𝓅𝓇𝒾𝓃𝒸𝑒𝓈𝓈 𝑔𝒶𝓁𝒶𝒸𝓉𝒾𝒸𝒶

galactica, unlike most sylvan, lived alone in the harsh mountains' snow. the cliffs were dangerous to trek and the land was very uneven. at such a high altitude it could even become hard to breathe.
she had a hard time searching for food because of this during her early years, but her parents had abandoned her and she had nowhere to live but her tiny cave system in the mountains.
for the most part, galactica lived off of nuts and the ever so spotty avian she found. she would stock up on nuts and seeds in the summer when it was just a little bit warmer and keep them in her den stashed away. this is also where she kept medical supplies such as herbs and plants.
while living in the snowy mountains was difficult, it did have its perks- she had just yet to find them so far.
so in the dead of winter there was galactica, hiking up her mountain to get back to her den with a mouthful of nuts for dinner. it was dark and cold outside, colder than where your average pip would live, even. but it seemed after awhile that galactica could not find her little cave home.
worried, she began to climb the mountain up and down and side to side, trekking for what felt like hours in the snow just to find her home. but where she ended up was not her home, in fact, galactica soon found herself nearing the very top of the mountain.
clearing the last few slopes, she hopped up onto the mountain top and looked around, setting down the nuts she had gathered. galactica has never been so far up away from her home, and so she found herself staring at the sky. something about it was strange, like it was calling to her.
suddenly, a bright light shone in it, and a flash appeared. galactica shut her eyes tight from the flash, and slowly opened them.
above her was none other than the aurora borealis, the nothern lights! her jaw dropped as she stared into the sky, steam coming out of her mouth as she breathed cold air.
"wow..." she murmured with a smile. perhaps getting lost had its good parts...
and thats when she noticed her paws beginning to sparkle. her tail too! galactica blinked and got up from the ground, circling around a few times as she noticed tiny stars and sparkles appearing on her wings and body.
the northern lights must have granted her these stars, she thought, for showing her bravery and courage when climbing up the mountain!
galactica took a few more moments to stare at the sky and take in the beauty, then grabbed her food and began back down the mountain. she had earned her title now... princess galactica of the northern lights!

We have decided to extend the writing contest to February 20th due to lack of entries! This will be the only extension we give so if no other entries appear then we're just giving out prizes based on whoever entered! All skill levels are welcomed!
