First encounter and gaining trust~
It was an afternoon on a nice autumn day, I was walking to the corner store when I spotted something black curled up in an alley, it looked like some sort of animal. I walked closer to it slowly, wondering what it was. When I got closer I could see it was actually a Kietta, a male one at that! I made a face, and suddenly sneezed which woke up the Kietta. The Kietta spotted me and began to growl, barking at me. As I backed up I saw he was quite thin, and had very dirty fur. I frowned, and headed to the corner store after I got out of the alley. I brought a cup of tea and a pack of hotdogs, hoping that I could make friends with the Kietta. I headed out and to the alley where the male Kietta was. The Kietta was protecting his box that must of been his home, and growled loudly when he saw me. I opened up the hot dog pack and gently threw one his way. He stopped growling and looked at the hot dog before eating it right up! I threw another one at him, a bit closer to me. "Good boy." I spoke, and eventually got him to eat the hot dogs out of my hand. He warmed up quickly, wagging his tail and barking softly. I smiled, glad that I made him my friend, but I wanted to bring him home. I got up slowly, telling him I would be right back. I started to head off the corner store again, but heard something behind me. It was the Kietta following me. I turned around and smiled. "Good boy!" I praised, petting his head. I headed home, the Kietta following behind me. "I think I'll call you Milo." I smiled, opening up the door to the house. "Milo, how about we feed you a bit and then wash you alright?" I asked, holding the door open for him. Milo looked confused, sniffing around the door. He slowly walked in, unsure. "It will be alright! I'll get you more food, and it's going to be warm in here!" I chuckled, closing the door behind me.
Introduction to the tack and collar~
Milo had lived with me all autumn and winter, his fur had cleaned out and he was well fed. He had made himself at home. He was a trouble maker, and had a spirit in him alright. He would race around the house, wanting to get out. I didn't have a great backyard, so everytime I had to go to a park and let him run till he was almost asleep while standing up. I knew about the races they did with them but didn't really look into it. Maybe it would be good for him. I went home, where Milo fell asleep quickly by my feet. I began to search the web for Kietta racing, and brought a tack and collar. They arrived a few days later and I let Milo smell them after I woke him up. I put the collar on first, it was Emerald Green, my favorite color. He didn't seem to mind, probably to tired to care. I smiled and pet him gently and put the tack a side. Over the next week I kept trying to put the tack on him, but he fought with me every time. I kept trying, giving him treats and calming him down. He eventually calmed down after a month, and let me put the tack on him. He was ready for the races!
