These creatures are loveingly known as Mask Merits. Each one has a unique mask, I don't know what's under said mask though since they haven't even let me get close enough to try. They don't eat but I have heard them talk, their voices very, though they all have a mettalic tang. The bigest one I'v seen is as tall as a cow, but I saw some smaller ones to. Merits travel in packs ussally sticking with others with the same mask color, the tail and the bits on the arms are made of the same material as the mask a Merit is wearing.

Personality ;; Amauro is who you'd call a strange Merit. He is somewhat tricky to describe, as his personality is hidden behind layers of silence. His language is unknown. Some say he speaks only when he needs to. Others think he never speaks at all. In truth, he considers silence a language, and he will mostly indicate things using his tail. Because of that, few know what his voice is like.

Even so, Amauro is also an intelligent Merit, known to love all forms of art and creativity. His creations vary from strange masks he would never wear to capes and cloths galore. He loves the art of batik, using wax and coloring to 'imprint' a pattern on cloth. He enjoys this not only because it makes a good, productive pastime, but because with it, he can make all sorts of patterns. Clouds, weavings, rivers, sceneries.

Sexual orientation ;; Despite being so covered up, Amauro does have his dreams about love. He is straight, but he has only thought of himself as such because of his childhood crushes. Those times were gone now, so Amauro is left uncertain of his sexuality once more. Perhaps he is asexual now. Maybe someday his love interest will flare up again, but he is still in doubt of such.

However, his young-minded dreams were nostalgic to him now. He remembered his thoughts vividly, of a female who understood what art was to him, who could comprehend his likes and perks, a female who was not perfect, but was wonderful in her own way. Amauro does not recall who he had dreamed of specifically, but he still hopes to reunite with her once more.

Why the lion mask? ;; Amauro chose the lion mask because he thinks it represents himself; a quiet yet menacing creature with an eternal smile. The smile itself tells a story: it can be a happy smile, a savage smile, a blank smile, anything. It paints stories and tales, one that emotion would never tell. The mask, in itself, is beauty. Not the kind that many would appreciate, but Amauro thinks it fits him well.

Thus was the last sentence ever uttered from this Merit. Ever since then he became more quiet and introverted. This trait makes him seen mysterious, but in truth, he keeps vigilant only because he thinks talking is a waste of time. How does one say hello, then, when he is so closed? He simply doesn't. Tending to keep to himself, Amauro reveals little about his own.

His interest in batik was reaching a high point in which he would want to make a piece of his own. Amauro needed wax-resisting cloth, wax, and a spouted item known as canting as well as a safe workplace. He would also require somewhere to heat the wax and melt it, and lastly, somewhere to boil the cloth.

After gathering his requirements, Amauro was ready. He dragged the cloth and spread it. He intended to make several patterns, but settled on drawing a large phoenix in the center. He took the canting and began to work his magic. Tendril after tendril, he drew the parts he would want to be kept white. The shape of a tree branch began to form, and soon Amauro would move on to draw the phoenix's wings. It was a majestic creature, after all, and would be difficult to draw.

Tick, tick, tick... There was no clock, but the sound resonated clearly in Amauro's ear. As his paw held the canting and the wax poured out, his moves began to grow slower, but also more graceful. Feather after feather, he drew the phoenix's first wing. It would be mid-flight; so Amauro would have to capture the essence of quick movement and velocity.

Without a word, Amauro continued to work. His paw began to feel tired, and his body felt stiff, but his concentration did not waver. Amauro was intent on finishing this piece of art, no matter what happened.

Once he was finished — which had consumed more time than expected — Amauro was able to boil the water. He added the coloring, and after making sure the water was hot enough, placed the cloth into the water, allowing the wax to melt off, leaving a clean white trail as the lineart.

It wasn't finished yet, but Amauro knew he would make it wonderful.
