@De congrats on writing, lol, even though it wasn't on Griffin.
@Slava I would, but I've been having trouble reading lately (I'm calling this reader's block) so it'd probably take awhile.
This is Mori, btw. Temporary name change.

XD Same here. I've found one of my characters to be more serious and less charismatic and charming then I expected...might change it, might not. Guess I'll just have to see =P
Ooooooor: Plot twist! The main character was the villain all along~

Ooh, that'd be pretty cool. Actually, that makes me want to ask a question 😏

Not me, but now I want to haha
@Mori- Same oh my gosh. I used to read for hours on end, but I just haven't lately. It would probably be helpful to move me along in my writing, but I don't know X3
@De- I feel your pain. I haven't worked on my nano story in like a week or so. Congrats on writing anything at all though! It's better then I've done ^^

Have you ever read or written a story where the main character was the villain?
If any of you have read the Alex Rider series, one of the "bad guys" makes a comment that he and the main character act a lot alike with admittedly similar motives, though the main c's results are almost always accidental. If you haven't read the series, I suggest it. Kid spies, secret villain organization, and they're all fairly short ((Well, short by my standards. I don't know what you guys consider "long"))

To be honest the first story I ever started working on (in an earlier phase of the 'world' my characters live in), Akyra, who's the main character of the 'new' version (I abandoned the other one) as well, was actually the villain and killed her best friend and ended up being executed for war crimes
The best part is that she actually thought she was going the right thing until the very end ^.^ and the last few pages were just going to be an extremely depressing 'oh my god i screwed up so bad i deserve to die' gig from her. In the current one (which thankfully will have a far less depressing ending), I don't really have a villain- a lot of the characters change from villain to protagonist depending on whose viewpoint you choose. The one who starts out as the 'obvious' antagonist at the beginning turns out to be a protagonist and such and more or less saves the world and ends up teaming up with the squad, and one of the main protagonists is a psychopathic murderer with no morals, and they all kinda have their own agendas. I suppose I could simplify it to 'everyone is a jerk, everyone thinks they're being a jerk for a good reason, some of them are right sometimes, some of them screw up very, very badly.' I don't really like having 'evil' antagonists. Even that guy who tortures and almost kills one of the mains is doing it for a perfectly valid reason and tbh she's a far worse criminal than he ever was
I just love when the reader can't decide whether they love or hate a character ^.^ 'hey surprise, you thought he was horrible didn't you and now you're gonna feel bad' 'oh, you thought she was nice? nah jk she gets a slightly addictive thrill from tearing her enemies to shreds'
literally only here to get rats

Sorta? There are these two series (by the same author), and in one, the main character was evil, but, well... We're not sure why yet, the series is still running. And the other one, the mc was actually the Dark Huntsman, so he was technically evil. But not of them being evil was before the series starts, so I don't know of that counts.
I've always wanted to write a book where the main is the villain, and I'm thinking about doing so once WoK is done.
One time, I did start a book where the villain is actually one of the good guys trying to overthrow this council thing by posing as the biggest villain ever. Never finished it though.

This is literally my favorite writing thing
Seriously. I have a rule that every bad guy I have must have a good motivation and they must believe that they are doing the right thing. Preferably if you told the story from the villain's point of view, you would think the villain was the good guy and the good guys are the villains. I have several times written stories where the main characters are just as evil as the bad guys, and Impossibility was almost entirely written for the concept of having the good guy and bad guy take turns narrating.
