Shrimp Cats are curious animals so named because they have the front half of a cat and the back half of a shrimp. They're only a bit smaller than your average house cat, and usually live near the ocean, although they can go further inland for short periods of time as long as they don't dry out. Researchers have seen a variety of Shrimp Cats in all shapes, colors and sizes, but for some reason only a few near-white or completely white ones have been spotted...

Physical Appearance

Kittenhood
The lifecycle of a Shrimp Cat starts at, of course, kittenhood. These peculiar species of cat-shrimp hybrid are born in eggs the size of your fist and can grow quite fast until the end of this stage.

At kittenhood, your average Shrimp Cat is about the size of a small hamster to the size of a small lap dog, depending on genetics. Their eyes has not opened yet, so they are completely blind like normal kittens. However, these cats are not deaf. In fact, at birth is when their hearing is best. This is so they can find their food at a young age, should they ever be separated from their parents too early.

The average weight at this stage is anywhere from 30 lbs to 60 lbs in captivity. Yeah, these cats are quite heavy! But don't worry, this weight is all in the huge amounts of fur that a Shrimp Cat is hatched with, so they could stay alive and be warm in colder depths.

Adolescence and Adulthood
It takes quite a few years and a few things to happen for a Shrimp Cat to be considered an adult. For example, they mush shed a lot of their fur to lighten the load so they can swim up to the surface, and to also make it easier to swim. It's hard to do it with a lot of fur!

Another thing that differentiates an adult from a child is size. The average adult Shrimp Cat is about 2-3' tall. Some of the largest Shrimp Cats have been seen to grow to 8 feet tall! No, no, wait, that's just a children's tale, right?

Behavior

Shrimp Cats are usually well behaved. They are gentle and kind, until they are attacked. Their bite may be tiny, but it is sure mighty! Their tails can be used as weapons, but they can be cracked. The tails are soft, but hard at the same time... weird...
