Personality

Riptide is a lover of arts ; a virtuoso if you will. She has always seen the world through the musical arts rather than normal perspective, her desire to entertain the masses burning within as the years passed. She is a lover of all genres, though at times rap can be a bit annoying to her. She can usually be found listening to some form of music, be it through her ipod or street performers. She prefers live music though in comparison to the recorded version, so she usually tries to attend every concert she can.

She is also a bit hot-headed and can be stubborn at times, which causes issues in the family from time to time. She mainly plays the violin for now, and when she starts, it an be hard to get her to stop. She will not tolerate any interruptions and is quick to grow impatient with others. In the end, she's rather difficult when it comes to being social and prefers to be surrounded by her musical instruments rather than other simas.

Despite her rather negative and unappealing social life, Riptide is actually a decent person on the inside. If you're lucky enough to be let close enough, she'll generally enjoying speaking with you when she's not preoccupied with music. Outside of music, she is fairly athletic and enjoys a run every morning. She actually has no problem running with other simas as well provided they cna keep up with her fast pace.

Relationships

Euphrates

Riptide is very tolerant with her grandfather, as his rather shy outlook on life is appealing to her. She trusts him to keep his distance when she is otherwise involved with music, but enjoys his company from time to time. His shyness is a bit awkward at times between the two of them, as she is not really as shy as much as she is impatient with people who interrupt her. Despite this, she has a rather decent relationship with her grandfather and knows he is someone she can trust to respect her decisions.

Sarifia

For Riptide, Sarifia can be exhausting at times. While her pleasant personality is something nice every once and a while, Riptide gets easily frustrated with her and can snap easily. Not only that, but the mischievousness side of her really runs Riptide's temper ablaze. In the end, while riptide does respect her as an elder, her personality is generally too much for her lack of patience to bear and she is quick to snap at Sarifia.

Amethyst

Their relationship is somewhat neutral, as she does not bother Riptide or really impress her. Her kind nature is rather helpful at times, but for the mot part Riptide tends to avoid her for personal reasons. Riptide really does have a limit on all the helpful and kind simas, so she generally likes to keep distant with them for th3 most part. She does love her, but prefers to keep her distance so she doesn't snap.

Viola

Riptide simply adores her mother and enjoys her presence whenever they can get together. Their shared love of music really boosts their connection, as Riptide feels her mother is someone she can relate to more than anyone else. Her shy nature is also something Riptide appreciates, knowing she can easily be alone with her without worrying about anybody else being invited. Their relationship is very strong and Riptide hopes it continues that way.

Herb

Riptide enjoys Herb presence, as she remains quiet during practice and thus is someone Riptide can appreciate at any time. Her love for nature is also something Riptide can somewhat relate to, though she really does prefer the inside to the outdoors any time. She can totally see herself hanging out with the other outside somewhere or playing her violin in herb's presence without any issues.

Raiden

Riptide barely knows Raiden, so their relationship is pretty nonexistent. She is aware of their family ties, but she has yet to meet him and thus has no opinions on him whatsoever.

Flynn

Riptide is very appreciative of her father, and while not as close like she is with her mother, still enjoys his presence. She is grateful for his skills in raising her well and can feel very guilty when she snaps at him from time to time. She enjoys showing off her music to her father, though she knows he will not really understand the emotion behind it like her mother. Despite this, she enjoys her father and would not have anybody else.

Electro

Electro and Riptide have a very hard time getting along, as Riptide grows impatient with his constant moving and his short-temper. Both of them share the short-temper trait, which can cause some ugly fights between them. Riptide only like shim when he is sitting down to read, but other than that, cannot stand his presence. She does not hate him necessarily; he just gets on her nerves fast.

Lyra and Meklo

Riptide has not interacted with them really much at all, and like Raiden, has no opinion on them whatsoever.

Name: Saraph - meaning "burning one"

At first glance, Saraph seems to be the ultimate 'cool kit'. He always seems to be talking up some girl, or attempting some sort of impressive trick on his skateboard. He's a fairly popular kit, he's got quite a few friends. For as young as he is, he's got quite a few piercings, yet another 'cool kit' thing. Saraph doesn't really pay attention to rules or regulations, and is almost always late, no matter how important something is. He's a little bit of a rebel, always trying to get into some kind of trouble. The tricks and trouble that he gets into is most often very spontaneous, he hardly ever plans these things out, just does them on a whim. He doesn't like rules or planning, or even surprises, strangely enough. If someone gives him a surprise, the most he'll get is angry. He's very unexcitable, which is one of the reasons he doesn't like surprises. There's hardly anything on the planet that will get Saraph excited, and not many simas know even a single one of those things. Along with everything else, Saraph is perceived as very adventurous, with an extraordinarily short attention span. He's always seeking something to explore or discover, and gets bored with consecutive things. It's always got to be something new and different, or he just doesn't care to explore it. In all, Saraph comes across as a fairly arrogant kit who holds an air of importance and adventure, with a spontaneous attitude.
But of course, assumptions aren't always correct. There's more to a sima than first impressions. On the inside, concealed under this mask that never comes down, is Saraph's true nature. He puts on an act around friends and family to be perceived as the cool kit that everyone laughs at and looks up to, but in reality, he's a bit of a softie. He's kind of an emotional wreck, and cries quite a bit when he's by himself or can't be seen. He's unconfident and unsure of himself, and he judges everything that he does. Because of his insecurities, he's a perfectionist, he always has to get things exactly right before he can give up on them. On top of his insecurities, he's truly very compassionate and understanding. He secretly wishes that he could save every stray animal he sees and to comfort anyone who's upset. He's empathetic and sympathizes with almost everyone, even though he doesn't show it, and he probably never will. Only those who are extraordinarily close to him can see past the wall that Saraph puts up, very few have seen his soft side, and very few ever will.
**Please note that if I win him, these insecurities and the act that he puts on will most likely only be a phase that he will grow out of eventually. He won't be such a crybaby when he's older, and he'll be much more compassionate and understanding**

Viola: Saraph genuinely enjoys his mother's company, and the music she plays is beautiful. However, Saraph believes that Viola dislikes his Spontaneous and rebellious attitude, though he can't be certain. He sometimes slips up around her and actually lets a bit of his soft side show because of course, she's his mother. She's got to see it sometime or another, but he always makes sure to cover it up somehow, and hope that it isn't too obvious. If Viola knew, she would surely give him some sort of talking to, and he didn't want that. Viola probably already knows, of course, but Saraph's innocent little mind has yet to figure that out.
Flynn: Flynn is someone that Saraph can come to for his secrets. No, he hasn't told his father about the act he puts on, though he does suspect that Flynn already knows. Saraph loves his father more than anyone in the world, and the two of them bond over many things. They have fun and get in trouble together on a daily basis, and genuinely have a good time. Little Saraph takes after his father quite a bit, and when he's hanging with his dad, his softer side shows more than normal. Flynn is like a role-model for Saraph, he looks up to him quite a bit.
Electro: Electro's mind control powers are unnerving to Saraph. He usually avoids his older brother as much as possible so that there's little chance for him to rub him the wrong way or get on his nerves. In the back of his mind he knows that Electro wouldn't use his powers to harm his family, but he still doesn't want to take any chances. Even despite his attempt to avoid Electro, when they are together, they don't get along very well. Saraph is somewhat intimidated by Electro, and he worries about Electro outshining him. But in the end, they are brothers and they love each other.
Lyra & Meklo: The twins don't leave too much of an impression on Saraph. They're both so quiet and reserved that sometimes he hardly even notices them. He is somewhat intrigued by them, though. Twins are somewhat of an interesting concept to little Saraph in general, and because they're both so quiet, he doesn't know as much about them as he does the rest of his family. The twins and Saraph are kind of distant, and don't talk to each other very much.
Euphrates: Saraph loves that his grandfather wouldn't hurt anything, and his softer nature makes him feel better about himself. When Saraph sees Euphrates, it makes him think that maybe being a little bit kinder isn't a bad thing, because it certainly doesn't seem that way when he does it. Other than his father, Euphrates is really someone for Saraph to look up to and have fun with, though they don't go on quite as many adventures because of Euphrate's shy and laid-back attitude. Euphrates' shyness sometimes gets on Saraph's nerves, just because he'd rather go out with friends, but he understands that it isn't really something he can control.
Sarifia: Saraph enjoys his grandmother's mischievous attitude, and often times likes to play tricks with her. He really enjoys the company of Sarifia, but he doesn't understand how she can be so happy all the time. He could probably learn a lesson or two about optimism from her, seeing as he's pretty much a pessimist, even when he's around her and her happy, optimistic attitude.
Herb: Saraph loves to hang out with Herb and to learn about different plants and animals, though he doesn't want his friends to know that he enjoys science related things, so he tries to keep their outings just between them. He looks up to his aunt's bravery, and wishes that he could be just as brave as she is some day, maybe even enough to stick up for what he believes in. He doesn't really mind her shyness as much as Euphrates' either, because he enjoys doing things with Herb that don't involve many others.
Diavolo: Though she's an adult, Diavolo is one of Saraph's friends. They play pranks on each other all the time, though Diavolo usually wins the prank wars. He wouldn't trust her with anything in a million years, despite all the things he says to her anyways. In secret, he doesn't really enjoy her company all that much, and absolutely despises their prank wars, but she helps him give off the appearance of a rebel, so he hangs with her quite often.
Caspian: Caspian is Saraph's best friend. He'll tell Caspian absolutely everything, including that he's put on a sort of 'act' around everyone. When him and Caspian are alone, Saraph will be himself to the furthest extent than he will with anyone else. He goes to Caspian for support, comfort, or just when he wants to hang out and have fun. Saraph and Caspian will go on adventures or play different games together all the time, and just in general they enjoy each other's company.

'Go on, I dare you! What are you, a fraidy cat? Don't be a wimp, Saraph!' Their words ran through his head as he walked up to the creepy house that his friends had dared him to enter. He wasn't the biggest fan of scary places, but he didn't want his friends to think he wasn't brave enough, so there he was, about to knock on the door of one of the scariest places he had ever seen. And so he knocked. Once. Twice. Three times. But nobody answered. "Nobody's here!" Saraph yelled behind him to his friends that were waiting on the lawn. "Well then go inside!" They yelled back. And so he did. Slowly, he opened the creaky door, and slowly he walked inside. He walked through cobwebs and clouds of dust, through the foyer and into the formal living room. So far, everything was fine. There weren't any ghosts or scary looking people, he hadn't broken through the floor, or fallen to his death. All rational fears, really; If you're just a kit, that is. But then he heard something, something soft and distant, but it was definitely in the house, and it was obviously something he should worry about. "Who's there?" He called out, hoping that whatever it was would show itself and surrender, even if the odds of that were highly unlikely. But much to Saraph's dismay, nothing happened. The house was completely silent again, and nobody came out of hiding, so he continued his journey through the seemingly abandoned house. He walked over to a couch that was sitting in a corner of the living room, and it was covered in dust and rat droppings. "Disgusting," Saraph said under his breath before coughing from all the dust. He continued on. He walked into the kitchen, explored around a bit, but then he heard the noise again, louder this time. It sounded like hissing, loud, dangerous hissing. So, gathering up as much confidence as he could muster, Saraph walked in the direction of the sound; a dumb decision, really. But if he were to have told his friends about the hissing, and not the cause of it, they would just call him a wimp again. And that's not what he wanted. So on he went, down the hallway and up the mostly broken stairs, which he wasn't too fond of, and was worried about falling off of them the entire time. But he kept following the noise, down yet another hallway and into a room which he assumed used to be a bedroom. And right there was the source of the noise; another sima spray painting symbols on the wall.
Saraph sighed loudly from relief, and a little bit of sheepishness. Of course it wouldn't be some giant snake monster that was coming to eat him, it was just another sima. However, he still wasn't positive that this sima was friendly, and now this guy knew that he was there. The other guy turned around, looking slightly startled to see a kit behind him. "Um... hi?" Saraph said quietly, hoping this guy wasn't planning on hurting him. "Oh, hey." The sima said, crouching down to be closer to Saraph's height. "I'm Akia, what's your name?" So this guy wasn't super evil, at least, it didn't seem like it. Akia had a smile on his face and blue paint covering his paws, and his voice was soft and warm. "I'm Saraph."
"Well Saraph, can I ask you a question?"
He nodded.
"What's a little kit like you doing in such a creepy looking building?"
"My friends dared me to come. They said I'd be a fraidy cat if I didn't."
"Well that's not very nice, is it?"
He shook his head this time, then shrugged. "I guess not."
Akia stood up again and walked over to his paint cans. "Well then, I guess we'll have to do something about that, won't we?" He asked, "What do you think about playing a little bit of a prank on them?" He smiled and turned back around towards Saraph, and in his hands was his can of red paint, and the leg of a broken chair. Saraph smiled, "I think that's a great idea!"

Saraph ran from the house, covered in red paint, with the wooden chair leg stuck to his arm, and he screamed at the top of his lungs, then collapsed to the ground by the feet of his friends. They all screamed as well, and backed up a few feet. "Saraph?" One of them said hesitantly, questioningly. But he didn't move. "He's passed out, doofus, someone hurt him in there." A few of them chickened out and ran off, too afraid that whatever was in the house would get them next. Saraph tried hard not to laugh as he heard his friends debating on what to do, and then they screamed again as Akia ran out the door. And that's when the too of them couldn't take it any more, and they burst into laughter, resulting in confused looks spread across the kits' faces. Some of them looked angry too, because they realized it was a prank. "What was that for?" One of them asked, but Saraph didn't answer. All he said was, "Who's the fraidy cat now?" And he stood up, thanked Akia, and walked home.

Oh, where do I even begin? For one, this kit is absolutely stunning. His pattern is so eye-catching; it isn't one that's easily forgotten, and It's really fun to draw. I also thought that the idea of having a kit in someone else's sima family would be interesting, and that it'd be fun to role-play and write out different family relationships, as well as bring them to life. Another reason for trying out for this guy, is that I love creating characters, it's one of my favorite pastimes, but this guy, he holds something unique to him, a bit of a challenge. His looks are so intriguing and they made me think of this fascinating character that would be difficult to fully develop, but I knew that it'd be worth it when I finished, especially if I won him. This character that I see him as is one that'll always be developing in new, unique ways. The idea of having him as my own to develop even further is such an exciting one, and I hope that what I've written here is enough to show you just how much I'll love and care for this boy.
