Fern was born in the deep woods.
Where the moss grows, bats fly, glowing mushrooms bloom.
Fern looked like a deer, a normal ordinary deer. When he was born he stood up faster then other newborns.
Years past, Fern was grown up, he went close to a glowing mushroom, he touched it with his hoof. He thought it was safe so he took a bite out of it, Fern shouted, birds flew up.
In a sunset the sky was clear, leaves started to fall, the ground was shaking, rocks were bouncing. A hoof stood up, and another and another and another. Glowing blue eyes, antler horns, and fur like Okami. He had well-muscled legs, arms and stomach, his tail was long and hairy. He trotted down the slopes not knowing he has changed. He took a quick sip of water with his eyes closed. Once he opened his eyes Fern yelled again. Too frightened he stood back from the water and slowly approached it.
He looked at his reflection, turning his head side to side. He stomped the water hoping it was a dream. “Wake up, Wake up” he told himself to, he started bucking the air and bumped into the tree, he then realized it wasn’t a dream, he looked back at the water and laid down. He curled up into a ball and slept.
The next morning he woke up “Phew, it really was a dream” he said to himself, he drank some water and saw his reflection. Fern sat down with a dull face “Argh”. Fern needed to get used to his new appearance, he wanted to know what his new self can do.
Fern stomped his hoofs and something came up onto the floor, It said “ Elkrin” He heard of that name, Ferns mother told him a story about them each time he felt nervous or unhappy.
“Elkrin’s fight off evil, they own the glowing mushrooms you see.” Fern thought of the whole story He walked up a giant rock and all Elkrin’s hoarded towards him “Hail the lord”. Fern now knew he was the new lord of the Elkrin’s. He stood up solid and he knew he had to protect his hoard, they ran off together towards the sunset and the future now depends on it.
