I had been spelunking before. Several times in fact. Each time I happened upon some sort of beast, magnificent, creepy, dreadful, disgusting, name it and I had seen it. This though was one of the few caves I hadn't yet ventured into, that is until the rumors started about people seeing creatures. That was the real reason I entered caves besides the thrill of exploration and the lovely cold and dark atmosphere.
Entering the dark maw of a cave I see movement and I head for it, my curiosity spiking. Suddenly I have to stop, in awe of the magnificent creature before me. He stalks silently towards me, opening his wonderful darkened wings. I don't move though, or flinch. He deserves my respect not a bumbling coward.
"I am he called Ahrax, approach if you seek to bond with me" the low chuckle and his stance reminded me faintly of a vampire, or old Dracula movies I had seen and been fascinated with at a younger age. Of course I wasn't about to mention that to him. I step forward calmly deciding it better to prove myself to him and not anger him. "Ahrax. What a gloriously dark and chilling name." Though my voice is soft I know he will hear me. Better to speak soft and make others strain to listen then be a fool shouting your head off at the world.
I stand there in silence studying him, he really was a dark beast. My kind of friend. "My name, though it does not matter to you, I'm sure, is Trinity." Here I can't help but smile slightly, not many know my name. "Though others call me 'The Forsaken. due to my job and nature."
I'm sure he doesn't care at all. Such a dragon as himself shouldn't care for me or the happenings of much smaller beings than himself. I'm humbled even to be having the opportunity to speak with such a creature. He deserves far better than a cave on the side of a mountain. Much grander things. He'd be a wonderful companion in my quest. Most creatures don't like me because of my dark nature, they believe in peace and light, blah blah. Darkness is my realm and this wonderful dragon resides in the real of darkness, I can see it in his every movement.
Boldly I meet his yellow gaze with my own cold blue eyes. I shouldn't ever begin to ask, but asking is all I can do. He is glorious, a proud creature of dark ambition and nightmares. Respect is in my every move, He deserves no less. "Bold and great Ahrax, I can only request a bond with you. I'd be honored to have you at my side." As I say this I kneel to him as was proper in mine own culture. My head bowed and lowered I go silent unable to stop picturing him in my mind. The image of him possibly forever imprinted there.
My, having a dark friend, no, ally such as him would only help further my plots and he would be rewarded just as well as I. Power would be restored to my people and he would be honored and stories told in my tribe for centuries to come. They'd practically worship him as a god knowing them. And of course,
He deserved no less.
