(Describe your encounter with this illusive Elkrin)
I looked up at the scorching sun, my legs aching and my head spinning. The day had been hard on me, sadly to say, and the sun was going down at last. I wished that I had a rune, but I had yet to find "The One" rune that was perfect for me. I made my aching legs climb up to the top of a small hill. The area here had dark dirt, and tall, though, creamy-grey grass. I looked down, and there, at the edge of the Dark Plains, was a small town. It had welcoming lights, and the houses were built out of white blocks of stone, slightly stained by dirt, and the roofs were red and brown, a good sight. I willed myself to carry on, and entered the first inn that I could find. I quicky asked for one room, and a hot meal. All around me, there were men and women, laughing, talking, and singing, some were more than a bit tipsy. As I sat at a small wooden table, flipping through my journal, and recording the day's events, and drinking a warm, vegetable soup, with hot bread, I noticed that everyone had quieted down a little. This, of course, sparked my curiosity. I looked up, and saw a large man with white hair and a long beard, stand up.
" I saw the Black Tygre again! I swear it on my life, it's true!" He growled. At this, the crown began to chatter exitedly. I listened closely to the nearest couple, who were talking eagerly.
" A Black Tygre! They left us long ago! How could Ben have seen such a thing! It must have been the light playing tricks on him!"
" But it could have happened! It could have! A Black Tygre! That's wonderful! This is adding onto the list of other sightings!" Then, I could hear no longer, for the crowd was loud, and the two were talking quietly. I had decided by then, that I would go check out the Dark Plains for myself tommorrow, in the late afternoon, I should think. I should dedicate myself to finding out more about this Black Tygre, a species of Elkrin I belive. But for now, I need to catch a few winks.

Here I was, walking in the Dark Plains, for I had heard of a mysterious shadow, that only appeared at the corner of one's eye. If you turned to look, there was nothing there. A dry wind rustled the grass, the dried blades catching the light, making the plains appear like it was covered in a silent, silvery wave. The sky was dark, blotted out by multitudes of dry, dark clouds. I saw a flicker in the corner of my eye, just a shadow, the flash of antlers, the thudding of hooves. Was this a fabled Black Tygre Elkrin? They seemed to be mere flickers, whisps of darkness. They once covered the plains, a faint image in the breeze. Now, they were gone, or so it seemed. Most species of Elkrin do not number as much as they did before. The Black Tygres, origianally hard to see, dissapeared altogether, or so the locals say. I kept walking, pretending to not know that something was there. I carefully faced forward the entire time, but I continued to see glimpses. A flash of antlers here, and long whip-like tail, a pale cream-grey stripe. This was a male Black Tygre Elkrin, a majestic and strong beast. He stopped occasionally, to glance behind him. The Elkrin carefully, and slowly got nearer, but he still kept a wary distance. He was smart, I could see, and he would not be easily tamed. As I set up a small camp-site for the night, I was carefull to keep a lamp at hand. There will be shadows, no matter how much light, but in the glare of a bright light, the shadows were easily seen. So, when everything was ready, I pretended to go into my shelter, and I took the lamp with me. I also pretended to sleep, then muffled the lamp's light, so it appeared that it had gone out. At this, the Elkrin seemed to get nearer, more confidedent, but still wary. He curiously nuzzled the equipment, and I observed through a small crack. If not for the moonlight shining on his fur, tracing out his form, I would not have seen him at all. He was silent, and almost invisible, like a phantom of sorts. That's it! I'll call him Phantom if I ever catch and tame him. I quietly tried to get as close as possible, creeping through the entrance to my shelter. Of course, I held the lamp, and carefully gripped the thick cloth that muffled it. The Elkrin flicked it's ear, and it's head instantly shot up. I quickly revealed my light, and caught the Black Tygre around the neck as it attempted to fade. It panicked at this, and reared up onto it's hind legs. I stubbornly clung on, and as I did not have a rune to help me, I tried to guide it over to a bag. It held items that would help me catch him, but I needed to calm him down. I spoke quietly in his ear, like one would a horse, quiet words, with no fear or aggresion in them. He seemed to hear that, and calmed down enough to let me guide him over to the equippment. As I prepared to trap him at that place for the night, I saw that I had let go of him, and he was gazing at me in an odd sort of way. Did he give his trust so easily? Or was it how I had spoken to him? So, carefully, I put down everything, led him over to the lamp, lit a fire, and fed him. Even though he appeared strong, this Elkrin was weak, and hungry. As he finished, he lay his head down upon my lap, and let me stroke his soft, silky fur. From then on out, we have always been together, through good and bad, and it is because of him that I am here to tell you this tale now.
