Username:Breezeyheart.
Name: Kyros (Κύρος): Greek form of Hebrew Kowresh (Persian Kûrush), meaning "like the sun."
Gender: Male.
What happened to this kida?:"You want to know what happened to me? Come closer and I'll tell you... I'll start at the very beginning.."
Darkness surrounded him as he opened his eyes for the first time. Light started to glow from the middle of the cave he was in. Shining bright, the light surrounded him and made the darkness melt into the shadows. Eyes glowed bright from shadows, hinting that the darkness, was really a living creature. He heard a soft, soothing voice utter "Begone demon, you shall not possess my child!" and she threw holy water on the shadowy creature. The demon made of living shadows hissed angrily at her, and disappeared into nothing. He heard the soft, soothing voice utter "Are you okay, Kyros?" the voice was full of concern and worry. "I think, but who are you?" he asked with confused look on his face. "I am your mother." she paused "Wait, you just opened your eyes, didn't you?" She asked. "Yes, mom." Kyros replied. "That's wonderful news" Her face lit up. "I'm Enyo, your mother." Enyo said, her voice soft and soothing to his ears. "Umm, mom." His stomach growled with hunger. "I'm hungry, do you got anything to eat?" Kyros asked, with hunger hurting his stomach with every growl.
"Of course! I'm figured you'd be hungry. I have some fresh berries right here in my paw for you." Enyo said and held out her paw. "Thanks!" Kyros grabbed the berries hungrily from her paw. "These are good!" He said with a mouth full of berries. "Don't talk with your mouth full, Kyros." Enyo scolded him. "Sorry, mom." Kyros said drooping his head. "It's okay, just try not to do it." Enyo said, her voice soft and soothing. "Okay, is there anything fun to do?" Kyros asked. "Well, we could go outside the cave," She looked down. "But it's too dangerous.." Enyo said and muttered to herself. "Outside? You mean that there's more to the world, then just this cave?" Kyros asked, his ears pricked up in excitement. "But it's too dangerous." Enyo said, worry in her eyes. "Please?" He flashed a sweet smile. "Okay, we'll go." Her face flashed a serious stare. "But we need to be careful." Enyo said and smile sweetly. "Okay, mom!" Kyros said and bounced up and down in excitement. "Let's go then." Enyo said and started to walk to the entrance of the cave, Kyros bounded after her.
Light flooded around them, as they walked out into the open. "What's this called, mom?' Kyros asked, looking all around at the forest that surrounded them. "This is the forest, we hunt elk and search for berries here." Enyo replied, her voice soft and calming. "What's elk, mom?" Kryos asked, bouncing up and down in place. "Elk is an antlered creature, that we hunt for it's meat." Enyo replied, as she looked around for danger. "Ooo, what's that?" Kyros said, pointing at a beautifully colored butterfly. "That's a butterfly, it flies to get around and eats nectar from flowers. It also tastes with it's feet." Enyo said, as she looked around again, getting ever more nervous. "It's so beautiful." Kyros said as the butterfly landed on his paw. "Grrrr..." The butterfly flew away in fear. "What is that, mom?" Kyros said nervously. "A demon, run Kryos!" She yelled as she armed herself, with a sliver cross and a bottle of holy water. "Mom!" He yelled as he ran.
"Grrrrr!" He scraped to a halt, a huge demon was blocking his way into the cave. "Mom! I can't get away!" Kyros yelled with fear. "Haha, you can't escape me, boy!" The demon snarled. "I'm not afraid of you." Kyros said bravely. "Are you sure, boy? I smell your fear.." The demon said with a snarl. "I'm sure." Kyros said confidently. "Hmm, you smell sure like you are sure, boy. But I see no holy water or crosses to aid you." The demon said with a evil grin. "I don't need them." Kyros said with a smile, and he started to glow bright. "What is this? A Kidambura with the power of flame?" The demon sounded nervous. Then his body changed, where he once had fur on his tail top, flames of unearthly green burned bright. His ear tips, which were fur, up until now, had become unearthly flames. of which were burning bright. Just like his tail tip, they too, had changed in appearance before the demon's eyes. His body color had changed from a beautiful blue, to a dark burnt black with unearthly green leopard spots. His eyes had changed colors too, from a stunning sky blue, to a completely see-through white colorless void. His eyes had basically become completely void of color, of which made his eyes appear to have disappeared completely, like a blank empty hollow void had replaced his eyes. The only hint that he still had eyes, was the white blaze markings that were below each eye. Yet even though his eyes looked like they were gone, he could still see, in fact he could see better, then he had ever seen before.
He realized that he could control the unearthly flames, and with that though, a ball of green fire appeared near him, and hovered in mid air. He grinned evilly like the demon had done earlier. With that grin and the fireball's appearance, the demon that towered over him, suddenly shrunk away from him in fear. Kryos noted that all of his senses: smell, sight, touch, and hearing, were far greater then they had ever been. He could now smell the demon's fear, just like it had smelled his, mere minutes before.
Looks like I now have the upper hand, this demon reeks of fear. "I.. Don't harm me, please.." The demon pleaded. Kryos sniffed the air, the demon now reeked of desperation. "Why should I?" Kryos said confidence, flowing through him like water in a stream. He had the upper hand now, for this demon was now keeling in front of him, out of pure fear. "Umm.." The demon had nothing to say in reply. "How's this? I won't harm you or any demon ever again" He shot a serious stare at the demon. "On one condition, that you or any of your kind never harm another Kidambura again, ever." He took a breath. "Or I will hunt every last one of your demon kind down, and wipe all of you off the face of the earth." He stared at the demon. "Is that clear? Or do I have to make clear?" Kryos said with a threatening voice. "It's clear, very clear." The demon said nervously. "Now, leave and tell the others of your kind, that it be wise to do as I say. And I never want to see your face around here again." Kryos said, his tone was still threatening. The demon stumbled to it's feet and ran away to do just that, but Kyros didn't think that it was, leaving fast enough for his taste. "Did I not make myself clear?!" Kryos yelled and sent the fireball flying toward the demon. It hit the demon on the side, and the demon dissipated into a huge black cloud of smoke, which flew off in the distant. He watched it fly away until it was disappearing from his view.
"Are you okay?" Enyo asked, her voice was full of worry and concern for him. "I'm fine, mom." Kyros replied. "You look so different." Enyo said. "What? I feel the same." Kryos said shocked. "Come see for yourself." Enyo said and led him, to a small lake that pooled at the end of the river, of which that flowed through the forest, in turn, it gave life to all of the animals. She settled down at the small lake, and Kyros did the same, settling down next her. "Look at your reflection in the lake. What do you see?" Enyo said sounding very wise. "I see a Kidambura, a Kidambura different then any other. Is that Kidambura me?" Kryos said shocked, he had not realized that he looked so different. He remembered what his reflection looked like before. For he had seen it, in a perfectly smooth large and quite tall crystal in the cave earlier. He looked nothing like he had then, he looked different, unearthly, eerily, and like he was out of place in the world. "Why do I look like I don't belong anywhere?' Kryos asked his mother with fear in his voice. "I knew you would change, I could sense it." She looked deeply into his eyes. "I just knew you were different then my other Cupps." Enyo said with an air of mystery to her voice. "What do you mean, mom?" Kryos asked confused by her answer. "I mean you are a elemental Kidambura, and it shows in your mane and tail tuft." Enyo said wisely. "You mean I can control fire? Fire colored like my mane and tail tuft?" Kryos asked. "Yes." Enyo said. "But what's my purpose?" Kyros asked still confused. "You will have to find out." Enyo replied. "So, I have to go on a journey to find my purpose?" Kryos asked.
"Yes, exactly. That's why I have this for you." Enyo said and held out a leather bag. "It's fireproof." She said as he grabbed it. "Fireproof?" Kryos said. "It means it won't catch on fire." Enyo replied. "Oh." Kyros said. "I have this for you." Enyo said and held out her paw, a beautiful iridescent crystal was in it. It shimmered in the sunlight. "It's from the cave, so you can always have a piece of home with you." Enyo said as he grabbed it gently from her paw, as if he was afraid he would break it. "Thank you, mom. I'll always treasure it." Kryos said gently put it in a pocket inside the leather bag. He saw a shimmering come from one of the pockets. He opened the pocket and found a sliver cross. "Well, you can never be too careful." Enyo said. "I love it, thanks." Kryos said and put over his head. "It's fireproof too, so you don't have to worry about it melting off you." Enyo said with a wink. "I love you, mom." Kryos said. "I love you too." Enyo said and hugged him good bye. He hugged her back. "Be safe and look out for demons." Enyo said. "Mom, I have a feeling that they won't be bugging anyone, any time soon." Kryos said with a wink. "Whatever do you mean?" Enyo said. "Well, let's just say they are afraid of me, so you won't be seeing any of them anytime soon, since they don't want to feel my wrath." Kryos said. "Oh, that's convent." Enyo said winking at him.
"Go to that hill up there." She pointed to a distant hill. "There's a trail there, where Kidamburas have trekked up it before, in search of their purpose." She reached up and ruffed his fiery mane, like it was still hair. "Don't worry, all of them came back after finding their purpose. Their paw-prints will lead you to your destiny, I'm sure of it." Enyo said sounding older and wiser in spirit then she was. "Mom, I'm not worried. But I am little nervous." Kryos said feeling a little anxious about leaving. "It'll be fine, I know it." Enyo said and her words comforted him. "I should be going now. Good bye, mom." Kryos said sadly. "Yes, you should. Good bye, my son." She hugged him tightly. "Please be safe and look out for demons for me." Enyo said with a caring, warm smile. "I will, mom." Kryos said, and smiled warmly back at her. "Good bye, have a nice trip!" Enyo said and waved good bye, as Kryos walked toward the hill. "Good bye, see you later, Mom!" Kryos said as he walked toward the tree covered hill.
He went into a brisk run as the hill came into view. He saw a flutter of wings out the corner of his eye, and a butterfly landed on his nose, as he went into a brisk walk. The trail was in front of him. "Well, Hi there. I remember you." Kryos said to the butterfly. It was the same one that had landed on his paw, earlier before the demon had shown up, for it had the same beautiful design. It slowly open and closed it's wings, as if it was using him as a warm stone to catch to sunlight, which heated up it's wings. He was amazed that that it hadn't been hurt by his flames and that it wasn't scared of him.
Why isn't it scared of me? Oh wait, I must taste the same as I did before my appearance changed. Mom said that they taste with their feet. The butterfly took flight, hovering next to him, and he started walking again. He looked at the ground before him.
Where are those paw-prints? He stumbled over a rock, and saw a Kidambura paw-print in front of him. The paw-print was indented into the ground, he could see the main pad, and all of four of the toes in the ground of the trail. He stepped forward and his eyes closed.
What's happening? He saw the forest as it was years ago. A group of Kidamburas walked the trail, mothers, fathers, cupps, and teens. He even saw elderly looking adult Kidamburas, walking with the group. It was like a disaster had forced them to move and follow this path to safety. He then saw many seasons of dry spells pass before his eyes, and the paw-prints were made permanent, into the trail by the seasons. His eyes opened.
What was that?He continued to walk, with the butterfly still hovering near by. Hours passed, until he came upon a new set of tracks. His eyes closed and he saw coalitions of Kidambura brothers, as they walked side by side on the trail. He also saw others like him, Kidamburas who were by themselves on the trail, as they trekked in search of their purpose. His eyes fluttered open.
It happened again, I saw the past. He walked forward a few steps and saw the past again. This time, it was another group, very different from the first that he had saw. It was a family group like before, but they varied in colors as well as in size. Glowing eyes looked out at them from the shadows. In that minute, he knew what happened to them, demons had killed them. His eyes opened quickly out of fear.
That was unsettling.. He continued to walk on, the butterfly flying, hovering by his side. Suddenly as he started to feel all alone, he felt the brush of fur against his, like all of Kidamburas that had walked the trail before him, were suddenly walking by his side. He felt his fear and loneliness disappear, he felt as if he was one of many, as if he was in a pack. A pack of Kidamburas, loyal to each other, there to protect the weak and young, and to fight as one. He saw the Kidamburas who walked by his side, some were in some of the coalitions of Kidambura brothers that he had seen, and some were the ones who walked alone. But all were the spirits of those who had died on their way back home.
These Kidamburas must had found their purpose, right? A flashback of the past, showed him that they had indeed, but the demons had killed them on their way back down the trail. A chill went down his spine, they lost their lives trying to get back home. Who's to say that it wouldn't happen to him? But yet, some how he didn't feel that it would happen. These spirits were protecting him, as he continued on his journey. But of course, he hadn't seen any demons because of his threat to them. But there were vampires and werewolves to content with.
He looked into his leather bag, and saw that there was berries of many kinds in one pocket, and a sliver bottle of holy water in another. There were also wooden stakes in another pocket, and a sliver canteen full of water in the last. Little leaf notes were attached to the sliver bottle of holy water, the canteen, and the wooden stakes. On the sliver bottle, it said: "Never know when you'll need this to ward off a demon. - Love, Mom." Kryos smiled warmly, it just was nice to know that she cared. The other two notes said: "Just in case of vampires. - Mom" And "Stay hydrated. - Mom" He tucked the three leaf notes to a small inner pocket of the bag, and took a drink from his canteen to quench his thirst. Since he had suddenly realized after all of that walking, that he should drink some water. After all, he had been walking for hours. He closed the canteen and put it back in his bag, and started walked again. He still felt the Kidambura spirits walking by his side, their fur brushing his as he walked. He glanced to his right, and saw the butterfly still flying gracefully next to him. He walked for a while and looked up the sky, for he heard bird songs. He saw a flock of ravens as they flew off, flying high above the forest, traveling toward the east, as the sun shone high up in eastern sky. It looked as if no time at all had passed. He was confused, for the sun was the same place as when he left.
Oh well, maybe only an hour had passed, not hours like I first though. WIP, will finish later today.
