Name [of pet]: Edelweiss
Gender [of pet]: Female
Breed/Species [of pet]: Alpine Wolf
Personality [of pet]:|Introvert|
Edelweiss is a severe introvert-her interaction with strangers is limited, at best, to a 'please' or 'thank you' or 'excuse me.' Mostly she'll go out of her way to avoid others. She has one or two good friends, and is perfectly content with never making more. In most public places she'll hang on the fringes-when interaction is impossible to avoid, she's liable to clam up.
Loyal
To the few friends she does have, Edelweiss is completely loyal. For them, she would do anything, even if it made her uncomfortable. She trusts those she knows, but they must always be careful not to take advantage of her.
Responsible
Edelweiss takes responsibility extremely seriously. If something she played a part in goes wrong or does damage, she'll own up to it imediately. She takes all jobs given to her seriously, and she will always do her best. She follows any rule that exists, and will always have her work done in the time required, even if it means logging serious hours.
Sympathetic
A very caring person, it isn't hard for Edelweiss to put herself in someone else's shoes-even if she doesn't like being near others. A good listener, she always seems to pick up on whatever is distressing or depressing someone else. Once she knows the problem, she'll try her best to fix it, no matter the cost to herself. While she shyster away from volunteer work, she will donate any supplies or money to help those in need.
Kind
Edelweiss is a most compassionate soul, willing to do whatever is necessary for anyone less fortunate. On the rare times that she does go out with her friends, she is liable to give away her scarf, coat, even her shoes.
Background/History [of pet]:The shared den was a crowded, noisy place. The other pups scrabbled over one another and their mothers, yipping and howling in excitement as they played their games.
One smaller pup remained by her mother's side, the only survivor of her litter. Named for the small white flowers that grew in the mountains of their home, Edelweiss was cripplingly shy. Another youngster had but to look her direction and she would flee, hiding behind the solid barrier of her mother's body.
The others quickly marked her as strange, and moved on. Before long, the rest of the pack had done the same. Her mother stayed as long as she could, but before too long Edelweiss began to tire of any company, even the once loved presence of her mother.
At the age of one, she had severed all ties with any sort of community, choosing instead to live the hermitic live of an introvert. Her skills were lacking, and after six months on her own she was forced to make a foray into civilization once more.
By the age of two she had slowly recovered enough that she could stand living in the city, though she much preferred the solitude of her den on the outskirts, and made forays into its heart only when there was no other choice. It was on one such foray that she met Nihil, who eventually became one of the few she could rely on.
By the age of three, Edelweiss has made two other close friends, Lukas and Sumi, and is becoming gradually closer to Nihil. She is also beginning to overcome her more introverted tendencies, though she'll never feel comfortable in crowds.
Use [for pet]: I feel that Edelweiss would make a wonderful character for a story of mine-she's exactly what is needed to tie it together.
