@Ranger- Forgot to say in my last post, but I really like that poem! It's got a nice flow to it.
Oh yeah, not all fairies have to be small, right? I guess I'm going for something a bit different then the typical fairy...oh! I just thought of something. Feel free to ignore this random blurb lol.
'Ey, thanks!

Were there any grammar inconsistencies?
It's here if anyone else is interested...I think Tinkerbell has pointed ears in the movies? I don't know how I know this...
The world is quiet here. Cheese

do you guys tend to have your characters' personalities mapped out before you start writing something, or do you let them come to you as it goes?
i tend to do the latter, but i've encountered a couple issues with not being sure which direction to take something, or the plot changing before my eyes.

Ugh, I'm all over the place with this. I go back and forth between planning and just winging it. Normally, I write out a few key traits, and
then once I start writing, I work on defining things more.
Guys. I have a little over 22k words to make up cuz I slacked off for like 17 days. I might skip nano this year and do it next year.
Twenty. Two. Thousand. Words. *cries*

I don't recall ever seeing that in a book or movie, but if no fairy has ever had pointed ears, is it okay to break that barrier, or should I stick to their lore? oh, the questions writers come up with
Disney fairies have pointed ears... If you want visual references.
Oh yeah! Heh...looked up Tinkerbell just to see...
@Ranger- I didn't notice any =)

I'm probably not the best person to answer this, but I tend to do a mix of both. But I suck at character personalities in general, so...huh. I've heard it helps to throw a bit of yourself into the character to keep you engaged, but I have yet to experiment with that.

XD Same here. I've found one of my characters to be more serious and less charismatic and charming then I expected...might change it, might not. Guess I'll just have to see =P

i'm not necessarily complaining about it, but i am finding roadblocks in continuing the story just because i'm not sure how i want him to react to things.

Who would provide criticism for my intro chapter and a partial first chapter for a book I'm trying to write? I'm really looking for some help on trying to spice things up as I feel like it's too repetitive ;~;
