Short Story/Art (not required but could boost your form :3):
Sorry it Isn't necessarily "short" but I just got excited and kept typing!
The wind howled like a wolf and blew me around a bit. But I knew I had to keep going, if I stopped now, not only would I get stuck in the storm, that I couldn't control, but I would never get to her in time, in a time of need. But if I am going to tell you this story right, I have to start from the beginning.
My name is Lyn. I am able to control lightning storms. I was the oldest of four vindex pups. After having her litter, my mother never fully got better after that. And my father died from a large battle wound soon after we where born. He got it while hunting for my mom, my siblings and I. He had to go hunt on another packs teritory to find us food due to a shortage in our packs territory. Shortly after getting a kill that would be able to feed all of us, something we hadnt had on a while, he was attacked by the alpha male of the pack, and it left him with a large gash down his left shoulder, that never got better either. So I acted as the mother, hunter, and protector of my family starting at a young age.
As we grew, my mother stayed sick, not getting any better, but at least she wasn't getting any worse. I hunted, protected, and repeated everyday. One of the few things that could still make my poor mother smile was when I created a lightning storm. She loved watching the lightning, said it reminded her of when we where just pups, my father was still alive, and she wasn't very sick. So we grew bigger, stronger, and smarter. And my mother stayed the same.
When we where about 3, we moved away from home. We all went off to find new homes. I hated to part with them, and I knew they hated to part too, but it was time to go our seperate ways. I had taught them how to hunt and protect thselves. And we where all great at it. So I had great faith that they would be okay. But me, I stayed close to home to hunt and protect my still sick mother. My sibling came and went to see me and to see how our mother was doing. They would tell us how they where doing and where they where living so mabey sometime, when my mother was getting better, I could come see them.
My mother had started to get better, elated, I went to tell my siblings. My sister Kiara was the closest to home, so I went to tell her first. I took me a day and a half to reach her, but I told her the news and she left immediately to see our mother. My brother Jasper lived two days and two nights from Kiara. When I finally got there, I told him about our mother, and he too left immediately. My brother Hallow was a different story. He had always kept to himself, it seemed that he could care less how our mother was. He was only half a day from Jasper's den.He didn't look very happy to see me, but I wasnt surprised. I was hoping the news that our mother was getting better would make him happy. But I was wrong, really wrong. It make him even more angry. "I don't care about our mother! What did she ever do for us? She just layed around and coughed alot!" I was shocked. "Our mother was sick, Hallow! What did you excpect from someone who was dying?" I asked, amazed that he would say such a thing. He didnt reply. He just stalked away into his den. "I'm sorry you feel this way." I told him, "If you finally realize that our mother really did everything for us, come see us." That was all I could say, and I walked out and back to see our mother.
I hadn't gotten that far from Hallow's den when I saw Jasper running towards me. "I am so glad I found you!" he exclaimed. "Hey Jasper." I said, still upset with Hallow. "Don't be upset with Hallow," said Jasper. I always make the same face when I am upset with Hallow. It is sort of a " why can I never win with him?" kind of look. " If he won't listen, he doesn't deserve to be problem in you life" said Jasper. "We have something much more important to worry about!" he exclaimed. "Oh no!" I gasped. "What is it? Not mom is it?" Jasper just nodded his head. "No" I breathed. "Let's go!" I then exclaimed. "We can't waist any time! Is Kiara still there!" I asked. "Yea, she is doing the best she can." he said. "She is trying to use the herbs around the den you showed us." Jasper said. We both bolted off to out mother.
Well, now that your all caught up, i will tell you where I am now. Me and Jasper where now nearing Kiara's den. Hoping and praying that the two days and two nights it had taken us to get here, plus the day and a half it would take us to get back to our mother, wouldnt be too long. "What if we are too late?" I asked Jasper. "We won't be," he said. "But how can you be sure?" I couldn't help but ask him. "You taught all of us so well that I know Kiara will be able to help her long enough for us to get there." he said. And we continued on our way.
When we finally reached our mother, Kiara ran out to us and gave us both hugs. "I am so glad you are here!" Kiara exclaimed. "Lyn, I used the techniques with the herbs you showed me! But I only know a few of them!" Kiara said hurriedly. "Its okay," I told her, " I'm here to help now." We walked into my mother to find her laying at the back of the den, coughing hard and shaking. "So I leave for a few days to tell everyone that you are getting better and you get worse." I laughed to my mother between her coughing fits. She laughed too, but just for a bit, until she broke into another coughing fit. I went to walk outside of the den to collect some honey for her cough and some peppermint for her fever, and as I neared the mouth of the cave, I saw him.
Hallow was standing at the mouth of our cave silhouetted by a lightning bolt I had sent down for my mother. "Hallow!" I gasped. I ran over and hugged him. I was waiting for him to push me away, but instead he hugged me back. "You came!" I said overjoyed. "Yea," he said " I did. I thought about what you said, and you are right, she really did do everything she could for us." I looked at him with a happy smile on my face. "She is over there," I said, motioning my head towards where she was laying. "I am going to grab some honey and peppermint." I told him. And walked out. I came back a few moments later to find my three siblings sitting by my mother. I went over to her and gave her a leaf full of honey and a paw full of peppermint. And I too sat around her. She slowly sat up and smiled. I hadn't brought any lightning in the past few minutes, so I was confused as to why she was smiling. But then she spoke, her soft, sweet voice making us long to listen. "Look at you four" she said gesturing at us with a bit less shaky paw. "You all came together to help me, even you Hallow." she said looking kindly at her son's face. "All of you came and worked together through one of my darkest hours." she said softly. "But seeing all of you working together, that is the best medicine this world has given me." said my mother with a happy smile. And she stood up for the first time in almost four years, and walked to the mouth of the cave, then she motioned for us to follow. We all looked at each other, even Hallow, and walked out of the mouth of the cave together and sat down out side next to our mother. "Lyn, if you would please." my mother said looking at me. I brought some lightning and accompanied it with thunder, and we all smiled. Turns out, family and friendship can really be the best medicine of all.
Other (just stuff you wanna say XD not required just here): I adore her, now I must excuse myself while I pick my jaw up off the floor!
