Hey there, its me again... Eleya. I come to this place quite often, and was able to already take two cuties home with me. Anyways, I love the Lion King fandom and have a huge pride (actually split them into seperate smaller ones) already, waiting for even more lions to join. So yeah thats why I am here this time.

Why do you want this character?
As mentioned before, the pride is always searching for more members. When I saw Rodney being donated, I immediately fell for him. First I wanted to change his tail to a lion tail, but then I thought, why not keep it? It would make him stand out a little between all of my beloved lions.
A second reason for me falling for this little boy was his name. Rodney. It reminded me of a beloved TV series. I always watched Stargate. Also Stargate Atlantis, and there was this guy, Rodney McKay, and everyone from my family was like "Oh just shut up McKay! Your annoying!". I just loved him. Without this guy the series wouldn't have been so much fun to watch. Well, and thats why I really want to keep the name!
Where will you use it, and what will you use it for?
I will write about him and let him be part in one of my prides. Maybe Ill pair him up with Laini, maybe they will just be good friends. I will of course try to draw him from time to time.

Personality:
Rodney is a real coward sometimes. He hates confrontations and will always try to get away. Run away if necessary. Also huger animals, animals with to many legs or huge teeth are really scary. He is shy when it comes to other lions and will need his time to warm up. Normally he preferres to stay alone but sometimes he likes some company.
Rodney can be really annoying sometimes. He wants to know everything and wants to spread his knowledge. He corrects you when ever you are wrong, and doesnt get why others get angry then.
His mother wanted him to be a great leader once, but he would never be brave enough. He knows what makes a good leader, but also knows he has not much of it. He might be good at giving advice, but he would always worry to much to get to a quick decission.
History:
Rodney was lying on a rock, watching the sunset. He still didnt feel comfortable around the other pride members, so he tended to keep his distance. But there was this one little lioness that always followed him. He thought he escaped her this time. But no, there she was again. "Hey Rodney! What are you doing?", Laini asked. Rodney sighed: "I wanted to watch the sunset."
"Isnt that boring? Cant we just go and play a little? Or wait, you could tell me something about you. Where are you from and what did you do, before you joined us?"
"I guess thats even more boring.", Rodney replied. "Oh come on," Laini begged, "please?" She looked at him with huge eyes. "Oh well then... I'll start with how my parentes met, because I guess that is the most interesting part of my story...

Dad always told me about this box he was put in. He used to live in a zoo far away from here. Where they have lots of mountains. Well, one day the humans came and shot an arrow on him. He fell asleep and woke up in this box. It was moving, but he couldnt see where it was going. He though heard some humans talk. They said things like "He will be a pretty gift for the prince" and "I guess they have never seen a cougar". Then their journey got really bumpy and the humans got hectic. They screamed and shouted. My fathers box got thrown around in one of those unnatural things humans are moving in. Until he fell ot. He fell really hard and the box broke. It was his chance to escape, and so he did. He just ran into the no where.
He didnt know where he was, and he didnt see his beloved mountains. He was really scared. but he found another loner out there. It was a female lioness, on her way to find a new pride she could live with. She was scared of him at first too, because she had never seen a cougar before. But she was brave enough to ask him, what he was and what he was doing there. He told her about what has happened and she offered to help him. She showed him where the herds are and where he could find water. She showed him what animals are dangerous and what places are safe to sleep. She stayed with him for a few weeks and they started to fall in love with each other.
Yeah, one thing leads to another and quite some time later I was born."

"Dad, why are we hiding here?", Rodney asked. The cougar pointed at a huge green creature that was lying next to the water hole: "Do you see this? It is called a crocodile. These are really dangerous. Its better he doesnt see us." The crocodile opened his mouth and showed lots of huge teeth. Now Rodney understood and got really scared: "Dad will it eat us up?" "No, but we have to be quick. RUN!", the cougar answered and started to run off. Rodney followed him as fast as he could.
When they came back to his mother, they both gasped for air. "And where are you two coming from?", the lioness laughed. Rodney told her: "We saw a crocodile and would have eaten us up! But we were faster. We ran as fast as we could. Those are so scary!" "Oh Rodney, they are not very quick runners. Crocodiles use to hunt in the water, so you dont have to worry. You hate swiming anyways. So no danger for you my little love.", the lioness tried to calm down her little boy. To the cougar she said: "Oh Roland, you making a total coward of him. Dont scare him that much, he will be a mighty half lion once. Able to start his own pride and be a great leader. But not if you keep telling him all and everything can kill him." "But Sura, this country is dangerous. Everything here CAN actually kill him."

"Rodney... RODNEY! Hey, why are you not continuing your story?", Laini asked. Rodney shook his head. He hoped it would help getting rid of his memories again. "Sorry, I just... Ill just go on. We were a happy little family. Mum tought me about hunting, about leading and having my own pride once. Dad told me about the cougars and how comfortable and safe his life in the zoo was, about humans and that they are nice mostly and feed you, about how dangerus everything here is. Of course I belived him. All of those things he called dangerous really look scary. And I didnt really belive that I would be a leader one day.
Well, but those humans..."

"Dont worry Rodney. Ill go and search for your father. Ill bring him back.", Sura said to her son. Rodney cried: "Mum, please dont you leave me too!? Please! I dont want to stai with these... How they look at me... I am not one of them! Please let me go with you!" "I cant. It will be to dangerous. You are old enough to get along with the other lions. There are also some cubs in your age. You will have someone to play. Nadhiri will take care of you. She will teach you more about hunting and what it takes to be a lion."
"But mum!"
"Rodney, do you see that wet spot? This mud looks strange right? Yes, its because it is not only mud. See, its paint. Vultures use it to look more dangerous. I guess you can try this too.", Sura put some of the paint in Rodneys face, "See? Now you look stronger. If you feel afraid or miss your family to much, put on the paint. You will be stronger then." The young boy nodded: "I will mum... just try to be back soon, will you?" "I will. And I will bring your dad with me. And we will be all together again.", Sura said and smiled at her son.

"...RODNEY! You did it again! Come on!", Laini got really grouchy. "Sorry...", Rodney said and continued his story, "The humans came and took my father away. They are not friendly at all... They take away the ones you love... Well, mum went searching for dad and let me stay here... Thats my story. Not interesting at all, you see?" "I liked it," Laini said, and curled up next to Rodney, watching the last light of the sun disappear.
