Delta Velorum Foxes are tall looking foxes that are only located on the remote planet of Delta Velorum.
Standing between 2 - 2 1/2 feet at the should, Delta Velorum Foxes are very tall in appearance compared to Red Foxes on Earth. They tend to be long legged in appearance and are well known for their endurance and agility. Males tend to be more muscular then females while female are more slender and elegant in appearance. A Delta Foxes fur tends to be very soft and short, and come in a wide variety of natural colors. It is not uncommon to see them in roans and dun colors similar to horses and are commonly seen in cat colors and patterns as well (such as calico, tabby, bengal markings ect). However the combination of colors and patterns are limitless, and each Delta Velorum Fox is different from the next. No two are ever the same in looks. Delta Velorum Foxes can come in any eye color and combination - no matter if it's natural or unnatural. A fox with two or more eye colors (known as Heterochromia) is uncommon but not unheard of.
Variety: Relaxed tail, Tear facial markings. Custom mane / bangs / braid, Heterochromia.

Story:
The water rushed, raising higher and higher. It began to reach the hill that the young todd stood upon. The todd looked on with horror as the waters rose. They had wiped out his comfortable den along with the dens of his clan. The clan lived sandwiched between two rivers. To their north lay mountains that the rivers flowed from. Over the past few days torrential rains poured down upon the small clan. The rivers flooded. The clan moved from their dens to higher ground slightly north in hopes to wait out the rain. To their dismay, the rain never stopped. The flood waters rose higher and higher. The clan made a decision to leave the land between the rivers, before they lost the chance. Collectively, the clan fled north to the mountains.
For two days in heavy rain, the clan traveled. On the second night, the wind picked up. The clan was tired, soaked, and cold. The alpha struggled to keep the clan moving. He sent out scouts to run ahead of the clan, but only one of four returned. Two had become lost in the storm and the other had fallen into rushing water ahead and been swept downriver. The remaining scout told the alpha about how the safest path was covered with water and the only way to the other side was swimming. This discouraged the alpha greatly. However the alpha was a noble leader. He motivated the clan forward to the rushing waters.
Lead by the alpha, the clan grabbed each other's tails and began swimming across the water. The current was strong and a few foxes, amid the confusing of the storm, were swept away. The young Azariah was desperately clinging tightly to the tail of the fox in front of him. He was barely a teen and many considered him still a kit. The current was pulling hard against the todd. The vixen behind him had let go of his tail, but managed to swim on her own ahead of him. Suddenly, Azariah felt a log move underneath him. It bobbed up and smacked him across the ribs. The air became knocked out of his lungs and he let go of fox in front of him. He gasped for air and fought against the current. It seemed that in the rain only water entered his lungs and he choked. The current dragged him under and he became disoriented. When he surfaced he was met with rain and wind, before being dragged under again. He fought on for what felt like hours before he past out in exhaustion.
Land. It was the first thing the todd felt. It was steady and comforting underneath him. Azariah felt his lungs attempt to expand. He began coughing. Air quickly returned to his lungs. For a while, Aza just lay there as he regained his strength. Eventually, he opened his eyes and glanced around. The rain had ceased and the sun now shown. He was on the grass beside the flooded river. Rising to his paws, the todd glanced around at his surroundings. He knew not where he was. However, he was alive and that was plenty to be grateful for.
Azariah followed the river north for some time, before heading across the land to the northeast. He never saw his clan again, nor knew exactly what became of them. Although he has heard some rumors about a clan living between the two rivers. Instead of returning to his clan, the todd continued northeast until he reached a place called Loner's Retreat. There he built a new, though temporary, den. His plans for the future are to travel the land before finally settling down in another clan.
