Desired Somnei:Somnei #10
Somnei name:Sorrow's End
Reason for wanting one:I absolutely fell in love with these adoptables. They are so gorgeous and unique! I'm such a sucker for dragon-like things too! :3
Truthfully, I had a tough time choosing between this one and the Somnei number 8. They were both so beautiful and I could connect with both of the little stories about them. I eventually chose this one because I have recently been writing some really sad stories and I felt I could connect with this one more. I love the idea of the rainclouds and rain moving across it's pelt. I love the rain, it seems to make everything peaceful and calm which is what the effect this somnei gives. Blue is my favorite color, so I had to apply for the blue somnei of course. :3
What will it be used for?Hopefully not to give me sad dreams! x3
Seriously, I will draw fanart of my somnei and maybe even use Sorrow in a roleplay if a good one is ever made.
Sorrow will also make an appearance in my signature from time to time. ^^
Describe your Somnei:Sorrow's End is a really sweet and kind Somnei. He cares greatly for his dreamer and watches over her constantly, almost protectively. He rarely shows sadness, unless he knows his dreamer has had a sad or depressing dream. He is never over exuberant, and seems to have a passive, almost somber disposition. He always seems to understand, and never judges, he just looks at you with his intense eyes, like he knew all along what was wrong. He is supportive, and protecting, silent, and strong, and the type of Somnei who will never leave your side.
Write a short story for your Somnei:It was one of those dreams again. Rain, always raining. Not pouring, but the slight drizzle that seems to blanket and muffle everything, and make everything quiet. It was the type of rain that would appear during a funeral. Depressing and dreary.
I knew it was a dream because my characters were involved. Tall, lean, and startling handsome, the type you find in a romance book. The ones you could fall in love with almost instantly. This was not romance, but a drama. Someone had died, the climatic part of my unfinished story. The spot I always seem to stop at when the main character dies.
I was a drama writer, I focused on the bits of the story that would tear at the readers' heartstrings, the parts that would make someone cry as they read, parts that would haunt your dreams as they were doing mind.
As the dream continued, I noticed something was off. Something that wasn't exactly fitting in with my dream. The clouds were clearing, something that never happened before, and small rays of sunshine was starting to peak through. It was so startling, in fact, that it drove me into consciousness.
My eyes flickered open, and the first thing I noticed was the glow. It wasn't the glow of my nightlight, it was something softer, something that was hovering ever so slightly above my writing desk. Curiously, I switched on my light, wondering what exactly the intruder was.
It was one of the most interesting things I have ever seen. It seemed almost dragon-like, but he was no bigger then a cat. Antennae poked out his head and tail, and he had a short ridge of fur down his back. His pelt is was really caught my attention. It was rain, soft and quiet as it moved across his fur. Just like my dream. At first I thought I was still dreaming, but as I locked eyes with him, I knew immediately this was real.
Slowly, I got to my feet and crossed the room, my hand held out so I wouldn't scare him. He didn't even flinch, and barely even moved. His eyes held mine, and as he touched his nose to my hand, I knew I could write about something happy for once.
I named him Sorrow's End, and he has been my constant writing companion and always seems to help me get over the depressing parts of my story, and move on to happier times.
