mane is better then the both, it is at a perfect length, it does not sag and it does not look overly spiky. It looks silky and yet somehow stiffened, it is fascinating and beautiful.

-His long legs, this is just a bonus to me, I have a special spot for any creature with long legs, it just makes this Drake look strong and tall, lithe and long, call me weird but I really, absolutely love long legs on animals, it just makes them look so darn cute!

-His strong and clawed feet WIP, they aren't paws, they aren't hooves, they are a clever sort of thing. They look animalistic, and yet, I feel they could get a human grip onto anything- it was smart to do them as such, I think it makes Karanlik look so intelligent without losing his desirable animal traits.

-His electrifying whiskers, WOW, they are like a dragons' whiskers, they are lovely. I don't know how to say it- they just look cool, especially the color, his color palate is fairly simple and fairly muted, but the electric blue really adds fire to the design.

Will it be used in any kind of story?
Yes, of course, I will use him any time I feel the need to let out my artistic side. There that question was easy

Describe its personality:
Okay, so here goes:

Reserved:
No Karanlik is not shy, he wouldn't back down from something, he isn't scared of contact, but he chooses not to get really into other's businesses. He keeps his head high and his claws clean, he wouldn't be caught dead in somebody else's troubles, he is more of a silent, withdrawn, observant type, he will watch, look for weaknesses, think about what is happening in any scenario. Despite this, he does not keep hidden or invisible, he will go about his business with confidence and keep in sight, he does not hide, he just doesn't intentionally go into socialize with other 'people'.

Somewhat dark:
He has a somewhat dark style of thinking. He is not directly evil, but he does think with an air of blackness, like his name, for example, when faced with a potentially unfriendly creature, he is always thinking on the best way to dispatch and possibly kill his opposition. He is not a kind soul we can say, he does not have a friendly bone, exept for when he is around his sister. He will protect her and is never dark or negative with her. She is all he likes to protect.

Clever:
He is a very smart animal, he is always breaking codes and puzzles in nature and does not often forget things. He can often remember his way through a complicated mazes or routes through where he has been. He is good at picking up things and seeing subtle hints.

Agile:
For such a large beast Karanlik is extremely agile, granted, he does not do well in very small spaces, but in a fight of air or ground, he can easily spin and twist, he almost dances. This makes him a beautiful hunter.

Fighter:
When I say this, I do not mean he is picking fights, I mean he is a survivor, he will outlive any danger if he tries. He will hold on to whatever sanity remains in any situation and use it to his advantage, I guess that ties in with his intelligence, he does not pick fights, as I said, he is very reserved. He is a fighter in the sense of survival.

Slightly Arrogant:
This is a weakness, he is arrogant, he likes to think he is higher then any being he comes across (with exception to his sister), this can be very bad for him, but being himself he chooses not to notice.



Write a short story for your drake:

(I am letting you know now that this is the story of this Karanlik's first flight, I was going to do his history, but I figured I would do that as extra :3 )

The early morning sunlight shone brightly through the stony cave entrance, the tendrils of moss hanging from the roof of the entrance causing the light to dapple onto the surface of the ground into a intricate pattern of blue-grey shadowy shapes. Inside the cave a young Drake was shuffling around with excitement, disturbing the peace that had been there. This Drake's name was Karanlik.
Today was to be Karanlik's first flight and the excitement that the young drake felt was flowing off him in waves of happy bounciness. He danced around his cave prodding his mother every once in a while "C'mon Ma" he would say, nipping her tail or poking her muscular neck "You promised today!" he said. His mother opened a sleepy eye, her eye rolled and she stood wearily, shaking the dreams from her head. Her deep voice rumbled "Yes yes young one" she said. She stretched and stood, her large frame making the cave look smaller "And where is your sister?" she asked with a look of interest, the two were always wandering off. Karanlik looked agitated and impatient "I don't know Ma!" he wailed in annoyance. "Probably out hunting with Fa, that's all she does these days" he complained with a look of jealousy. Karanlik's mother shook her head with a grunt, "You younglings, no respect!" she grumbled, she walked to the lip of their cave, her body brushing the moss delicately. "Being a fine Drake" She started, not waiting for Karanlik to hurry up, "You will have flight in your genes" she continued, her tail twitching from side to side. Karanlik, who had been hesitant, scrambled to join his mother. He was listening, but his young brain only processed half of it, the adrenaline was pumping in his veins and the excitement was too much for him to compute correctly. He was watching the sky, the sound of his mother's voice slowly fading out to the pounding in his ears.
Moments later Karanlik was dismayed to find his mother had finished explaining and had launched her body into the abyss of the open air. He looked scared and his eyes went wide, he stood as close to the edge of the cave as he could, he shuffled and jumped, trying to regain his courage until he spotted his sister flapping towards his mother. Something in Karanlik's mind was stirred How come she's got it? he thought jealously and angrily he leapt into the air, flapping his wings unsteadily at first, just keeping himself in the air. As he warmed up, he found himself able to change direction and move around. His eyes were sparkling now, "Wheeeeeee" he shrieked with joy "Ma! Ma! Look at me!" he cried, he attempted a loop in the sky and came spinning downward. His mother glided smoothly through the air and corrected her young one on his positioning, catching him in her strong talons as he spiralled. She smiled proudly "Yes young one" she bellowed, her voice filling the air. Karanlik screamed with happiness and excitement, his scream being purely animal, it had no speech to it, and turned to glide towards his sister and show off his flight capabilities and found she had landed to watch him. He pretended not to notice her and puffed his chest with self pride. With a final flick of his wings and a dramatic dive he landed next to her. He panted but said nothing, shining in his eyes though, was a single thought :Karanlik had survived his first flight.
