Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.

Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.

Ini is an interesting character to say the least, her personality growing deeper and more convoluted the more you get to know her. Around friends or subordinates, Ini is a quiet creature, her wise green eyes constantly scanning the surrounding area in search of determinants of her next move. She is a strong leader who likes to be in control, and who insists on things being done the "right" way. She doesn't tolerate insubordination and leads with rigid and strict policies. However, she enjoys constructive criticism and is able to listen to those that she has teamed up with once she's established a relationship with them. She's generally a good leader who makes positive, educated decisions and handles well under pressure.

Ini doesn't take "no" for an answer, and stands up for herself each time someone tries to push her down. She won't roll over for whoever asks and doesn't tolerate being walked all over. While she's typically a gentle and kind character, bullies or those who try to establish control over her often end up with a sharp scratch to the face. She isn't afraid to fight for herself or those she loves, and she's incredibly loyal.

However, earning Ini's loyalty and trust often takes months or even years; She's a wary character who holds a strong sense of cautious paranoia. She's capable of convincing herself that those trying to befriend her are only doing it out of pity or other impure means, and therefore has a habit of pushing people away. Ironically, she's a lonely creature who enjoys the company of others, even those she chases away. She doesn't trust others easily, and assumes them to be against her until otherwise proven.

Ini is a positive fox who doesn't understand that when things are truly over, she can't come back from them. She's always looking forwards to her next move, putting her faith in impossible things, and is never void of hope. She'll always reassure companions with a quiet, "Things are looking up!" or a statement of, "It'll work out, trust me."

Checkpoint One

Postby ViceVersa » Wed Jun 15, 2016 5:46 am

Checkpoint One:

Today is finally the day! You have been preparing for weeks for this journey. The air is fresh while the chance of a light rain as you set out from camp. There are foxes chattering by the tents in excitement. You can hear others bartering for items. There are several foxes around you as you step out of the camp. Most of them are keeping to themselves and their own agendas.

After walking for a while you look up to find a fork in the trail. Both paths contain equal opportunity. It will not be long until the sun sets. The path to the next checkpoint will take most of the day no matter which way you go. You can wait until morning to make your decision or you can get ahead of the other foxes and continue traveling in the dark to the next checkpoint. Which way do you choose?

    || Checkpoint One: Left path chosen

The happy buzzing that filled the fields was responsible for waking Ini, and as she stretched, eager to begin her journey, she was able to find the source of it. Foxes filled her field of vision, each chatting excitedly with friends and family, and the noise they were generating set the vixen at ease. Everyone seemed happy today, practically bursting with excitement at the prospects of a new journey. Glancing behind her at the camps that littered the base, the beginning of their travels, Infinitum took off, her paws pressing against the hard ground. The smooth run pumped fresh air through her lungs, her veins coursing with adrenaline, but she skidded to a stop when she saw a split in the trail.

Ini glanced upwards, noting the approaching sunset, and glanced between the two paths. Turning back to the plethora of foxes already behind her, Ini closed her eyes, turning her muzzle to the wind, and went with her gut instinct.
Within moments she was off again, barreling onto the left path with a renewed spring in her step, her gait a brisk, happy walk.

Checkpoint Two

Postby ViceVersa » Sun Jun 19, 2016 9:40 am

Checkpoint Two:

Daylight fades and darkness falls. Before long clouds cover up the moon and stars. The rain beings to blow in. It starts as a sprinkle, but by time you reach the next checkpoint the rain has grown heavy and cold. The wind is not helping matters either.

[] Keep warm with your cloak and protect yourself from most of the rain.
[X] Due to the lack of a cloak, you have gained a the sniffles (common cold). + 10 words to your minimum.

At least you can take cover under the trees by the checkpoint. You may want to stay until morning in order to wait out the weather. As you look around the checkpoint you spy a small trail to your left. It is does not look as used as the one you are currently on, but someone has been down it before. You look down it, but due to some trees you cant see where it goes. Do you take the side path to see where it leads, or do you want to continue on your current path?

[] Turn away from the main trail and take the side path.
[X] Ignore the side path and continue to the next checkpoint.

    || Checkpoint Two: Main path chosen

In hindsight, maybe continuing on through the darkness was a mistake. But there wasn't much Ini could do to change her past decisions, something she'd realized awhile ago, so instead she struggled through the darkness, fat droplets of water pelting her worn coat. Shaking the water off wherever she could and ducking beneath whatever branches she could identify as shelter, Ini continued on through the trail, the cold water seeping through her fur and chilling her to the bones. Shivering as she walked, Ini reached the sparse cover of the trees above the checkpoint, her pelt hanging from her frame in frozen streaks. Her eyes trained on the path in front of her, analyzing it carefully, before a sharp flicker of something in her peripheral vision caught her attention. Glancing to it, she stepped closer and back into the rain, peering down the less-traveled path warily. Something about it seemed... off. One to go with her gut feeling, Ini narrowed her eyes and made a decision based on intuition, firmly turning back onto the main, better traveled, pathway.

Checkpoint 3

Postby ViceVersa » Thu Jun 23, 2016 8:23 am

Checkpoint 3:

The weather fades as you follow the path toward the next checkpoint. The distant mountains begin to grow taller as you walk closer. It is not long before they tower above you. The path between them is mostly smooth however the occasional signs of a previous, small avalanche can be seen. Eventually, you make it through them without too much trouble. The mountains are growing small again as you reach the third checkpoint. The third checkpoint is beside a tall tree. The main path continues on as always. Once again there is a side path to the left. It may be even less used than the previous one. Which road do you take?

[X] Ignore Side Path and continue ahead to the next checkpoint
[] Take the side path and see where it will lead.

    || Checkpoint Three: Main path chosen

The water droplets pelting Ini's frozen coat lessened just slightly with each footfall until it seemed like she had escaped most of the storm. The mountains loomed over her, making the vixen feel small and insignificant as she sniffled softly, the cold, ill feeling that the freezing rain had brought on remaining with her. Her paw pads ached, but Ini gritted her teeth in determination, traveling more quickly with each step, eager to complete the journey. Quitting, giving up now, just wasn't an option - no matter how much she wanted to. Another fork appeared, and a knot of suspicion appeared in the vixen's stomach. She wasn't sure whether it was her nerves or her gut instincts warning her about this fork in the road, but regardless, she had an uneasy feeling about it. Eyes narrowed, Ini glanced between the two paths several times before stepping hesitantly onto the main path, her footsteps becoming more sure as she proceeded down it.

She knew that the smaller path might be a quicker journey, but in the end, the main path would get her to the end of this journey, and that was what she needed. Risking everything, just for the possibility of earning a few hours, wasn't a decision that Ini felt comfortable making - not since she'd traveled so far already.

Checkpoint 4:

The road travels on without too much excitement. Soon you reach your next checkpoint. There is a growling sound echoing from the bushes. You can see two eyes glowing back at you; watching you carefully. The creature rumbles out of the bushes. It is large and furry like a bear, but with horns protruding from its head. Its massive paws brush the ground. Its teeth are bared and it does not seem like you will be able to scare it away without a fight.

[] Use your dagger to defend yourself!
[X] Defend yourself the best you can without a weapon. (injuries will be gained)
[] RUN AWAY! (injuries will be gained)
