Flower FieldEvent Plot/Theme (YaIknowIwentoverboardonthestory) wrote:The home of the Pixel Squirrels, a small island in the tropics known as Pixel Island, is a destination hundreds want to visit, but very few do. This is because laws were passed that prohibit any humans from setting foot on the island unless they have a permit or it's a life or death situation. These laws were put in place to keep the island as untouched and natural as possible fo the wildlife that lives on it. However, these laws said nothing about riding past it on a boat.
It's late October now and you, along with hundreds of others, are on the first commercial trip to Pixel Island. Sure, you won't be able to set foot on land, but you still get to see it's stunning beaches and forest from the comfort of the ship. Ironically, the ship didn't allow pets, so sadly your Squirrels aren't with you. They probably would've enjoyed seeing their original home again.
You have your hands on the railing of the ship, bouncing with pure delight as you grow nearer and nearer to the island. You'd heard stories about it, how the forests looked like something straight out of a fairy tale, how there was a field of flowers as large as your hometown and a mountain range breathtaking to behold. If the stories were true, you'd surely faint with delight.
But the ship had scarcely stopped before you heard a loud crack of metal and a boom from below deck. To your horror, the ship began to sink! The captain of the vessel had gotten his readings wrong, and the boat has crashed into the edge of the coral reef that surrounds the island!
The ship wasn't well organized, and the inflatable lifeboats had all been stored on the lower decks. So as the ship went under, you and the passengers grabbed whatever objects you could get your hands on to use as flotation devices. Pretty soon, the ship had completely sunk, but everyone was alright and there were plenty of debris from the ship for those who hadn't gotten something to hold onto.
You felt a combination of joy and dread as the tide pushes you and the others to shore. Why joy? Because you'd get to see the island up close. The dread? Because the ship wasn't due back to port for two weeks, and the Captain hadn't gotten out an SOS before the ship sank. What with the ship not being due back for two weeks, it would be a while before any help arrived.
Until then, looks like you and the others are all stranded.
General Event Rules- Forms for anything may be declined if they/you break any of the event's rules.
- This event is meant to be fun for everyone, so please don't try to start fights over prizes, etc.
- Games are completely random, so don't complain about what you get/if you don't find anything.
- I (Dove) will be keeping track of Shell totals, so don't try to lie about how many you currently have.

Within the first day of being stranded on the island, you and the other refugees have made a temporary camp. But that's just it, it's only temporary. What you need are building materials to make some boats! I mean, it's not like you can swim back to civilization; the water is freezing and there are sharks just past the reef. Luckily, there's a lot of wooden debris strewn along the beach, and more materials further inland. The squirrels wouldn't mind if you gathered materials for your boats, as long as you leave their trees alone.
The Gathering Game
From this area, you are able to join in on the event's gathering game! This game is much like a lucky dip, from which you can get materials to build ships with (see below), special event items, shells and the occasional rare PS! Below are the game's rules.
Game Rules
- You are allowed to post one form every twelve hours
- Do not ask to be notified when you can post again
- Do not complain about what you find/if nothing is found
- If you break event rules, it can result in a ban from the game
What can you find, exactly?
Mountains:
- [img]here[/img]Pebble: Can probably be used as a nail. Probably.
- [img]here[/img]Stone: Perfect for splitting wood or hitting things.
- Shells!
- Squirrels (rare find)
Beach:
- [img]here[/img]Planks: Washed up on shore from the boat. Very handy.

Inflatable Raft - Must've come from the ship! Sorta small though...
- Shells!
Forest:
- [img]here[/img]Twigs: Can be woven together to hold things in place.
- [img]here[/img]Fallen Tree: A boat builder's dream
+Can be split into two planks, requirement of one stone
- Squirrels (common find)
Flower Field:
- [img]here[/img]Twigs: Can be woven together to hold things in place.
- [img]here[/img]Pebble: Can probably be used as a nail. Probably.

Boat Building
Boats determine how many prizes you're able to get from the event. This has been added to event to stick with the theme of being stranded, as well as to keep the event items rare. Boats can come in four stages: Beat Up Raft, Inflatable Raft, Dingy and Boat. Each stage up provides you with more room for prizes, but costs more materials to make!

For creatures with only arms and no legs, these Squirrels have set up some impressive communities! Seriously, they've mapped out the sources of fresh water and built their dens around them. The largest source of water is right in the middle of the forest, which is the location of the largest squirrel community on the island. You've been spending a lot of time around here gathering food and materials, and a few squirrels have made it a part of their day to wait for you to show up. Maybe once you've finished your boat, they'll want to come with you? You've just gotta make sure you have room for them all!

This island is nice, but you're really anxious to get home to your Squirrels and family. Plus, if you get back soon enough, you can buy some of that on-sale candy left over from Halloween! That's like, your favorite part of the year. The thing is though, making enough boats for everyone, and the squirrels they want to bring back, is taking a lot longer than you thought it would. Perhaps you could help everyone get off the island in another way? Signal fires always seem to work in the movies, maybe you should try to make one.

There's been so much hustle and bustle what with everyone trying to find ways to get back home, and you're so tired... That flower field your heard about and saw before the ship sank sure did look peaceful and inviting, maybe you could go there and rest among the blossoms for a little while?
