The Woven Memories

An Emerald Tribal Elkrin has been discovered in the ancient forgotten ruins of the Celtlands. These Elkrin are known for their memory. Each person, each happy and sad moment is worn on her coat for all to see. The tribal lines tell many stories. With each new memory another line or symbol will weave itself into the grand design. The oldest Tribal Elkrin are covered in intricate lines. Their numbers are very few and many have forgotten them. But they have not forgotten us. Search out this Elkrin, perhaps it may even accept you as it's rider?

And what significance does this name hold?
Nikko means "sunlight", which, for me at least, is one of the strongest relatives to memory. Sunlight brings warmth, and warmth is associated with good, with hope and with joy. Sunlight may mean summer, when days are long and carefree, or it may mean simply light, synonymous to good. Whatever it means, it always says something happy, always makes me think of good times had and yet to be had. What better choice for a Memory than the very source of so many memories?

Nikko may still have her own fears, although what they are she hides well, but unlike most, she does not run from what frightens her, nor try to make it go away; She challenges it. She has realised over time that life doesn't do what you want it to do, and so she refuses to do what life wants. She is a strong spirit, a fighter at heart, and she will not be forced into submission.

Eivor is a unisex Scandinavian name which means wisdom.

Having memories of all kinds, I believe that this Elkrin behelds wisdom far beyond most humans or Elkrins.
It sounds elegant yet gentle, and to me it surely fits this lovely doe~

Personality:
Altruistic
After living for such a long, ancient time, and seeing others being delighted and suffering, she came to a point where she wanted everyone to be happy forever.
Instead of being selfish and achieving her personal ambitions, instead Eivor wishes the happiness of all of those around her- and will surely make some sacrifices if she believes that that can make you get beautiful memories of your own.

Solemn
She will smile at a lovely scene, or give a little chuckle at a joke, but most of the time she thinks of all the memories she holds, and feels the tragedies of others as if they were her own.
She sees the world as it is, and understands the sadness and pains that it may give to others.

Loving
For all gentle beings- friendly riders, curious runes, or other Elkrins- Eivor is loving and caring to all of them, and wishes them to have a happy life with treasurable memories. She rarely hates anybody or anything, and always approaches things first with a kind, soft smile.

Serene
Gentle and soft with her words and movement, Eivor always carries a small smile on her lips. When she speaks, her words are calming and soothing, and never she insinuates or does anything that may cause somebody to be hurt mentally, or physically at all.

Understanding
She has seen many petty dilemmas, or even serious ones which put entire societies in danger so far; no matter what, she will listen to you sincerely and will be understanding and helpful. Eivor is the kind you get rely on when you have hardships, as she will aid you and understand you truthfully.

The Memories on her Face
Away from the ruins of ancient buildings which were now crumpled and faded away naturally into the forest, the graceful doe perked her ears, listening to the sounds which softly hummed through the leaves. She heard a trickling of water- perhaps there was a stream nearby which wasn't frozen by the cold- and the flutters of some birds. Or, rather, a feathered rune.

Being slightly interested as runes were always lively companions who shared many fun incidents, and gave her memories that were never recorded on her shimmering pelt. She raised her head to the treetops, expecting a small dragon to be perched up there smiling down at her with intelligent bright eyes.

However, she saw nothing except for the bare branches of winter. Then she heard another soft rustle, and this time she could locate that it was coming from beneath a nearby tree, slightly buried by the white snow. It didn't seem quite right, and Eivor stepped near in concern.
What she saw was a small little rune with beautiful turquoise and blue colors; however, it seemed badly, badly hurt. It would probably freeze or bleed to death in the cold weather; but there was nothing Eivor could do for it. She anxiously looked around in all directions, and them remembered a human village around the forest. She carefully put the rune on her back, and swiftly ran through the bare trees and the snow to the humans.

She had to be careful. She didn't enjoy getting the attention, and not all people were generously warm hearted towards animals.
She searched desperately, as she felt the little rune panting and nearly dying. Stay alive, little one- please survive- she pleaded silently. Then Eivor heard a rustle, and perked her ears up. Standing there was a young human girl, her blond hair frosted with new snow and her cheeks blushed in red.

Her eyes flickered with fear at the two seemingly wild and magical beings, but stood still. Eivor saw gentleness in her eyes, and with intuition she trusted her. She gently lowered the rune to her arms, and nuzzled her softly as an indirect language of- Take care of this little rune...please. Though the girl was shocked, she hurriedly carried the injured rune to her home, tears in her eyes.

After months of anticipation and worry, Eivor passed by the humans again. She lowered herself into the forage, eyeing them with slight curiosity. Among them she caught sight of the blond girl, and there was a blue rune perched on her shoulder, healthy and content. Eivor's heart fluttered in joy and gratitude; she loved the girl for her care, and the rune for surviving and being happy, as Eivor wished.

Now Eivor carries a special tribal marking under her eyes; golden yellow for the girl, and light blue for the rune, and always remembers the incident with pleasure. She never forgot them even after years after both's passing.

Memories on her back
Years of her life Eivor had spent on the Oriental Isles, where the creative and cultural people smiled at her the rare occasions they saw her. She had also luckily crossed over to the mainlands in some unbelievable incidents, and also there she met lovely civilizations and runes and various Elkrins.

Most markings on her enchanted pelt were of...enjoyable, delightful memories with brightness and light and love.
Until then the young Elkrin was inexperienced and rather goofy, always bright and shallow.

She didn't understand the entire concept of suffering or sadness or terror; for she didn't have memories about them at all. But one day, a rather dark night which gave an ominous feel, she felt a shimmering on her marking-less, green back.
Eivor turned around, her ears perked, and saw yellow and sky blue markings shimmering on her coat. As they materialized and the light faded to leave vivid markings, her intelligent mind deciphered the memories represented by those markings.

It was one unlike anything she had ever seen or had before.
It spoke of a misunderstood Elkrin, damned because of her unusual darkness she carried in her being and her magic. In fact that were simply her physical traits; she was a gentle and loving Elkrin, who wanted to have a simple life with a caring rider and perhaps a loving mate.

However because of those intuitive stereotypes she was remembered as a harbringer of horror, and eventually died alone, never reaching any of her small, simple dreams at all.

Eivor was filled with pity and sympathy, and wished that she could be the unlucky Elkrin's friend, perhaps, but as the new markings on her told her, the memories were those of the past. There was nothing she could do, but carry the memories-forever- and hope that no such unfair sadness will ever happen again.

Since then Eivor has pondered and brooded many times, wondering what she could do with her memories
To make Eldamore a much happier place for all Elkrins and Runes. At times she felt foolish; she was just one Elkrin. But always she tried to at least help the ones around her.

And when posisbly depressing memories turned into bright ones, she felt comfort.
