I have been VERY EXTREMELY busy with school. Is it still available to claim him? I really don't want him to go up for adoption. I've messaged Shade too. I forgot that there was a date that it went up for adoption.

By continuing to take part in our community which includes posting on adoptables, participating in events as well as requesting batches - you are effected by the Feb. 1st rule changes. This batch was created in January, but the claim by date was added to the viscet for easy reference by Trompy (either from the beginning or on the 3rd when they edited it). The rules on claiming were also added to the rules at this point however and then announced a few days later in one big update on the Feb. 1st changes thread.

I realize it's easy to get busy, sashiyaki, but I also know it only takes about a minute to type "I will be claiming him/her. Be back with name & gender". You have 30 days to find the small amount of time to pm Shaded about keeping the batch, and then returning here to post "claiming. name & gender". I feel that while you have been busy a lot lately, you still found the time to comment almost immediately concerning this matter. Which makes me inclined to believe you also had the time to properly claim it had you have wanted to that badly. I'm sorry to hear you've been so busy, that is quite unfortunate. But you are still welcome to try out for the viscet / try to win it still, there is nothing preventing you from trying out for it. c:

The ocean? Eliza has always been obsessed with anything to do with water since she was a young age, whether it had any connection to the ocean itself or if it was simply water. The smell and sounds of the ocean are what bring her in, ever since she was a small one she would be seen splashing around in the water for hours and hours until she was called in, to her dismay.

The ocean, you may ask, is one of Chernoybl's favorite spots. It's a place of worship, peace and silence for him. The crashing waves are music to his ears. The soft warm sand beneath his paws is his therapy. It has become his friend, and his teacher. The ocean is one of the only places you can see Chernobyl happy and relaxed. Due to being almost 100% blind, the ocean is also a hazard to him. He's trained himself to listen to the sounds of the waves to make sure he doesn't get dangerous close to the sweeping waves. This is where the part of the ocean being his teacher comes it. It's helped him train on his hearing and focus in on the sounds, rather than trusting just his touch. Chernobyl would rather die at his favorite place in the world than die anywhere else. The ocean is a place where he can settle down, let out his thoughts in nonsense sentences or just be comforted by the warm sands and gentle waves tugging his fur. He's longed for one day that he can swim, but that day will wait. So, the ocean is Chernobyl's favorite place.

Answer: Although Barbs has a name connected to the sea and some of his markings resemble tentacles, he has never cared for the sea, or water in general, very much. Actually, you could even say, that he despises it.
Best to imagine Barbs' reaction towards water, is like a common house cat: Drinking water - of course. You need it to stay healthy anyway. Playing in a puddle with his paws, he actually likes doing this. Funny enough, he enjoys seeing others getting wet, as long as his fur stays dry. But he hates bigger spaces of water, especially the sea, because it's salty and gross - in his opinion anyway. It also is very creepy, considering how huge the ocean is and what weird, and dangerous, animals it inhabits. He hates the smell of fish and prefers sweet over salty and sand is just the worse! It's either way too hot and you burn your pawzies or it is wet and you find it in your fur even weeks later. So - what Barbs has to say about the sea? Nope, no thanks.

To Nocturne, the ocean is many things, something with so much symbolism. Nocturne see's the ocean as a reflection of himself, a vast unknown mass of potential and self. Nocturne also see's that it's a frontier of sorts that hasn't fully been explored which adds to it's untapped potential. He's heard stories and myths of the ocean and the creatures that dwell within it. It is a wall or barricades of sorts that keeps the land masses apart from each other. A place where sailors can seek adventure, where pirates can seek adventure and plunder, where tourists can travel and cruise. It is a way to travel with it's own dangers if not through air and transport goods. It is a home to many creatures and hides many beautiful sights and treasures. It is a graveyard from unfortunate times of the past but a place where legends and myths are born and where food can be found. To him, it is a place of sanctuary for a peace of mind and a time where he can be alone when times are hard. A place where he can find inspiration and see signs of encouragement or that push he really needed.

The ocean can be a beautiful place, but walking alongside the shore with her right ear to the crashing waves, it can still be a dangerous place for Ianthina. Distant from the world, sometimes mesmerized, unable to feel the seaweed beneath her foes, lost in the thoughts that noone will ever get a chance to hear, locked away in a mind with no voice. Gathering shells and viewing the subtle colors and memorizing the textures is something she can actually do on the beach, since it is not safe for someone who may not hear a warning call and can't scream for help to wade in the water alone, because Ianthina would be alone at the beach. Drawing pictures in the sand would be something she would be happy to do also. Ianthina does enjoy being at beach a lot, and thinks the ocean is very pretty, well, at least from afar. She tends to be a very brave viscet, but is actually terrified of the ocean itself.

Sei enjoys the broad sea but only at certain times. When storms roll or when the sun is beating down on him, he tends to hide away into the cozy underbrush. The perfect time for him is where the waters are calm and placid along with the cool cover of night. Despite the chilly wind, Sei is kept warm by the large woven quilt of the tiny silk threads between stars. A few months ago he had found an abandoned surfboard laying across the beach, he had taken it out on the water far away from land.. his experience was amazing. If he had closed his eyes for long enough he could practically feel the presence of the sky and sea all around embracing him.
Sie also has hope that he will be found by his parents. He had always stayed in the same place because they had left him by the coastline and hopefully they will find him once more by the coastline. Sie remembers bits and pieces of his parents like his dad's hair and his mom's right eye, hopefully one day the water that raised him will reunite him with his parents.

I absolutely fell in love with the ocean when I was a young viscet. The ocean is magical and I think this is why I have a great love for it. When I’m looking at the ocean I feel both the sense of security and the drive to challenge myself. I cannot quite explain it, My first dive was just breath taking, I posted no less than thirty hammerhead sharks, followed by a swarm of sixty golden rays. There were green sea turtles, moray eels, schools of reef fish, nudibranchs, and a spotted eagle ray trailed by two parrot fish catching the remnants of its coral buffet. It was just an amazing site to see. I could never recreate it if I had to it was a once time thing to capture. There’s something about water that draws and fascinates me. I could hearing it, smelling it in the air, playing in it, walking next to it, painting it, surfing, swimming or fishing in it, writing about it, photographing it, and creating lasting memories along its edge, and never get tired of it. It's my home and I have and will always enjoy it.
