What is the story behind your catshee's scars? "Nobody can do it, least of all, you!" There was a rumor, a myth, a legend; during a blizzard, climb the mountain, dive beneath the ice to the bottom of the lake, fetch the witch's necklace and bring it back to her, and she will grant you the ability to control ice. Everyone knew it was just a story. Witches aren't even real. There had been a mage who valued a necklace given to her by her lover before the frost took him, and she'd been devastated ever since she lost him. She would take the route he'd taken every year, and one year, she lost the necklace he'd given her in the lake. She'd beg for help to retrieve it, but nobody had succeed in finding it yet. That is how the myth was born. She had since stopped caring so much about the necklace as what she truly cared about was the one who had given it to her, and that was a loss she'd have to cope with regardless of if she still had the necklace or not. But reckless young kittens would still taunt each other with the challenge of getting it back, and with each story, they'd make the challenge harder. Now Zima was an anxious kitten, but ambitious nonetheless. His peers saw his fear and shyness first, and rarely acknowledged his persistence and determination. So when he told everyone he wanted to be a fighter, they laughed. His response was to finally complete the witch's challenge. He didn't gain the ability to control frost, but he did prove to himself that he could do difficult things that nobody else thought he could do. His peers just said that tolerating a bit of cold was so much easier than fighting, but Zima disagreed, given that he had firsthand felt the severity of the frost on his fur. He lost a finger, part of his tail and a bit of his ears to frostbite. It was no small battle he had survived. And he wore his scars with pride. His first scars were acquired learning he had it in himself to become whatever he wanted to be, and that only made them more special to him.
