Mage Hounds -Closed-

[rem sleep]

I gazed around the large dusty room, shadows stretching out from every corner in every direction. I saw some movement in the room, with it being fairly dark it was hard to see. I could only make out the outline of a single hound, though this hound was surrounded by people and though it was dark I could see the hound's marvelous bright colors. It didn't seem like this hound was going to have the time for me so I decided to give up and leave...then underneath a book shelf I saw a little white face and two sparkling yellow-green eyes. I looked over at him and our glances snared for a moment. I approached the shy-looking hound and stuck my hand out for him to sniff, he did but for a moment I was worried he might bite me and I cringed. My doing so seemed to offend the small being so I stuck my hand under the large shelf and stroked his thick fur. I whispered quietly to him in a lulling voice coated in melodic words,
"you're not to bold either are you?"
he cocked his head to the right and slowly slid out from under the book shelf and sat in front of me. I noticed a couple things about him. 1, He has an intricate tattoo on his left hind leg and then there was the fact that he didn't seem so shy, rather, I think he was happy I had come to see him. He just didn't seem like he knew how to call attention to himself on his own. More of an observer. I searched the back of my mind for this lovely boys name and eventually remembered...
Nendir, that's your name isn't it?
He looked up at me with hopeful eyes. I searched my pockets for something to give the sweet heart when I found an old dog biscuit in my pocket from when I was helping train my friends dog days before. I broke the treat into 4 smaller pieces seeing as it was kind of big. Nendir was happy to have them and before pigging out sniffed them and marveled at the scent of lamb that lingered on the bruised bone's remains. I smiled hopefully and waited for Locien to return and give me my permission to take my lovely little boy home with me to have as my own.

~Nendir, pleasure to meet you~

The room I stood in was a bit cloudy, the dust that swirled up at the steps of the other humans in the room filling my nostrils heavily, causing me to sneeze, but it was more of a little whistle, and I quickly covered it up. I was indeed surprised to see so others had noticed, but it was then that I saw those brilliant eyes, filled with knowledge.

I saw him look at me with kind, but cautious eyes, tainted with the smallest bit of hope. I tilted my head, licking my lips lightly, my hands already searching for something appealing that may have accidentaly resided in my pockets. I clicked my tongue slightly, then I found it, a old squeaky of mine. It had been passed down generations in our family, and I had planned on giving it down as well, but something changed my mind. Maybe it was the level of curiosity in this young pup's eyes.

I lightly scooted it across the floor to him, withdrawing slowly, gazing at him with my own curious blue eyes. I could tell we were alike, mesmerized in each other's manners and habits. I tilted my head once more, starting to speak softly. "Young Pup, you are Nendir, I believe? It sounds right, surely fits you, to a point. I have heard you are a curious one, interested in us, no?" I said, awaiting the recognition of voice to register for him. I nodded to myself, continuing. "My name is Rare, and I travel around the world, well known you may say. It would be a pleasure to have such a smart, brilliant hound along with me. I would be willing to show you our ways, and help you along the way, and in return, I would hold your friendship close, but never your freedom. You are free to stay with me, but by nothing you are bound. If I am proven unsatisfactory, you may return, and find someone worthy of your greatness, but Nendir, I believe I am suitable for what you are looking for in this life, and am sure to be able to show you this world's wonder. But for now I will sit here, and wait for your response. Would you take on a life with me?" finished, quietening down, my blue eyes watching him curiously, glazing over his sleek black and white coat, all the way to his purple pads I awaited a arrival from Locien, who I hoped would confirm my hopes.

Meldiriel cocked her head slightly and watched as more humans gathered around her, she'd almost made her choice of who to join when yet another human snuck up. "Oh, you all sound so wonderful," she muttered looking at them, "But I can only choose one of you..." She frowned deeply and stood up, "HD I will follow you."

Nendir's ears fell back against his head to all of the attention he was getting from these humans. His peircing yellow eyes followed their every movement, considering their stories. Akthough he wanted to go back and hide under his chair something kept him there, listening to their tales. Turning to one of the humans he said in a hushed voice, "Rare is an... odd name, but I do like it. You intrigue me and say that you areworth of my comanionship, but am I worth of yours..? If you will have me I'd be happy to join you."

~Is It Time To Leave?~

When he responded I silently stood up, brushing off my clothes gently, my blue eyes grazing over his muscular sleek body once more. I cleared my throat with the lightest gesture possible, and a soft smile enveloped my fine lips. "Nendir, it is a pleasure to hear what you have just spoken. It will be an honour to have you at my side. And no worries, dear Nendir, if anyone if not totally worthy of every aspect invited, it is me, for you are a hound of purity, and I will not view you otherwise." I said, brushing off my clothes again, watching him come out a bit more. I nodded, speaking once more. "Shall we go now, and take this life and world by the reins?" I finished, a wondering smile on my face, my blue eyes sparkling as I looked at the gorgeous hound before me. Never had I though such an opportunity would arise, and here I was, with the best companion possible.

My Head shot up as I heard Meldiriel's voice for the first time, It was quiet but held a note of determination. You are all so wonderful, but I can only choose one of you.. she stood her face falling into a deep puzzled frown, HD I will Fallow you. as those words met my ears felt like a void inside of my was filled, I could not help it My eyes watered and tears streamed down my face falling to the stone floor below me, It was against my better judgement and my dignity but i threw my arms around her broad shoulders and neck, in a thankful embrace. Thank you so much for choosing me I whispered in her ear. Mia bellezza, my beauty her form shook in what i could only decipher as a chuckle, and I had to laugh as well, sitting back on my heals as i took in her amazing chestnut painted form again. I smiled and got up dusting off my raged Jeans. I'm sorry for my outburst, i said dabbing at my eyes, I held out my hand to her, come The day is still young and I have much to show you Meldiriel, we can start small If you want Just exploring the surrounding woods, one day though i Would like to take you to Egypt, you would love the ruins there. The hound left out a shy laugh and started to walk towards the door, smiling I bounded after her, a final though crossed my mind as i passed through the doors of the house, Finally a companion to share my thoughts, adventures, and life with.
