Hercules is a Piebald Deer, Athena is a Seneca White Deer.
Personality/story of how they met:
Hercules is a strong, independent, fearless deer. He isn’t afraid to fight back against predators. He has been alone most of his life. He never got along with his heard, and was often considered the ‘black sheep’ of the deer population. Hercules had a good life growing up in the vast wilderness, not many hunters bothered going there. The only thing Hercules had to worry about was wolves. Athena on the other hand was goofy, care-free, and a sheltered deer. She lived within the confines of the former Seneca Army Depot in Seneca County, New York. She was part of a rare heard of deer! They are not albino, but instead carry a recessive gene for all-white coats! Athena didn’t like living in the army depot. Everyone looked the same and nothing ‘fun’ ever happened. Her father was very protective after her mother got killed, while trying to escape the Depot. Athena eventually decided enough was enough, and she escaped the Depot. She was in the outside world all alone. She had no clue how to survive alone, but she learned fast. She didn’t take the necessary precautions as she should have. Athena was still young and naive. She traveled long and far before she saw another deer. It was a strong buck and he wasn’t white like her, he had brown spots. This made Athena very excited, and without thinking she ran up behind the buck. This startled him so he swung his head at her, hitting the side of her face with his antlers. Athena was hurt and confused. She had forgotten that other deer were not like the on in the Depot. The buck stared at her wide eyed. What was this strange creature in front of him? She looked like a deer, but was white as snow. They approached each other slowly. Hercules moved too fast and Athena jerked back. She was still nervous from there first encounter. Once they were face to face Hercules rubbed his head against Athena’s head. In her travels Athena had forgotten about the comfort she felt when she was with another deer. Hercules thought that he was forgiven for what he had done, so he turned around and started to walk away. Athena fallowed behind him, in that moment Athena realized that she didn’t want to be alone anymore. Hercules felt a strange bond with Athena. He had never had a feeling like that before. He didn’t mind Athena being with him. That moment was the start of a very long lived life with each other…
