Reason You Want It: I have a special connection with her. When I first saw her my heart skipped a beat. I had to put my aussie down a little while back and her name was Nikki. I grew up with her since I was born and miss her terribly. This character reminds me a lot like Nikki. I feel like she has come to life and has called me to her new place as a character that I can use to roleplay. So that I can feel her feelings. Thank you for letting me go for her.

One rainy night you wander from a nearby town to a hill. At the bottom of a hill was a small vally and a town. Lights were on. You begin to walk down the hill but the wind changed and blew your scent toward the town. The lights went off and you wonder why. When you come down to the small town and stand next to a building that was on an abandoned street. Footsteps could be heard down the dark abandoned street. It had been raining and the black pavement was wet. Some areas had puddles. An Australian Shepherd walks toward you and stops. Her tail was docked and she had light blue floppy ears that had peircings in them. She had blue specks and markings in her coat. Her soft blue eyes looked you over, her face expressionless, but she didn't say anything. She turned to leave but you shouted, "Hey! Wait! What is your name!?" The Aussie stopped and didn't look back, "My name is Nikki. Follow me."

You follow the female dog down the street. It was quiet. You notice a golden ring on one of her toes. It made a clinking noise everytime it hit the ground. Nikki sent out a soft and rassuring bark and soon candals lit in the old worn down houses. You could hear whimpers and barks coming from the homes. "What is this place?" you ask and she replies, "This is an old town that was abandoned many years ago. This place is old and rotting. It is the only safe haven we have. We are strays and this is where we live and take care of each other." Her head looked to the sky and her nose sniffed the air. She looks back at you and tilts her head toward a small house on another hill, "More rain is coming. Please, come with." she says in a calm and quiet voice.

When you arrive inside the home, you sit down on the floor. There was no place to sit. There was no furniture. You give a sympathetic smile. Nikki closes the door and you wait until she talks. She lays down on a torn blanket but she doesn't speak so you do instead, "Where are the humans?" you ask. Nikki's ears perk and she muttered, "Haven't you heard of the new town called Greenview?" she asks. All you do is shake your head. "Your kind built it. There are tall skyscrappers over looking the mountains and valleys. They say that they made it because it would be good for the environment." A flash of lightning brightened up the sky. Thunder clashed and it started to rain once more. "They are wrong. They have cut down trees of the forrest and have paluted the sky!" she exclaimed. "Strays like us were sent away so that they could live without seeing a critter on the street. They don't want us anymore." a tear rolled down her cheak as she thought of her owner. A little girl with blonde hair and bright brown eyes.

Nikki stood up and paced around. You ask, "Who leads the strays? Is there an alpha of some kind?" Nikki stopped and smirked. She looked down at her golden ring and looked back up smiling, "Yes. That is me. I will lead the strays and keep them safe. I will provide for them. When the humans come back to take there once small peaceful community, we will stand and fight for our home."

She's been giving me the eye for quite some time now, though I was sure she'd go quick. She's simple, but very appealing and I can very much see myself drawing her often. <3
I'd been thinking I was going to find/make a canine guide for Nyati as her tribe will only see her as their true 'wise woman' when she has found a companion/guide. However, I very much love the idea of Alouette as her guide. Despite not being a 'powerful' species, her tribe revers the horse as an un-tamable spirit. To have one choose you in such a way would bring great respect.

Personality:

Alou'e is pushy and insistent, but she couldn't be more sweet. She is deeply attached to Niyati, her companion. She requires near-constant attention from the Tree Kangaroo and will enthusiastically and happily press herself, against the Roo if she ignores her for too long.
She is athletic and a skilled protector, but she, like her companion, is still young and still makes many mistakes. She shows great promise as a guide companion. She strives to live up to the expectations of both Niyati and the tribe, but she mirrors her friend's internal fears of falling short.

History:

She was born a near-normal Rocky Mountain Pony. The only difference between her and the rest of her herd was her strange disconnection to them. During these younger years, she was very different, still happy and enthusiastic, but there where many times when she would simply stop and stare as though in a trance. She would stay in this frozen state for hours if allowed. To break the trance all one had to do was nudge her enough to move her. Then, she would be back as though nothing had happened.
Even without these trances, she seemed to only be half of a whole being, her personality only had the one side and her off-vibes often gave others a creepy feeling. Her eyes were light and cloudy, often blank of expression, giving her a ghostly gaze.

During her second year, she met Niyati. She spotted her staring at her from high in a tree. She paused, standing straight up-right, giving away her position to any predator who could be stalking. Luckily, the lookouts had been doing their job well that day and she was quite safe despite being farther away from the others than she usually was. She was drawn to this strange being in the tree and their gazes locked.

The stranger slowly descended from her perch in the tree, never breaking eye contact, and approached her as one might an old friend.
Alou'e was confused. She felt as though she knew her, though she couldn't remember ever having seen her.
She stopped in front of her and smiled, reaching out toward her. She let her hand hover a few inches in front of the pony's nose.
Alou'e raised her nose to press against the strange hand. Immediately, she could feel a clarity flow through her and she knew the stranger to be her other half. The ghostly look vanished. Her eyes cleared to a bright chocolate brown. She gasped lightly, realizing she could finally see clearly, in both the figurative and literal sense.

The change from wild mountain pony to guide companion was fast, but she never looked back or questioned it. It makes sense to her and she knows this is why she was different to begin with. She was always meant to be with Niyati. She told him of her importance and the bond they share and she adapted quickly to tribe life.
They call her 'Deliverance' for their hope that she, along with Niyati, will lead the tribe into a new age of prosperity. It is a name she hopes to live up to as Niyati, which means 'Fate', 'Fortune', or 'Supreme Power', hopes to live up to hers.

Reason You Want It:
Compass Rose is just such a beautiful horse. I love her almost natural designs, and her blanket appaloosa markings are wonderful, and I am a sucker for appaloosas. Her long mane and tail show me a young horse, wil and free, but the small white line through both also makes me think she's more of an older, kind person. Her white blaze and snip on her face again bring a softness to her features. Overall, ahe's a perfect natural design.
Then there's the unnatural markings. The compass, or compass rose, which she was named after gives me ideas to stories, about where that compass could take her. The three blue stripes are so simple, but they intruige me. The bracelet on her hind leg interests me, but I do not know what it means right now. The feathers add another element of mystery. How did she get them? Why did she keep them? I just love how this design can be both natural and unnatural.
