I looked up female cardinals and kept getting the bright red ones.

And the bird ones partner is based off this moth

<3 Its not very common female cardinals are born red due to the male cardinals killing them for territory. It can totally be a thing but that is once in every 10 thousand nests.

Sorry, I am a weird bird freak and anything bird catches my attention ;;

Also if it isn't a weird question- and strictly for drawing reasons, can i ask what the red/white lines are on the both of those stalkers? is that to represent their fur/feathers?

But joking aside you do know there's a MALE stalker based off a Calico that is a FEMALE ONLY kind of cat? Just Becuse it's the male colours in a female stalker line doesn't mean anything but that the artist felt the female suited it better.

Heck for all you know the “male” is like Tilly a female with her frill down when this started I uset to make a female with the frill and a version of it lowered so the use could user could use eather.

Tilly has her ref with it down Becuse when she was made there was no gender difference，when it was clear people wanted something to tell males from females and the frill was added i felt that it looked strange with her. So that lady's and gents is why Tilly，though female has no frill in her ref.
