Bia is an antisocial spoiled brat. Previously, she was very happy and inviting, but after her people shunned her, she became shy and quiet. Bia now rarely smiles and is very grumpy. Bia is easily angered and could be triggered by a single brush of the shoulder. Bia misses her family, but fears that going back to the castle will cause havoc. Bia will still use her power as princess to get into places that would be inaccessible without her rank as princess. She bribes the people who check her identity and tells them not to tell anyone of her appearance.

Image
Bia was an Egyptian princess who was to be crowned queen at the age of 16. Her kingdom didn't want her to be queen and she wasn't accepted as an Egyptian queen. There were riots and protests against her becoming queen. She was hated by all besides her parents and servants. Because of this, her happy, optimistic, and peppy personality changed into a bitter one. She became very rude to her servants and would even go so far as locking herself in her room because she felt worthless. She didn't eat much during that time. Finally, she decided to runaway from her duties as the heir, and, essentially, left Egypt without an heir. The king hired Kalons to search for his daughter, but, after five years of searching, still had nothing. Bia had found an alleyway, in which she made her home. Bia got money, food, water, clothes, etc. by stealing from people, since she didn't know how to do things on her own and didn't know how to do many essential things. Bia lived life happily, alone. Social interactions make Bia stress and she will often avoid people because of this. Bia is now unrecognizable because of the stress of the real world.

Marble Goddess

Esmerelda

╚═══════╝
╔════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗
Personality
304 words
That really depends on who you are, on what you think. Esmerelda, to many,
is cold as the marble statues that have been built in her honor and as reclusive
as a bear in winter. She is seen as arrogant by the general populace. Those who
watch her ride by, high and mighty in her palanquin, think of her as unfeeling:
a selfish stone goddess living behind a curtain.

Esmerelda, of course, has many admirers as well. Our Baroness Esmerelda is
beautiful, they say, a ballerina who walks the earth with her feet barely dancing
across the ground; she is untouchable, a god among men. She is resplendent in her
jewels and her colorful silks, they say.

There are, however, very few to truly know Esmerelda. Her husband, Baron Isaac
(not a real Kalon, FYI) married her for her looks; she accepted his proposal simply
because he had money. Isaac hardly knows his wife. He sees her only with makeup
on, jewels glowing, face of stone displayed, heart buried deep inside. Isaac sees
Esmerelda as the public sees her: a living statue. He, however, knows there is
something buried deep down. Some love, some heart that she has repressed.

Now this sounds strange, but Esmerelda’s main lady-in-waiting is the only one who
truly knows her. She, Miss Ann (another made-up Kalon, just so you know), is the
single Kalon who can see all of Esmerelda’s being. She sees the cold stone of the
woman, yes, but she also sees so much more. Ann is privy to Esmerelda’s tragedies;
Ann is the only one to have ever heard the stone goddess cry. She hears her laugh,
sees her smile, sees her with her makeup off. Ann knows the true Esmerelda: the
insecure, the intelligent, the vulgar, the reckless, the melancholy, the human.

History
300 words
I remember the shouts of merchants selling trinkets and jewels, silks and spices;
I remember the crashing of the ocean against the tall rocky cliffs; I remember
the cramped but cozy house my family lived in, five stories above the
pandemonium of the market; I remember playing with my brother and helping my
father cook; I remember getting letters from my mother, the adventurer, when she
was off somewhere far away and I remember treasuring every piece of inked
parchment she sent me.

I was a happy little girl. Poor, but happy, and beautiful too. Smart as they come,
but no one cared because a girl’s intelligence doesn’t matter. Not where I came
from, anyhow.

My brother grew up into a strong man. Not smart, not a writer, not an artist or actor
or singer, but he was strong. He joined the royal guard, and for all I know, he’s still
part of it. My father stayed where he was, living in a busy city, a merchant as the
husband of a traveler. Real love. I wanted that real love. I could never find it, though,
not in my homeland.

Just a few years ago, I got on a boat. Said goodbye to my father, set out to look for
adventure and love. Mostly the latter.

I wandered into the capital city of this new nation, and I can’t remember much of what
happened. I scraped by with smarts and beauty, even though I didn’t speak the language.
I found myself tied by marriage to a baron. He had money, I reasoned; he can get me
places.

So, off I went, a foolish maiden turned to a marble goddess. I still have a heart on the
inside. I still want to find that real love. I still want an adventure.

Extra (story)
499 words (I had to cut this down from 1,000+ words, and I'm sorry that it's bad)
Ann comes into my chambers. She carries beauty on her face, intelligence in her eyes,
hope in her steps.

Pushing my books aside, I stand. The moon’s cool light manifests itself as a beam on the
floor; it stretches between us. The air feels almost tense, like a muscle that’s been pulled
too far.

My Ann comes over to me; she curtsies. She does not step over the barrier the moonbeam
has created. She is beautiful—golden locks, warm fabric hanging from her dainty form. Ann
is the sun; I am the moon. I look away.

I take careful, silent steps across the marble. The floor tiles are cold stone, like the cold
goddess who walks upon them. The moonbeam barrier stands unbroken, and I say nothing,
hovering just in front of Ann. There is tension here. It buzzes near us: out of sight but not
out of mind.

We stand there for painful, dragging moments. We do not speak. We do not break the
barrier.

“Um, good evening,” Ann says. Her voice is anxious, girlish, bubbly.

“My Ann,” I say, a warm greeting that sounds cold on my lips.

“It’s a beautiful night, your Ladyship,” Ann murmurs.

I murmur: “hmm.”. Is she incapable of using my real name?

“My lady,” she tries, then: “Baroness.” Ann doesn’t move.

I don’t know what it is, but something in this remark, I just…dear God, I’m crying.
Tears dribble down my cheeks, embarrassing rivers on my skin; a lump rises in my
throat. I can feel my marble facade eroding.

“My…your Grace?”

“That’s a duke’s title.” I freeze the lump in the back of my mouth. It shall not
escape. “And besides, Ann, for God’s sake, haven’t you known me long enough,”
please don’t break, Esmerelda, please, “Haven’t you known me long enough to
use my real name? Don’t you love me? Don’t you care?”

“I,” she takes a step back, putting herself back in the shadows. “Of course I love
you, your Ladyship.”

I dig my feet into the floor, and stupid recklessness washes over me. I rip off my
headpiece and I fling it into the center of the moon barrier; no one goes to grab
it. “Look at me!” I shout. My voice has shattered into a wail. “Look at me, Ann,
just look at me! I’m Esmerelda. Look at me and tell me—” my voice breaks, “that
you love me. That you can love me.”

Ann looks away. “That’s what I thought. Get out! Out of my room, out of my life!”

The sun races away out the door, skirts flaring out behind her. Sobs echo in the
halls.

“Ann, wait!” Please don’t cry. I love you. Don’t cry.

I take a great step forward, shattering the moonbeam barrier. I am bathed in pale
light, disgraced and ugly. No wonder such a shining, sunlike girl despises me.

I stare up out the window and at the moon. It glows upon me, beautiful and cold
as stone.

Personality: Anya expects no less than perfection from everyone and everything. She uses cruelty to hide her uncertainties, and very rarely talks to people she thinks lesser of. She expects to be treated by a queen and usually is, because she is very scary of course and nobody dares object her wishes and expectations. The royalty at an early age spoiled her.

Name:
Ta-er al-Usfar

Meaning:
yellow bird

Nickname:
Little bird, Tari

Gender:
Female

Likes:
Freedom, the Ocean, Wind

Dislikes:
Royals, Sand, Heat

Personality:
Tari is a bright girl with a free spirit, she dreams of one day flying high and free. She dreams of being free from her obligations and her prison. But there is also a small part of her that fears the unknown, she fears leaving the confines of everyday routine and creating her own path. She can be a very cunning and even manipulative Kalon but that is because of her past and the need for secrecy in order to stay alive.

Brief History: I kinda had to go over 300 words in order to tell everything. Hope that is alright.
Tari's mother was one of the most renowned Priestess across the Middle Lands, so Egypt wished to make her theirs. In order to stave off a war Tar's mother was given as a gift to Egypt and became their most prized possession. Tari's mother was with child when this all happened and only a few short months later Ta-er al-Usfar was born. Tari's mother knew that her daughter would be well protected in the palace but only if Tari could harness The Sight. Tari grew up protected by the fame of her mother but when she came to the age where she should have gotten her powers they never came. So fearing her daughters life Tari's mother began to teach her ways to deceive the royals who craved The Sight.

After years of training in deception Tari's mother died, leaving her daughter to become The High Priestess of Egypt... a title that Tari knew she didn't deserve but in order to survive she must continue to live a lie. But after many fake prophecies and readings she anger began to fill her slowly, anger about the life that she never had... a life that she could have. So she began to plan her escape, the plan had to be elaborate in order to work because the royals were not going to let her go without a fight and if she were caught she feared what they would do to her, or the small yellow canary she called her own.

A few months later her plan was finally ready and with her canary free of it's cage she ran, her plan went off without a hitch until a guard was not where he should have been and the chase was on. She ran towards the only place she would feel free if she got away, she ran to the water to the river that ran through the city. She lost the guards in the folds of the crowd, sneaking onto a small ship and praying noone would find her.

The ship took her to another dock, this one leading to the ocean. But her freedom was still being tested, the guards had sent word to look for her and soon she was once again being chased. She dove through the crowds onto another ship this one being led by pirates, that is how she went from being a Princess to being a Pirate. She still keeps the headdress that her mother had fashioned for her, as a memory to never let herself become a prisoner again.

Extras
The Captain of the ship was kind... which surprised the young kalon who stood on the deck of the pirate ship. The captain had given her sanctuary and a way to travel the world as part of her crew. It had been about a week since her escape from Egypt and the ship was carrying them South, towards an island that the pirates called home. Even though the pirates were accepting of their new crew member... well as long as she pulled her weight, there was something that was holding Tari back. Closing her eyes she felt her black hair being pulled backwards as the wind pushed it away from her face, this is what it meant to feel free. This feeling is what she could only describe as flying but without the wings. Flight... wings, that was what she was missing. A small hole in her heart where her little Tecu once called home, the small yellow canary that was once imprisoned along with her. She hoped that the little bird had made it out of the palace and into the open air.

Opening her eyes she saw the island coming into view, the small sliver of green slowly becoming a large forest of all different shades."Wow... it's huge..." she whispered, her eyes bright as she felt a presence beside her. "This is home... a safe haven that we pirates call home. Many think of us as savages, stealing from ships and towns in our path. But we are only doing what we can to survive. This island follows rules that are set in place to protect us all, whatever rivalries are between two ships stays on the sea. I will teach you these rules and I hope you follow them." The Captain said, her eyes locked on Tari as she spoke. "I will do my best not to let you down Captain." she replied and with a nod the other female left. It was then that she noticed a small shadow flitting back and forth beside her and to her astonishment there stood the little yellow canary.

"Here's to our new lives Tecu." she said picking up her little companion and placing the chirping creature on her shoulder.
