Coolio, and thanks guys!
The genetics info, yeah, is confusing, but it's not required to know genetics in order to adopt them. There will be a genetic genetic consequence, however, which is by breeding two merled dogs together you will produce deaf or blind pups as a result. I'm not familiar with other consequences like this, other than if there was a hairless/haired version, but there is not.
But just ignore all of that tbh if you'd here for the colors, since not everyone wants to play with genetics :P
As for the artists, I won't be having artists join me for regular adoptions, most likely, simply because I want to make sure that they completely understand the genetics and how to apply them to the colors available. Customs artists I may end up hiring.

I love the idea of this. I had a similar idea a while ago of involving genotypes instead of phenotypes in breeding and such, but unfortunately developing a species like that takes a lot of time, patience, and being backed by other people. I also didn't have set lines for it yet. I hope this is successful and you don't put it in hiatus like many other adopts I like have started doing, it's really, very interesting and i cant wait to see what becomes of it!

Thanks both of you! And yeah, I've been wanting to do one of these like this for a while.
If you guys want, you can string together random genetic information (14 pairs of 'genes' on the list) and I could show you how they'd look ;P
Edit: I have all of the markings laid out on layers, so literally it's just checking and unchecking layers and editing color to get what I need ovo

I'll need to do that, lemme go read up on the genes a little more seriously to see what I'm dealing with.
Hows... this?

Also, I see a lot of this is cat-genetic inspired. I'm actually a feline geneticist student :P it's really cool that I can recognize some of this stuff!
