Why would you like this character/What will you do for this character?:I have many wolf and/or wolf cross charries. But somehow this guy stole my heart. <3 I have never really taken much thought into the Great Dane breed, but he has opened my eyes. What will I do for him? Write the best form I can, get him a mate, spot on my charrie thread, get art of him, maybe have him have offspring with his mate.

History:Samson was born just across the river from Manhattan in New Jersey. The place where he was born was small and industrial, but his history couldn't have made him any better. He gets to live the best of both worlds, and he is content in the small but busy world he lives in. But what will open your eyes most to his history is actually his parent's history.
Samson's mother, Bell (http://www.fotodanes.com/skyy.htm), was a very popular stray in the New Jersey side of the Hudson River, near the ferries to New York, often going in and out of the shipyards to retrieve food from the men that came back from the Atlantic. She was actually a female pup born from a Great Dane breeding operation in the farmland of New Jersey, but ran away when her sibling were sent to animal testing.
Samson's father,
Sawyer, was the main stud at a small Great Dane breeding operation just north of the shipyards on the Hudson river, and his father would many times travel across the Hudson to go into New York for shows, breeding services, and advertising.
Samson's parents met when his mother was at the shipyard a few streets away retirieving food, and his father happened to be going on the ferries to Manhattan. Belle was in season, and Sawyer, with a distracted owner fiddling with ferry tickets, managed to slip from his leash and spend a few moments with the lovely Bell. He returned to his owner, all safe and sound, leaving Bell with a full belly.
Sawyer eventually met with Bell again a few days after their introduction, and he told Bell about his location, his owner's plans for him over the next few years, and his "occupation". Belle was upset he could not be with her, but made the jounrey every few days to see Sawyer.
One May evening, Belle, in great pain, made the last leg of the journey to Sawyer's home, where she whelped with his presence. She whelped only one puppy, Samson. And that is where his journey begins.

Samson grew in both the comforts and povery of New Jersey. At time he would either be at rest with his father in the kennels, or he would be in the cold and rough shipyards of the Hudson. But he adapted either way, and eventually left his parents, for they had both passed away.
He had won the hearts of the ferry-people, since his father and mother were so popular around the ferries. He managed to hitch a ride on the ferry to Manhattan, where the ferry-people led him to a safer part of the city. Samson still goes back and fourth across the Hudson, but usualy stays on the New Jersey side, where he is best known.
