Prompt: This is going to be pretty long. There was this series of dreams that happened every few months or even every year. There wasn’t a single dream in this that was more impactful than the others, but after putting the dreams together last year, I realized it was pretty cool. The first dream in this series came to me early in 2011 and it was about this forest of mythical animals. Of course I’m not going to tell what happened in every single dream I’ve gotten so far in this series, so I’ll give a summary. The setting was a forest with a misty blue tint to it and the trees rose high in the sky. I was in the middle of a clearing in this forest and although it was a little foggy, I could make out the shapes of some strange looking animals nearby. One looked like some sort of griffin and another looked like a kitsune, except they weren’t quite what I thought they’d look like. The animals seemed to be talking, but I couldn’t understand what they were saying. They motioned me towards a huge tree with blue and purple leaves. The sight was pretty cool, but the weird hing was the dreams ended every time I tried to do anything near the tree, whether it was touching it, moving, or even blinking. Anyway, throughout these dreams, different animals continued to bring me to this same tree and I started off in the same clearing every single time. It was kind of frustrating not being able to explore the rest of the forest inside this dream since I would have to follow the animals towards this tree every time. When I didn’t follow them, my dream would just fall apart and I’d wake up. In December 2021, I had another dream, which would be the last. I just continued following them through this short dream and to the tree like I’d always done for the past ten years or so whenever I got this dream. This time was different somehow. This time, a dragon/serpentine looking creature led me to the tree and there was no other animal. Come to think of it, nothing that resembled a dragon/serpentine creature had ever led me here in my previous dreams that was apart of this series. When the creature and I got to the tree, it talked like every other animal had done, but this time I could understand it. It talked about this prophecy sorta thing, I can’t really remember this part, but it said that I completed it. This was kind of weird since I had done nothing but follow the creatures to this same tree, but I just nodded. The dream didn’t end when I moved or anything, so I decided to touch the tree this time. It was cool to the touch and I felt some characters/letters engraved into the tree trunk. I didn’t know what they said, but I noticed the dragon-like creature watching me intently the entire time. I don’t know why I decided to try and touch the creature instead of going to explore the rest of the forest like I wanted to for a decade, but I tried to touch it. I wanted to know what a mythical creature would feel like, any mythical creature. It wasn’t like I would ever see one outside of a dream. When I reached out to touch it, it suddenly jumped back and made a noice that somewhat resembled hissing. When it did this, I saw the forest and the clearing in the background began to fade and the giant tree started to fade too. I looked around and realized this might be the last dream I’d ever get related to this series. It was kind of sad, but at least I fulfilled the “prophecy” or whatever it was even though I did nothing. Funny thing was, after this dream ended, it was Christmas morning. Nothing eventful really happened on that day, but I decided to record that last dream in the journal I had. I decided to look through my dream journal at my other dreams about this series. I didn’t see anything that important, but I realized that throughout 2021, life had been pretty rough but I improved a lot socially and I was able to make more friends. I was also pretty stressed, but I realized I was dealing with it better now. I guess in the end, the prophecy was just to improve my life and my social life and this dream helped somehow. It calmed me and made me more carefree and social I guess.
