[ Tracker Dog Application Series 7 ]

[ Username ]
Autumn.Zephyr

[ Desired Tracker Dog ]
Number 22

[ Name ]
Sternam
A sophisticated way for his handler to the word, “stern,” in the Tracker's name, as the trainers back at the facility had to be stern with Sternam to produce the desired results.

[ Reason of Desire ]
I have long wished to own a Tracker Dog, as their popularity stretched throughout the realm of Chicken Smoothie., but I discovered them too late—or so I thought. Now, however, I am happy to have found that Nex has decided to continue with a new version of Trackers. ^^;
I was originally going to apply for one of the recent available Trackers, but I hadn't any idea where to go with her background. So, I decided to think up the basis of a history and wait until I saw a Tracker that fit my story. I didn't have to wait long.
I am really in love with this brother and sister pair, and though I admire the sister's markings, Sternam is just what I was looking for: His coloring and markings are perfect—he, is perfect. <3
I hope that whomever wins Sternam's sister will be willing to do some private role play with me and to allow me to order art of the two of them together.

[ Will it be used in any kind of story? ]
Yes, I presume so; however, it will most likely be only for my own enjoyment. When I can, I will credit Nex.

[ Personality ]
>>> Friendly & Humanitarian <<<
Having been created by and for humans, Sternam has a deep fondness for the people of Earth. Unless he is told or he instinctively knows that an individual is a foe, he is well-disposed to think that everyone he meets is a friend and ally. Well-aware that his missions revolve around tracking criminals down, Sternam knows there are good people in Empire City. Needless to say, Sternam is deeply suspicious of the Orthanka, who have come to “help keep the peace.”

>>> Honest & Loyal <<<
Sternam takes his job seriously—protecting the innocent and oppressed is his top priority. He is always sincere in what he does and profoundly loyal to his handler, Torson. Once you've gained the friendship of Sternam you will always have it.

>>> Original & Inventive <<<
Every villain is different and will fall prey to antithetic tactics; this Tracker loves to mix it up and catch his prey by surprise. There is so much more thrill in life when one takes the path less traveled.

>>> Independent & Intellectual <<<
Sternam is one to watch-out for others and he does so in whatever ways he can. Oftentimes, Sternam will take the lead in a situation and deal with it [ solve the problem ] with efficiency and high intelligence. To have vast knowledge and be unable to put it to good use would inhibit Sternam greatly, which is why Torson allows the Tracker leeway in this area.

>>> Intractable & Contrary <<<
Despite the loyalty between Tracker and handler, Sternam can be stubborn in his opinions. As a puppy in the training facility, Sternam was worked to eliminate these attributes; however, they were not completely eradicated. Torson notes that, on the positive side, Sternam's judgment is rarely faulty; thus, head-to-head clashes are nil.

>>> Unemotional & Detached <<<
When situations become too intense for Sternam, he turns stolid and seems to disengage his emotions from his work. Without fail, he will follow through with the mission if encouraged by Torson.

>>><<<>>><<<

Everyone has faults and being aware and honest about such traits brings more cohesion to the Sternam/Torson team. A team should be familiar with both the positive and negative attributes of each other.
If you were the victim of a kidnapping, wouldn't you want an intelligent Tracker who knew all the tricks in tracking your captor? One who was loyal and determined to recover you? One who was friendly and overjoyed when he discovered you?
Give Torson and Sternam a call.

[ Introduction for desired Tracker Dog ]
Empire City. 2027.

Some call it “Gotham,” others, “City of Darkness.” Me? I call it, “home.”

Empire City has no “Batman”—it has the U.S.A. Union Security Agents. Similar the local police—even the feds, they are much stronger, and much more powerful. They keep the general civilian populace safe from every sort of crime. Only recently, the U.S.A. has been deployed in Empire City, as the quantity and magnitude of heinous acts has steadily increased. Three out of every five people in Empire City are involved in illegal activity—and we're here to end that.

>>><<<>>><<<

Bzzzz. Bzzzz. Bz—WHACK! A quick jerk and slam shoved the alarm clock off the smooth steel bedside table, causing it to crash onto the floor. The dog-like creature lying on a cushion at the end of the bed raised his head, cocking it to the side as the alarm clock lay just in front of him and projected blinking, red numerals across the ceiling. With a large, expressive yawn, the dog's giraffe-like, green tongue extended unimaginably farther. From under the pale blue/gray covers, typical male homo-sapien grunting and mumbling could be heard.

This was the same, repetitive pattern that had occurred since Torson and Sternam were teamed together. The alarm clock would sound-off in its blaring and galling manner, Torson would reflexively smack the thing, causing it to fly across the room, and Sternam would have to find a new way to awaken his handler. As tiresome as this routine sounded, Sternam thoroughly enjoyed it.

Stepping lightly, and with great balance, the monstrous creature positioned himself over Torson, the metal springs protesting under the added pressure. Torson shifted in his sleep, turning his face to the ceiling. Soft snores resumed and Sternam bent his head lower, letting his pendalum tongue swing gently over Torson's head—like little, salt waves on the shore of a sandy beach. Back and forth, back and forth. Slowly, those gray eyes blinked open and with sudden realization a yell burst out of Torson's mouth accompanied with a distinctly dragon-ish breath that made Sternam's nose wrinkle. With head turned innocently to the side, green tongue lolling out of his mouth, the dog offered a playful bark. Torson, still wide-eyed and wrapped oddly around the bar of the metal headboard, relaxed, sinking down onto the cold floor.
Oh, you're very clever, Sternie. Thanks for that.

Little did Torson know that such contact with his companion would increase his immunity to the virus lurking within the Orthanka. . .

>>><<<>>><<<

What have ya' got for us today, Laen?
Torson appeared at the U.S.A. Headquarters, just two blocks for the small apartment that he and Sternam shared, a little disheveled and sleepy—quite the opposite of of the large tri-colored Tracker that bounded over to the Mission's Coordinator, Laen. It wouldn't be until about noon that Torson would be at the top of his game.

Good morning, to you too, Torson.” Laen said without a glance, handing him a think manilla folder stuffed as neatly as possible with small-print papers. “Can't you be as lively as Sternam in the mornings?

Only if I was inebriated.
Torson joked lightly, his gray eyes searching for any type of reaction to break the smooth, flawless composure of her angular face, but saw none. Turning to the weighty stack of papers, he commented, “I didn't know we had 'old-school' records left.

We do.
Laen answered simply, looking up from behind her square lenses as she tucked a runaway strand of dirty blond hair behind her ear before continuing her work.

Sternam, who had been listening intently to the tonicity of Torson's voice, noticed its edge, a leading tonal quality that lingered even after the words had dissipated. Torson was fishing for Laen again. Sternam like Laen, but it was apparent that she wasn't interested in Torson. A long sigh escaped Sternam's nostrils, relaying to his handler that he wished to get started on a job.

With speed, Torson scanned the many pages for the most dire case he could find.

I think music is about our internal life.
It's part of the way people touch each other.
That's very precious to me. And astronomy is,
in a sense, the very opposite thing. Instead of
looking inwards, you are looking out, to things
beyond our grasp.

Will you still judge the form if the intro/chapter one of the story is a WIP?

No no no, your art was lovely. C: Congrats on the tracker by the way.
I just get side-tracked easily, and then started thinking about goats. One thing led to another and Ora soon had a beard.
