Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.

Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.

Personality: Pompeii is a flirty, playful, but serious boy that has a habit of getting in over his head with the vixens he flirts with. He starts off smooth, winning over the lady and then before he can realize what's happening he's dug a hole 40 feet deep that not even the best climber could escape. He also enjoys romping around, chasing butterflies, frolicking through fields, trying to catch fish, and playfully teasing his friends, among other things. Despite this, he can be serious when need be. He knows when to put on a serious face (well, as serious as he can look with his bangs over his face) and sit quietly to let someone complain. He can be surprisingly decisive, and makes an excellent leader because of this.

Hobbies: His list of hobbies include Flirting, berry picking, collecting rocks, and walking into things because "he can't see".

Quirks: He tends to add random little words from other countries/languages into his day-to-day speech, greeting people with a "G'day" and parting with a "Ciao!" He also names rocks he collects and talks to them, most noticeably "Rockstar", a small rock he carries around with him.

Place: He loves this pool of water at the base of a large waterfall in the middle of a small jungle. It has a large tree that's slowly falling over, its so crooked that its incredibly easy for a fox to climb it, then carefully climb along its branches and lay a foot above the water.
Weather:He likes it when its cloudy, but warm, with a light rain. He's quite picky.

After a few quick goodbyes to a few friends and family members, and picking up some food and water for the trip, you head out onto the trail. There's a few foxes, too, travelling on the same road, but most seem to prefer to keep themselves to themselves. You wonder what's in store, as the sun begins to rise, and silhouettes stand out against the fading tangerine skies. As you begin to get into a comfortable pace, you notice that some of the foxes have stopped and are huddled together, heads bent slightly, and expressions passionate. Once you get close enough, you hear a few scraps of their conversation and realize they're arguing over the path's split;
"The left side has those spooky mountains in the distance! Why would you want to go over there?!"
"But have you even seen the other side? I don't like the look of that forest, who knows what's lying in wait for us!"

There are other opinions, but they're mostly drowned out, and you are forced to choose, for if you want to get to camp before it gets properly dark, you'd better make a decision quickly!

Checkpoint 1

Spooky Forest

Pompeii tilted his head to the side, thinking carefully. He walked away from the group a bit and took his loyal friend Rockstar out of his bandanna. He plopped the rock on the ground, lying down on his belly to get as face-to-face with the rock as he could. "What do you think? ... Yeah, I agree, both options aren't that great. ... True, mountains are... You're right as always." He nodded his agreement to his own statement as he stood and tucked the small rock back into his bandanna. He shook himself off, ridding himself of the dust he acquired when he laid down and padded down the path, head held high as he approached the split in the road. He trotted off down the right path feeling confident and ready. After all whatever lurks in that forest can't chase him AND Rockstar, right? "Right." He thought to himself as he approached the spooky forest. "Well, no matter how spooky it is, it's still easier then climbing a mountain!" he chirped to himself happily as he stepped into the forest.

The forest is dark, but not as dark as you thought. You pad through hesitantly, jumping at every noise. As you're walking, you notice that rain is in the air, and the wind has begun to pick up. The change is gradual, but eventually the wind is screaming through the trees and heavy, ice-cold drops are slipping through the branches; soaking your pelt and chilling you to the bone. You look desperately around for some kind of shelter but somehow the trees aren't enough, and you had decided to ignore the fox trying to sell you that cloak. Now you wish that you had bought it, no matter how untrustworthy he had seemed.

You continue, however, through the woods and as you're trodding through the wet, you notice a narrow trail to your right. Checkpoint 2

Side Path

Pompeii sneezed, shivering as he looked between the two paths, wearily He sat down to think, wrapping his tail around his legs as much as he could. "What do you think, Rockstar? .... Pffft, that's not what I meant at all you goof!" He laughed then promptly sneezed. "I wish I'd brought a blanket, too. Ah well, at least you're warm and dry in there.. ... So what are you thinking on our choice? Yeah. I think that sounds like a good idea." he said as he stood, stretching out his shivering, soaked limbs. He quickly ate a few berries before walking towards the next check point. He stopped short, though, the side path nagging at his mind, teasing him saying "Walk down me, Pompeeeiii.. Come walk down meee..~". He groaned to himself as he turned around and walked back to the path. "Why must I be so adventurous? Its gonna get me killed. Or maimed! I'm too handsome for scars. .. I'm sorry, Rockstar. You knew I wouldn't be able to resist this path.." he said to his rock companion as he began down the side path. His paws padded along as he shivered, sniffling occasionally, wondering what will await him, and if his rock companion will ever forgive him.

The path is thin, and you have to force and weave your way through the undergrowth at some times. It winds and twists and sometimes you wonder whether this was a good choice after all. Suddenly, after pushing your way through a particularly stubborn patch of bushes, a front paw meets open air and, looking down, you're on the edge of a large cliff where the soft, clay soil has crumbled away. You back up quickly, wishing to avoid falling and hurting yourself in someway.

Checkpoint 3

Go back to the main path

Pompeii turned around and walked back to the main path, tripping over vines, rocks, and roots. He may be shivering, but he's still satisfied. It may have been a dead end, but at least he knew and wouldn't have to wonder. "Rockstar, you're not still mad are you?" ... He chuckled, then cheerfully said "I love you tooo!~" with a wag of his tail. He began his walk towards the next checkpoint, occasionally sneezing as he walked.

Once you stumble and drag yourself back through the trail, you look around for the familiar wooden stake that signalled the next checkpoint. You find it and flop down next to it, taking a brief rest after doubling back on the trail. As you catch your breath, you notice a small, well-hidden path leading off to one side, and disappearing into the undergrowth.

Pompeii looked at the path and sighed, shaking his head. He already knew what he would be doing. He laid his head on his paws and yawned. "Lets rest for a bit." He spoke softly to his rock friend. He took a small nap by the stake. He woke up 30 minutes later, and then he stood, stretching out his legs one by one, yawning. He stopped suddenly, realizing his bandana felt light. He realized, suddenly, that Rockstar wasn't there. Pompeii panicked, looking all around the stake for his companion. When he failed to find him, he back-tracked a bit, occasionally calling out to the rock. He went back to the start of the previous checkpoint and found his little rock friend. Pompeii nearly cried as he picked Rockstar up in his mouth and held him. Wordlessly, he walked back to where they'd been, and proceeded to the next checkpoint, no longer interested in checking any side paths. No mystery was worth losing his dear friend.
