:Form:
Fire and Ice
By Robert Frost
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
Name:
Fajrina
She is such an incredible pair of two separate color schemes, could not not simply go with a common name. I created this name myself my mixing the names Nerina and Fajra, for their meanings are 'girl of the water' and 'fiery one'. I then guess that you could say her name means 'the firery one of water'. Her pelt mixes the colors of two elements with beauty and vibrance, so I deemed it only fit for her name to as well.
Breedable:
Yes
Personality traits:
Well, Fajrina is...
•Caring
•Sweet
•Protective
•Shy
•Selfless
•Protective
She is extremely protective of Roran, and cares more about him than herself sometimes. She enjoys doing everything with him, and dreads the day when they are forced apart by time or tragedy. She's pretty quiet for the most part, small enough to lurk just out of sight, and no one would even notice her presence; except for Roran, of course. She's quite curious of humans, but doesn't really like anyone knowing. She's quirky about what she eats, and never eats unless Roran does, always looking after him.

Roran enjoys expressing his creative and athletic nature, through things such as strategic games and and sports, as well as creating unique art. He sees the world differently, and often paints what his eyes see to share with others. His favorite thing to paint by far is Fajrina, her colors are simply mesmerising to him. He sees her as opposing, yet harmonizing elements that form one, beautiful being.
Please, if you have already read this far, I would advise you to continue reading about Roran after you finish the story.
A few years ago, Roran was working in the garden, clearing out weeds. He stumbled upon a patch of bright red flowers, particularly hard to pick due to their long thorns. He grabbed a small shovel and bent down, driving it into the stem. Clear liquid shot into his eyes, searing them. He screamed in agony, scratching at his eyelids and collapsing backwards onto the ground. Blair and Dougan sprinted from the house while Sabrina kept Adair inside. They brought me in and lay me on the bed, soothing my pain with everything they could. For the next week, I was able to just barely open my eyes, but I found my vision completely gone. After a while I was able to open them for prolonged periods of time, but he found his vision in black and white, like an old movie. He attained Fajrina's vision when he bonded with her, obtaining extraordinary sight, twice as good as before. He's now able to see almost as a savant could, instantly able to tell you everything about his surroundings, down to the tiniest detail, such as the amount of dewdrops on a spiderweb ten feet away. I guess that's just Fajrina helping him make up for lost time. Story:
Sorry it's a little over a limit, but not by too much.
A sweet breath reached my lips, and I inhaled it luxuriously. My eyes opened drearily, my vision blurred. I attempted to rub it away, but the filter my eyes were putting on my surroundings remained. I found my legs sprawled in the dirt, my back against a large, warm body. I looked back to see a turquoise shape with accents of red, but couldn't make out what it was against the setting sun and through the haze. Adoring yellow eyes looked down at me, and I smiled and laid back, letting my misty eyes slide shut.
I shifted my leg, no longer feeling soft dirt but rather rough bed sheets. My eyes flew open and I gripped the project behind my head, finding it only to be my warm and crumpled pillow. I gasped in quick breaths, and tears began to flow freely down my face. I stifled a sob, emotion eliminating from me because of how much I had wanted my dream to be true. It felt so perfect, so right, I didn't understand why life couldn't be that way, peaceful and beautiful. I couldn't understand what the object behind me had been, but I simply had to find out.
I pulled on my riding jeans, wanting something protective yet flexible, and slid on my heavy brown boots. I found a thin white tee balled up on the floor, and wrapped my favorite red scarf around my neck for protection from vicious bugs. My hair was good enough, and I just let my fingers have a quick run through the front to keep it from my face. It fell back anyways. I huffed a sigh and grabbed my pack, throwing in something for me to eat later.
"Blair! Dugan! I'll be back later!" I yelled, walking briskly for the door. I felt someone grab my arm and turned, unsure of who to expect because of the many members of my household. There stood Blair, her fingers gently latched onto my elbow. She looked sleepy, a foggy glaze still on her eyes, but a sweet smile upon her face. "Are you okay?" I began to stutter an answer, and she suddenly looked worried, knowing I'm frazzled when I stutter. She hooked her arms around my middle and gave me a gentle squeeze, laying her head on my chest. I became quiet, and hugged her back. "Please just be back before sunset, okay?" I held her close to reassure her. "I promise, I will be back soon."
I latched my bag closed and slung it onto my shoulder, securing the straps by tightening them onto my shoulders. I started a slow jog, a speed I could keep up for miles. I fell into the correct pace and looked into the trees, searching for a place for me to enter the forest. My vision was somewhat poor, but was able to spot a weak spot in the tree line a little ways away, and headed for it. I reached it quickly, and ducked down to enter. My eyes dashed from plant-to-plant, taking in their beauty. It saddened me though, thinking about the day when the forest lost its color to me; something from a poisonous plant shot up into my eye once, and I somehow developed monochromacy. I can only remember the color of some things, like my favorite scarf, or Blair's eyes.
I wondered where to go, and just decided to walk strait in order to avoid getting lost. I felt something tap against my leg, and reached into my pocket. It was cool and sleek, and I pulled out a small compass; it belonged to Blair, I recognized it. I smiled, she must have been thinking of me and slipped it into my pocket. I was heading South now, which meant the house was to the North. I gently replaced it, not wanting to lose the sentimental object. I let out a heavy sigh, knowing my chance was slim to find what the thing in my dream was, when the only thing I knew was the color and general size. I kept going, a sliver of chance keeping my hopes alive in my heart.
How far I'd gone before I stopped, I don't know, but my trek was suddenly halted when a reached a large cliff, it's face stretching down below me, releasing a stream over its edge as a small waterfall. I saw something colorful glimmer over the gray water, and had to take another look.when my eyes found the spot again, it was gone. I rubbed my eyes, not believing what I had seen. It wasn't possible, but I had to make sure. I began digging through the supplies in my bag, and found a coil of rope at the bottom of the jumble. I attached it to a large rock and threw it over the edge, watching as it fell. I gripped the edge of the cliff and stepped down slowly, ready to scale the rock face.
I climbed quickly, not wanting the figure to get to far away. I held to my rope tightly, having no harness to hold onto. I was about halfway when I couldn't find a ledge below me, but could extend my foot just enough for it to find a small rock. I touched down and let off a little weight; that was my biggest mistake. The rock broke off and my grip released, suddenly feeling myself plummeting down. I had mere seconds before I hit the stream, the waterfall pounding down on me. I hadn't caught a breath, and struggled against the force above me. I felt something grab my scarf and yank, pulling me towards the surface.
I was dragged the shore and sat up, coughing up a mass of water. I turned to see my savior, but couldn't comprehend what I was seeing. It was a petite Elkrin doe, standing curiously above me. She was, so vibrant, her colors... Colors! She was beautiful hues of blue and green, with fiery feathers on her shoulders and hips. I stood slowly, feeling giddy, using my hands to slowly push myself up. I approached cautiously, still in awe and wonder. I reached out slowly, but the doe didn't budge. My fingers reached out , but stopped just before her. Her head tilted to the side, and she stiffed my hand. She forced her nose into my hand, our eyes both flying wide the moment we touched. Then, something absolutely extraordinary happened.
Color seeped down from our bodies into the earth, soaking into the dirt and spreading, crawling up the plants like paint in reverse. The plants became incredibly vivid, the color just as I had recalled them. My favorite was the last part; the sky. It was sunset, and the purple's and orange's were soaked up by the sky, trailing into a dark blue sky, streaked with billions of sparkling stars. My left cheek itched, but a dared not move. Everything became still, color restored. My hand stuck, and i looked deeply into her eyes, their depths drawing me in. "There would only be one name to fit you, a name to be unique; Fajrina." I removed my hand and stumbled backwards, only to be caught by Fajrina. She eased me to the ground and laid down behind me, and I snuggled against her.
This became our favorite thing to do together, no matter where, we would snuggle up and watch the sunset together. After the bond, I later returned home, finding Blair irate at my tardiness. As soon as she saw me, she sprinted towards me, and her hand flew to my cheek when she reached me. "What happened?!" I came to find out I had three consecutively sized dots going across my cheek under my left eye, just as Fajrina has. I put my hand over hers, and looked into her eyes. "Your eyes are more green than I remember, have you been crying?" She stifled a sob and wrapped herself around me, squeezing me tightly. We've always been very close, and I knew she had worried herself sick. She didn't let go until I told her everything, and then brought Fajrina and I both inside for some late dinner.
Art:
My first perception of this tropical beauty was my two favorite apposing elements; fire and ice. I drew Fajrina on oekaki, but I made the backgrounds using gimp.

Look at that! She climbed up and tree just to walk over the water on a branch; silly girl.

Naww, looks like Roran didn't make it to watch the sun set completely, he had a long day, and must have bonked out. Twilight is the favorite time he loves to share with Fajrina, but she knows he's tired and won't wake him up.
