Reason for wanting one:

I've been wanting one for a while to place in my stories - they're an amazing species, and I fell in love with them the first time I saw them - but I've been very busy and just haven't found time to fill out a form, nor one that I truly connected with. I love Solstice's design and personality; it seems really quite sweet.

What will it be used for?

Like all of my characters, it would go in my art and stories, and would sporadically find itself on my homework in the form of doodles. It amuses my professors, at any rate.

Describe your Somnei:

Solstice is a shy one, especially during the fall and spring, when very few wish for snow. It enjoys summer and winter, though, when it can please those who want to temporarily escape the heat or avoid going to school with just a little tinkering with the dream's mechanics. A very gentle Somnei, Solstice just wants to make its dreamers happy, so that they won't shove it out of their minds and wake up on him.

Write a short story for your Somnei:

Dreariness.... there were dead trees and iced-over puddles and lakes. It had to be a winter dream, there was no others that had such a punishing atmosphere. A kid was walking down the path... Solstice noticed them immediately. There was something... off... about them, but the visiting creature couldn't place it. Instead, it looked at the ground, tapping a clawed paw against the iced-over ground. It knew what the world needed.

Slowly at first, it started to snow. Then, all at once, it became a thick blizzard, pummeling the landscape - except for a small circle where the kid stood, staring at his surroundings. He screamed happily and dove into the growing snowdrifts, tossing his backpack aside as if it had the plague.

Solstice smiled, climbing onto a low branch of a nearby tree to watch, wondering what else would make the boy happy.

Reason for wanting one:
I saw this species and fell in love with them! I am always on the prowl for adoptales that i connect with and love and there aren't many species that really catch my attention. They have such a unique design and this Somnei actually connects to my personality. (Loves the cold/snow and is a loner except to friends). I also love the coloration on Hielo. The species as a whole is somthing to wonder at.

What will it be used for?
Hielo will definantly be used for my wild imagination and for my random doodles throughout the day. I might even write little stories about it. I'll also get plenty of art done for Hielo. It wont be forgotten!

Describe your Somnei:
Hielo is more of a loner, finding enjoyment in life by itself. It is also very imaginitive, and has a wild imagination (which means it is never bored, even when alone). You can find him making pictures in the snow. Even if Hielo is a loner, it finds joy in its close friends, and is loyal to them to no end. Hielo also loves the cold, and everything about it. It would rather be in the snow blown regions verses palces like hot and sticky jungles. Overall, it enjoys life and the joy of the snow.

Hielo gazed out at the barren desert landscape that inhabited some young girls dream and snorted in disgust. It was hot and dry. With a determined growl the dreamscape suddenly morphed. Desert hills became snow piles and the surrounding land became trees made with ice. The temperature began to drop as well. Hielo gazed out at its creation and decided somthing was missing. It swiftly summound snow, which seemed to dance and shape itself into various designs until reaching the ground. A satisfied Hielo gazed out at the hills from behind a tree, searching for the child who this dream belonged too.

"I like this alot better than the blazing heat," Said a voice from behind him, "Thank you."

Hielo spun around and became face to face with a young girl who was beaming happily as she gazed around her new dream. Surprised and cautious of the stranger, Hielo backed up a bit.

"Please dont go," The girl said, "I love what you did, really...Sorry if i scared you... Your the most beautiful Somnei i have ever seen."

Hielo hesitated, surprised and out of curiousity, remained. It had never been greeted in such a manner before, and it had some off compulsion to talk to this stranger.

"Im Willow," The girl said. "It's nice to meet you."

Hielo dipped his head, remaing quite. Suddenly he noticed that Willow was beginning to fade, she was waking up!

Willow must of noticed it too because she said, "Please tell me your name? And will i see you again?"

Hielo flicked its tail nervously but said, "Yes, and my name is Hielo."

He saw the girl smile as she dissapered... Hielo sighed. It had to admit that this was the first dreamer to ever approach it, and he did need a friend... So why not? Something told it that this girl might be the partner it was looking for. So, with a decisive nodd, Hielo bounded off and vanished into the snow, knowing that it would be back the next time Willow dreamed.

This Somnei was born from a dreamer who loved the ocean and longed to be a part of it all. It tends to be rather aloof and mysterious, and its movements are very fluid, like the sea. A peaceful creature at heart, it loves to create beautiful beach scenes to relax dreamers and allow them to rest peacefully.

These creatures are so beautiful! ;-; The way they go around spreading positive dreams is just so awesome. I have tons of dreams (not all of them are good and I don't remember them all but I digress. :3 ) and these guys are just... GAH. I can't explain it. >.< One word for me; PERFECT. Really, I mean, come on now. Little tiny dragon like creatures who go around laying eggs in your dreams, and every once in awhile a corrupt one is born? G-E-N-I-U-S.

What will it be used for? Drawing it of course~ As well as potentially RPing it and I'm gonna put it in my signature at some point when I get a headshot made up.

Atlantia is more of a drifter. She can be social when she's fairly comfortable, but when she's not, she'll slip away and move on. She's almost constantly moving from place to place, never staying in one place for too long. She is flighty and skittish, but at the same time, she's extremely loyal. Atlantia is cautious and never leaps without thinking.

Veuve Noir, black widow. I apologize if this is out of place, however I believe it's a big part of his identity, [I realize he technically has no gender, but I'll refer to Veuve as a him.]and I think that his personal quote would be "Perhaps life is just that... a dream and a fear."

Reason for wanting one:

When I saw him, I really couldn't resist. He's exactly the type of character I want to keep with me, doodle in the margins of my school papers, develop and create colorful stories about, and express myself through. As a hobbyist artist, I like to have around three or four very close characters to love and cherish forever, each one very diverse for the other. It helps me keep an open mind, which I love to have, because my characters influence me as much as I influence them. Right now, I feel like there's a bit of a gap in my little group which I feel Veuve Noir would fill in very nicely. I'm super excited to see if I win him! o3o

What will it be used for?

I pretty much explained this in my overlylong reply to the question above, but I can always elaborate. Primarily, he will be my muse and inspiration when I feel I need some, and a face my teachers will get to see on all the papers I turn in because I have such a habbit of drawing on everything pencil will write on. I might even have to wipe him off of a desk a couple of times. I also love to Roleplay and story-write, and my stories never like to stay constricted to the real world. There needs to be some element of fantasy, of something unreal, which suits a Somnei character so well.

Describe your Somnei:

I'm assuming this is personalitywise, since it's obvious what he looks like. He's a shyer personality, even by Somnei standards, that doesn't speak to many. He doesn't mind being alone, and doesn't seek attention. He doesn't judge others, and doesn't care about being judged. It can be mistaken for depression, but he really leads a life that he is content with. He looks on to uncorrupted Somnei with a wonder of how they can spend their time making blissful dreams for creatures, doing what they can to be as selfless as possible. In a sense, this makes Veuve selfish, but he doesn't feel he can be blamed for simply doing what he can to survive. He believes that if someone really wants something, like happiness, they shouldn't need or even want help from anyone else in achieving it. He does not interfere with others, and has a seeming unbreakable air of calm and shows very little emotion at most. Some might say he has no sense of humor. Overall, he goes largely misunderstood but couldn't care less. Some people of this manner might get bullied, but the dark energy that surrounds him is often too intimidating to approach. Not many would want to get his attention, anyways, considering he brings dreams that trend towards negative.

It was late, close to 2 A.M. when a woman in her younger 20's clicked the key to her dormitory inside the door's lock and pushed it open, leaning to the right to counteract a heavy-looking over-the-shoulder laptop bag slung over her left. Her mascara was faded, and the skin-colored base she had applied that morning could not disguise the dark circles under her eyes. Her hand moved to push strands of straight, golden-blonde hair from her eyes and behind her ears. Next, she slid some styled glasses off of her nose and let them rest on top of a desk overflowing with papers that were sliding off. If it hadn't been as early, the normally responsible young woman would have tucked them away safely in a leather case she carried in her bag.
The dormitory was fairly messy, mostly overflowing with lined paper filled with a beautiful cursive scrawl. Nejiss planned to have it all cleaned up tomorrow, Saturday, her first day off in a long time. For now, though, she added her laptop bag to the mess and pulled off her outer shirt with a black tank top left underneath, kicking off her black slightly heeled shoes that left her feet throbbing with pain.Still dressed in formal black slacks, she toppled over on her bed, rolling onto her side and closing her eyes for what only felt like a a moment before a dream world unfolded behind her eyelids.
Dreaming in black and white, she saw a blank street fold in front of her, with small houses lining the street but no cars in sight. The land behind the houses was flat, featureless. The lawns had trimmed hedges determining one yard from another, but no other noticeable feature. Every house looked the same, with white facades and shutters over the windows. Nejiss walked up to one house, and knocked on the door curiously, peering into the fogged window in the door. A spiderlike shadow seemed to dart past inside the house. She stepped back, and turned around, seeing the shadow skitter across the other houses like a small spider's shadow that was magnified since it skittered right in front of a flashlight in a dark room. Curiously, and not frightened, Nejess followed, weaving around lamp posts as she followed it down the street. It was easy enough to chase, as it kept appearing nearby. However, eventually, it didn't appear anymore. Almost saddened, Nejess turned to face the way she came. A feeling of dread and fear had been kindling in her stomach, and it rose to her throat as she felt panic suddenly close in. Then, she was running. Running down the street, sweating madly, not daring to turn around. Things became twisted, demented; as she ran, a black tree with branches like spider's legs whipped past. Eventually, she collapsed, tired, closing her eyes tight as her breathing accelerated to a speed that would put someone at risk of hyperventilation if it was maintained in reality.
She looked up, eyes open. A black figure like a small pony, almost small enough to be cat sized, stood two yards in front of her, with strange dark glow emanating from it, and odd antennae like things sprouting from it's skull just before it's mane. It's red eyes were chilling, but Nejiss did not flinch, or run. She stretched out a hand curiously, then it was gone. Before she could react, the creature reappeared before her, pressing it's nose into her hand. The velvet feel of it's fur and the warmth from under it's skin felt so likelike, so real, more so than any other part of the strange dream. Then, it leaned back, it's red eyes flashing as if filled with an unreadable emotion before Nejiss was engulfed in blackness.
She sat up, running her fingers through her hair in confusion. The dream was foggy, and she couldn't remember most of it. She remembered following something, and feelings of terror, all leading up to the most confusing part of the dream. All she remembered of that was touching something soft and almost comforting, like a puppy's delicate head. The remnants of that night's slumber stayed with her for the next couple of years. She didn't understand it, but felt as if there was something else with her, watching over her, a silent, invisible companion. It wasn't a needy presence, or an annoying one. If it were to be compared to something, it would be a cat, a creature that often doesn't ask for attention, but it has a level of respect and friendliness to it's owner that it shares with no one else. Nejiss never forgot that dream, and every time she would dream of nightmares, she would always awake with a smile upon her face because she would feel the comforting presence of her loyal friend.

I've always wanted one of your adoptables (Draca) but I never seemed to get my hands on one. So, seeing this Somnei, I was inspired. I think, with my 'cleverness', I will finally be able to secure this one.

What will it be used for?

I hope to Use it in doodles and such, but also, hopefully create more poems using it.

Describe your Somnei:

This somnei is very dark, cold, distant, and unknowingly instills fear on all who gaze upon it in their nightmareish dreams. It does not mean to take victims, but most children it encounters it scars for ever. It only thinks of survival, but occasionally, it will meet a human who enjoys its dreams, and become frightened. But, for the most part, Inevcican is distant, cold, and unloving.

(First, before I begin, This was inspired by Edger Allen Poe's poem "The Raven." Just keep in mind, this comes from a narrator's standpoint. So, you don't actually see the Somnei, you see a 'cat', which represents the Somnei.

It was late, and dark and dreary, as I closed my eyes all very weary,
As I drifted off to sleep, I thought myself heard a creek, but nothing was seen on my bedroom floor.
It is only mice, and nothing more

With fright as I slept, I then frightfully dreamt the terrors of spiders lining my floor.
Seemingly turning out the lights, a frightened gasp erupted my fright, as I stared up at the ceiling in the night
It was only a dream, and nothing more

Frightfully the creek sounded again at this frightful hour, even now after my dreadful slumber
I peered under my bed, and my dread turned to glad when I saw a catlike figure peering back
It is only a cat, and nothing more

I soon fell back asleep, but the creeks kept creeking and the shrieks still shrieking in my dreams of spiders and the lands of lore.
I could not escape my fright as my eyes regained sight
And I realized, I had no cat living under my bed or my floor, so fearful, I ran to my door.
Its found me in my bedroom, the fearful red cat of lore

I now feared for my life, was this a dream or my own strife?
I knew not for it seemed so real, so light, but if this cat were to steal my sight, I know not what I would do in the night
It steals from me, the evil cat of fright

Suddenly, all seems calm, in the wake of destruction it all seems calm
I awaken in the morn to a sunshine unscorned,
the cat gone and the floorboards uncreeking, the air without the shrieking
The only thing left, is a blood trail across the floor.
I hurt the evil cat, it is only this and nothing more
