Why?:
As a small child, she grew up loving water. She was also somewhat of an athlete, but she didn't really like ball-related sports. Naturally, she was compelled to attempt water sports. Surfing caught her eye, but she never quite got the hang of it, though she loved doing it. When she heard of bodyboarding, she figured she could try it and see if she could master that instead. She did. And she loved it even more than surfing. With bodyboarding, she got to be closer to the water. (When she's not playing sports, she loves diving under the water and swimming.) Even after trying a bunch of other water sports, bodyboarding holds a special place in her heart.

Free-diving is her favourite water sport because it allows her to challenge her limits and also to be surroused by the calm of the water - it's a whole other world where she can just relax and be herself. By using her self control, Cress competes against herself to extend her breathing time underwater so she can see more of the amazing underwater life.

As she was a child, she idolized the way others drives them and doing tricks. Sinc than she is dreaming about driving one by her self.

Not only does it share the first part of her species' name, but even though Bast doesn't have wings, she loves to fly! Nothing beats the feeling of soaring through the air behind a boat, with the water spraying your face and the ocean swirling beneath you.
