"Ruby Red Rune"

The Ruby Rune is a species of the jeweled lizard runes, and all have one thing in common. Their especially long and sticky tongues that are excellent at catching their favorite prey, bugs! The Ruby Rune is a crimson scaled dragon with an especially stark blue contrasting tongue. Their saliva has a special type of bacteria which helps stun larger bugs, such as centipedes or great horned beetles, to make attacking them much easier. Their thick hide is excellent against harsh terrain and weather, and these Runes can be mainly found in the deserts of Eldemore or among the vast plains. What makes the Ruby Rune unique from the other jeweled lizards is that this dragon has two sets of eyes, four in all! These keen eyes are made to detect any movement or heat from it's prey and it does tend to be an bit unnerving how the dragon is able to move each eyeball individually. Having four eyes stare in all different directions is quite the entertaining sight to see, but gives this dragon a great advantage over any fast flying insect with it's amazing eyesight and it's nerve numbing saliva.

{I guess you probaly want to know why on earth I would choose a name like, Goliath for the Ruby Lizzard rune. The problem is, that I have no idea what so ever. I really loved the name, and when I saw him, to mean he was instantly "Goliath". Of course I had some other ideas on what to name this little boy, such as Squirt. Squirt was a cute name, but he wasn't "squirt" to me at least. I was also think crimson, but it sounded a little on the girly side, and Goliath would not want that. So Goliath it was, and I am glad I chose that name, it seems to suit him more by the second.}

Goliath is a extremely disorganzided rune. Poor little Goliath, running around trying to figure what he needs to do next. Gypsy likes to help, but it's not enough. Seriously, if you take a look into his hoard(don't you dare tell Goliath that I am inviting to look at his hoard!), it has nothing organzized. Random little things that he has seen and liked litter his hoard.

Example:
Goliath headed over towards his little hoard, random little objects scattered his little hoard. Goliath shook his head and grabbed a marble, no that wasn't it. Where on earth did he put that special rock?[/quote]

{Worrywart}
Goliath is always worring if something doesn't go exactly as planned. Always fretting and Gypsy always trying to get Goliath to do something that is a little risky. He often starts to get nervous, when he is waiting for someone. First it'll start with him starting to be restless, tapping his toes onto the floor to a iregular beat. Then he'll start pacing, then his 4 eyes will dart around like crazy.

Example:
Goliath pranced into the outskirts of the forest. Gypsy and him had decided to meet up in the woods to play a little bit. He frowned, Gypsy shouldn't have been there at least a minute ago. His feet immedaintly began to tap nervously, and he suddenly began to pace around the forest, before he knew it his eyes where darting around like crazy and his lip began to quiver. Where was Gypsy? he thought nervously.

{Sweet}
Goliath is a very sweet and loving little rune, before he says something, he always makes sure to think how we would like it if someone told him that. He always gets along and is always making sure that everyone is included in a game or activity. He often goes ahead and makes some small talk, just to get his new friend talking and comfortable.

Example:
Goliath watched as Gypsy sat in the background looking shyly at the floor her flute held close to her. Goliath quickly scooted over towars her. He sat himself down next to her and tipped his head kindly, and began nervously. "Gypsy? Do you want to go and and walk in the forest? Please bring your flute, your music the most beatiful music I've ever heard,".
Gypsy smiled. And got up and followed him into the forest.

{Shy}
Himself, Goliath is a little bit on the shy side, even if he is a super sweet and kind, he can be pretty shy sometimes. Goliath is usaully pretty self-conscious, what if he trips? What if he falls over? What if everyone laughs at him? He often lets those thoughts get to him, and stop him from playing a game or doing something with his friends.

Example:
Goliath watched as all the other rune dragons, played a game of tag. He smiled and told himself, that he was going to go over there and join the game. Then all his thoughts came rushing back, what if he tripped? He was always tripping? Or worse, he fell over? And everyone laughed at him? Or maybe if he missed a rune dragon and he slipped? He sat down worridely, there was no way he was going over there to play. That game had too many risks.

{Forgetful}
Goliath is super forgetful, he is always forgetting something. Was he supposed to be back home with Gypsy? Or was he walking home along? Like being disorganized, he is scattered and always forgetting something!(Am not!-Goliath).

Example:
Goliath look up at the sky, oops, it was already dark! He had to get home! With Gypsy? Or did he go alone? Or was he allowed to stay later? Goliath shook his head worriedly and began to pace around and tap his toe on his head, despartely trying to remeber.

Personality is a Wip!

Why do you wish to have him/her:
I have always, loved Rune Dragons. I know I already have my little girl, Gypsy, but I thought and convinced myself that Gypsy would need a little friend. I found this little boy, when I was checking rune dragons(I check everyday, I know I am a total stalker cx) when I saw this the ruby lizzard rune. He was completely adorable! I think quite a bit of people would be bothered with the amount of eyes he has but I adore it. It adds another thing to the ever growing list of unquine things about Goliath. Though what really sealed the deal, was his expression. I know that to some others, he doesn't look super happy but to me, he has a sort of shy and sweet smile, thats when his personality bloomed. Whenever I see him I want to squeeze him to death, okay maybe not to death, but you get my point that he is way to cute to be possible.

Where will you keep him/her:
If I won Goliath, he would defaintly have a special spot in a special thread which I made for Gypsy(sorry Gypsy, but you do have to share!). Of course, there he'd be given lots of love from me and of course his great friend Gypsy. He will get lots of art, stories and I will love him to pieces. <3 His art will be ordered, some done digitally(I'll try) and lots of traditional art will be made for him. I'll use him in anyway possible, I've never been good at roleplaying but if there is one or someone makes one for rune dragons, Goliath will be there(along with Gypsy of course). And he will no doubt, defaintly really, will have a spot in my siggnature, along with his little friend Gypsy(I know right now I have special art done of her).

Yes, he is adorable and I can defaintly see little rune babies running around and poor little Goliath running after them. He is adorable and I think he deserves a little perfect rune.

Why do you wish to have her
Well I want want Suri beaause her design is just stunning and I love the reds on her. I think she would be perfect as my first rune. I also loved the idea of a lizard rune and I have a bunch of cute ideas for drawings and stories. I also loved the feact of her having 4 eyes and thought it just made her cuter. What drew me in I think was the cute blue tounge as I think it really suited her.
Where will you keep her
I would keep her in my signature, make her own thread and join the rps. I would also make animations, stories, join rps and make sculptors. Suri would always be on my mind and she would never be left to rot somewhere. She would basicly take over my CS acount.

Suri has the weird habbit of when she`s board she`ll look all four directions and stick out her tounge. It is very amusing. She also has the weird quirk of only eating foods that are red or redish colored. She can be very picky when it comes to eating.

Iduma is a rambunctious little devil. He's always found getting into something, trying to eat something he shouldn't, or his apparent favorite past time: Trying to "sneak pounce" on Haytham. Which always fails and ends up face planting in the dirt or earning a good smack to the head by a tail. *sigh* At least Haytham's skill will stay sharp with the Ruby Rune sneaking about. I also noticed that he loves to mimic his prey before really eating it, hopping along with a grasshopper or inching in the dirt like an inch worm. Silly little thing...If its not bugs, its Riki or Haytham that become his mimicking victims. Very rarely do i see a frown on this rune's strange face, which is a nice change with all the seriousness going on now a days. Even though he's spunky, highly curious, and sometimes a little annoying, he's always smiling.
Why do you wish to have him/her:
As soon as i saw him, i loved him. The bright red of his skin, the set of four eyes instead of two, that vibrant blue tongue. Everything about him screams of something that i'd love. I know i need to find Haytham a girlfriend but i think he can appreciate a new "sparring" partner in the ways of stealth. Either that or a nice sized punching bag. lol

'Den' or 'Denny' for short.
Why this name:
The first thing which came to mind when I saw this Rune was 'fire'. Rubies are hot-coloured, and she looked fiery to me. The word 'ember' instantly came to mind, for embers glow just as she seems to. However, there was already an Ember Rune, so I looked for a translation. In French, an ember is referred to as 'charbon ardent' which translates to 'fiery coal'. This seemed a bit of a mouthful, but I pounced upon the word 'ardent' which also means 'passionate', 'fiery' or 'fervent'. And that seemed to sum her up in a nutshell.

Expansion:
Denny never does anything half-heartedly. Born rambunctious, she lives life to the fullest and does her best to bring happiness. Her heart is in the right place, but Denny is a bit of a clown and a terrible meddler, so sometimes she causes more harm than good, but she never means to, and always tries to fix what she has broken (although often this results in even more mayhem and disaster).
Ardent is quick to make friends, and even quicker to defend those friends. Placid and friendly by nature, when a threat is near, Denny is always ready to defend her friend, and would do anything for the human who she chooses as her bearer. Her extremely keen eyesight makes her a fantastic watch Rune, and she will click and whir frantically at the first sight of danger. Of course, she is also very happy to fly to the attack, clawing, bashing and even licking her opponent into submission. She'll carry on at this stubbornly, only ceasing until she gets a result or is dragged away.
She may be small, but there's no need to worry about her. She's a robust, tough little Rune, suited to deserts and hardship. She can hold her own, and frequently does, with very little regard for the consequences. She acts on a whim, and is usually surprised by the outcome of her actions.
Fighting is not ideal to her, though. Ardent is a cheerful, sunny, playful little rune, all licks and cuddles and purring, whirring affection. She is far happier to turn the side of her bearer's face numb in her adoration than to be involved in a fight, and she enjoys adventuring and goofing off more than conflict. She is sunny, trusting and warm-hearted.
Give her a bug, and you are almost certainly a friend.
If Ardent was to be given a place in human community, she would be the neighbourhood gossip: plump and rosy, jolly and industrious, but completely unable to keep her snout out of everybody's business, and even less able to keep her thoughts and her opinions about what she sees to herself.

Why do you wish to have her:
Like so many others, it was the eyes which caught me. Ever since the ancient of Summer was created, I have loved this concept. I didn't dare hope that it would be applied to another rune. I was scrolling through CS on my cellphone (during English, but shh! Don't tell anyone) when I saw her. Instantly, her round cheeks and sunny smile, as well as her slanted, in-your-face-unusual eyes, named her as female, and I grinned despite myself. I clicked in to see her, and it was love. The eyes, the tongue, the build, the hot orange colours. She was perfect.
Then I read her description, and I scrambled desperately to make her fit with what I'd had in mind.
It was no good. She didn't work. I despaired, and considered waiting for customs to open.
My eyes (and my scrolling fingers) kept returning to her page, though. The more I looked at her, the more I liked her spunk and expression.
I don't care if she doesn't fit with what I had intended. I want this rune. I love everything about this little dragon. I love her tail, the claws on her wings, the shiny gems all over her, her fluffy-soft chest and, of course, those knowing eyes (which I can see her rolling skywards in frustration when she thinks that she knows better than her bearer, or moving in all sorts of derpy directions to cheer someone up).
I love this rune, and I can't pass up this chance. I'll make her work. I'll make sure that she is loved.

Where will you keep her:
Ardent will live in my Rune Dragon thread (which is currently a work in progress), in my signature, in my gallery (I'm already working on a headshot of her), on the Rune Dragon website, in roleplays, and everywhere else I can put her. She'll probably end up on my bedroom wall, actually. I just love looking at her.

Yes, possibly, but as always, I'd be selective.

Any Quirks:
Ardent's favourite bugs to eat are grasshoppers. She loves their crunch, and sees them as a challenge because they always see her coming and are usually too quick for her.
She licks as a sign of endearment, but often forgets that her tongue numbs things, so her bearer, friends and acquaintances tend to end up with dead, tingly bits when she is feeling affectionate.
Denny prefers the concept of 'fight' to 'flight'. Much like a honey badger, she often forgets her size when she has a clear opponent, and will attack anything which threatens herself or those she protects, no matter how big, strong or scary the opponent is. This earns her plenty of swats, but she is a tough little thing and barely notices.
Denny's favourite place to be is beside a fire. She stands with her back to the delightful warmth (which reminds her of days in her desert home). She watches the sky. Her hot red body blends into the roaring embers behind her, and insects, drawn to the glow, are easy prey for the cunning little dragon.
She dislikes eating butterflies and moths, and regards them as very disappointing. She finds their texture unpleasant, the powder from their wings makes her sneeze and they always look much more substantial than they are. She much prefers grasshoppers, or a nice fat beetle.
She also loves riding on fast-moving things, be they carriages, horses or the shoulders of running bearers. She likes to have the wind in her face, and lolls her tongue out in ecstasy.

Other:
So Close, But Snatched Away

A lone locust sunned itself on a rock. Fat and lazy in the heat of summer, it had dropped away from the swarm for a rest. Its little belly was full of wheat and grain, and its little buzzy, buggy mind was full of plunders to come.

A flash of red travelled between the sparse stalks of long yellow grass. The locust was unfazed, until a rustle startled it, and self-preservation kicked in. It hopped, fluttered languidly to another rock, and settled back down again.

Ardent loved a challenge, but she was never one to refuse easy pickings. When the swarm had blotted out the sun, her four yellow eyes had brightened. She'd followed them dutifully until - at last! A lone lander had dropped out of the seething mass.

And so the careful stalk, the silent sneak, had begun.

Denny traced her blue tongue across her head, neatly missing her eyes (for numb eyes would not have made locust-catching very easy at all) in greed. Locusts and grasshoppers were similar enough for her tastes, and that particular specimen was a paragon of its kind. Fat, juicy, sleek and shiny, it promised a memorable meal.

If only it would stay still long enough to be caught!

Ardent crept. The locust fluttered. Over and over again the pattern repeated. Denny was drawn further from her desert home, into the vast rolling grass plains of Eldemore. Perhaps the locust had grown weary, or perhaps simply complacent, for it stopped. Ardent drew closer. She licked her chops, honed her gaze, and pounced -

Right into a scaly grey-green pillar.

The Grizzleback Rune looked up from its grazing with an expression of slow surprise on its face. It looked left, and right, and even swivelled around to see if its attacker was behind it. When it saw no threat, it lowered its head and moved off again, chewing methodically and ruminatively.

Denny shook her head in an attempt to clear it. She rolled from her back to her talons and swiped the dust and grass from her scales indignantly. Then she remembered how she'd ended up on the floor. With a click of alarm, she sped to where the locust had been -

And there it was, right where she had left it. Only, it was inside a gigantic talon-print, squished beyond recognition.

Hope faded to become dismay, to become despair. It quickly turned into rage. Chittering furiously, Ardent took to the air and flung herself at the locust- thief.

Slowly but surely, the Grizzleback Rune became aware of a persistent tapping against its side. It looked around, the picture of bewilderment. It watched the small red gem hammer against it for quite some time. It could not quite decide whether the belligerent little speck could be counted as a threat. Eventually, its patient, slow-moving mind deemed the little rune harmless.

Back to eating it went, oblivious the the red-hot ball of rage launching a full-scale attack upon its side.

It thought it best to let the speck have its fun. After all, it did seem to be so enjoying itself, and it wasn't as if it could do any harm.

She is a big eater. It isn't just guy dragons that can cram their mouths. She eats in a orderly and near fashion but, she eats fast. Weirdly enough though, she can't really grow bigger, despite the food she eats everyday.

Personality:
Playful, clumsy, loyal and protective – those are the four most important words to use when describing her.
Eaxedy is just as playful and lively as a human child. Games and playing tricks on others is the thing she loves to do the most during each and every day that passes by. Not even her food (i.e. the bugs) gets away without her playing with them before she finally eats them. Some may deem it as she’s somewhat like a bully by doing so, but that’s not the case with her. She’s one of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet – she would never ever dream about treating someone bad. All her games and tricks are just her way to make others laugh and see the light in every day they live.
Playing around where there are many stones that’s lying loose on the ground is often doomed to tell about an accident that may occur. Eaxedy likes to play in such places, and by that reason she can be deemed to be quite the clumsy little lady. She often trips when jumping from stone to stone or maybe even falls off a stone due to that it starts moving underneath her. Even so, it doesn’t stop her from playing in such places. She can also be deemed as quite clumsy due to the fact that she stumbles upon words when speaking to others. Sometimes she says the wrong words or doesn’t find the word she wants to use – so she ends up saying a whole lot of nonsense in order to try and describe what word she wants to use.

Eaxedy lived on her own for a very long time. Due to that she met neither humans nor other Runes; you could almost say that she was a loner. She befriended the bugs who were supposed to be her dinner; and especially one of them (a moth) was the only one she deemed as a friend and they stayed friends for a long time. Liv* (as Eaxedy came to name the moth) was most likely the only one up until today that ever experienced first hand how protective Eaxedy is, both about things she loves dearly and other living beings that she cares deeply about. Though, as one may understand, no matter how hard one may try to protect something, there could always be times when the effort one puts into something isn’t good enough and failure is the result. No matter how painful it can be to admit it, one can’t do everything and anything all alone.
The two of them were friends until the day Liv forever was lost due to another Rune who ate Liv for its dinner. It’s not hard to tell that the incident made Eaxedy really sad, because now she was on her own once again. Not to mention that she blamed herself for what had happened.
In time she managed to move past the sorrow; probably because she realized that Liv wasn’t lost forever after all. The two of them would always be together as a part of Liv still lives within Eaxedy’s heart.
Those few who may come to find her and stay long enough to gain her trust will learn that she in fact is loyal to those she deem worthy of her loyalty. She knows how it is and what it feels like to be all alone, so that’s one of the reasons to why she is such a loyal Rune. Some part of her soul always whisperers to her about never letting anyone else have to experience the loneliness on their own. If they must experience it – then she’ll be the one to experience it with them.
A happy smile and four glittering eyes that tells about the sorrows of a past is what you’ll come to know if you ever manage to come to know Eaxedy

*for you who wants to know; “Liv” is a Swedish word that means “Life” in English.

Why do you wish to have her:
I found some Runes in someone's signature and as the dragon lover that I am (and have been for many, many years); my reaction to them was "Oh my god! Those are so cute!". The person had links in their signature and as curious about them as I was, I found the main thread about the Runes thanks to that. After that I had been lurking through the threads I decided quite quickly that I simply adored each and every one of the Runes you guys have created this far. I was amazed by all the work you had put into the Runes as a species as well as all the work you put into each Rune as and individual. So it's from that I decided that I wanted one or two of my own one day in the future.

As to why I want this little one is because I love its colours as well as the markings on the wings - simple yet unique at the same time. I've always had a soft spot for red dragons... So that's probably another reason as to why I was caught in her cuteness.
The description about her also caught me, I can't really name anything specific that caught me the most - honestly, everything did. The part about her living in the desert or vast plains made me decide that I really wanted to fill out the form in order to give it a try to get her. "Why?" - you may ask. It's simple, one of the environments that I love the most is the one that can be found in deserts, I've always been interested in it and I'll probably always like it. I've also been quite much into the culture of ancient Egypt since I was five years old, so another thought I had was about her being a little Ruby who escaped from a tomb.
And at last, I may as well admit that I've been watching yu-gi-oh 5d's for the second time during the past few weeks... So because of that I thought something like "Yay, she can be like my own mini-crimson dragon!" when I saw her.

Where will you keep her:
I’m not sure if I’ll end up making any art threads here on CS, but if I do, I’ll most likely let her be there. One thing that’s certain is that I’ll let her be in my signature – maybe I’ll end up painting a picture of her along with my OC Nell (I think those two could get along quite nicely). I’ve already joined the group on dA, so I’ll end up posting pictures of her over there for sure. I’ll probably try to make a sculpture or two as well – after all, I’ve a whole lot of clay laying around and nothing to do with it – and I love to sew, so I might even end up making a plushie of her some day in the future.
...Oh, I almost forgot, I'm also thinking about letting her be in the picture when I come around to do a new ID for my profile on dA, it would be cute if she's there along with Fallen.

Yes please.

Any Quirks:
Instead of just eating bugs as a "proper lady", she has a habit of playing with the larger bugs too. She really loves to get a piggyback from large beetles - this even though she finds them quite disgusting with how they all look.

Other:
First of all, I truly hope that my English isn't too bad... I'm not fluent in English so my grammar and spelling isn't really the best. Let me know if there's something you don't understand and I'll try my best to edit and explain what I mean.
