High above the peaks of the Himalayas, on a perfectly clear day, a large land mass can be seen. Deep forests cover its surface, hiding its topography from onlookers. Impressive mountains rise from the thick trees, imposing and beautiful. Their peaks are jagged and it's obvious that danger lurks. Despite this, a pristine layer of snow coats the highest points of the mountains, and clouds swirl around the peaks, adding to the mystery that the entire island seems to cast.
Unlike the rest of Earth, this island has not been touched by humans. What creatures live here, and what resources are here has been unknown for the thirty years its existence has been known. Until now.
Finally, a team of the best mountain climbers has successfully made it onto the surface of the "floating island" that they've decided to call Oscurus. The absolute beauty of what they saw rendered the team speechless and motionless, standing with their mouths open in awe at what they saw before them. It was not what anyone had expected.
Not at all.
Wheeling through the air above them were hundreds of dragons. The creatures paid no attention to the intruders, instead seeming to enjoy their flight. It almost seemed they were dancing through the clouds, their long slender bodies disappearing and reappearing among them. On the ground, lounging around on various ledges were dragons that looked exactly like those that were dancing above them, except they were wingless. They too ignored the intruders, at least until one of the team members let out a cry of awe. At the sound, all of the dragons froze, their eyes trained on the team. Finally one of them made its way down to them, it's eyes dark. It didn't open its mouth, but suddenly a dark voice rang out.
"You are brave to climb all the way up to the Feral Mountains." it said, its eyes narrowing in scrutiny. "What have you come for?" Even as the man started to explain, the dragon cut him off. "I can sense in your soul that you are honest, as are the rest of your companions. You are humans, are you not?" It tilted its head very slightly, and was silent for a moment. Then, without another word, it spread its wings and lifted into the air, watching them carefully.
"Perhaps it is time yet again for some of us to leave our home and travel once more. Perhaps it is time for another Binding."
