Prompt: I close my eyes and take in the salty breeze. Anywhere in the world, a beach will always remind me of home. The sand soft but burning, the sun glaring down, the sea never quite the color anyone ever says it is. The feeling is home and comfort and all things good and young in my life. The beach, the ocean, and everything about it will forever remind me of my hometown, and not just that but my family, my brother. If he gets to be there with me we’ll be there all day excited over washes up jellyfish and even the smallest whole seashell. He’d be wearing his stupid Hawaiian shirts that make him look like a tourist, I’d be wearing at least two layers of swimsuits so that I have to put on less sunscreen. At the end of the day I’d surf till the sun sets and the world disappears into a black abyss of water. All that I can hear is the waves crashing distantly against the shoreline.
