when you're ready to get started with spirit tails, you'll first need a founder. a founder can be obtained on the founder thread. all you have to do is create them! your founder can have one uncommon trait, and any common traits. traits are listed below, so be sure to look them over before you make your founder.

after you've finished creating your spirit tail, you'll leave a post on the founder thread, in order to inform the staff that they are ready to be approved. once a staff member has approved your founder, your two weeks to make a thread or storage area for your haunting.

a haunting is a group of spirit tails, and your haunting can be set up in any manner you wish, like a warrior clan, an anarchy, really anything you'd like to try out. just remember to keep everything cs-safe!

if you would like to hire someone else to make your founder, or would like to make a founder for someone else, that's alright, just make sure it's stated who the founder is for on the post!

after you have a founder and a thread (or alternative method of storage such as toyhouse or a weebly website) you can proceed to the leveling thread and work on leveling up your haunting!

only after you've leveled up can you start to adopt lone spirit tails!


when you're ready to adopt more spirit tails, there are several ways you can do so.

you can follow the assigned task of adoptables (such as raffles, story or art prompts, etc) and win them that way, you can purchase a custom when an artist is open to doing so, you can buy an myo ticket from the shop, you can adopt from the pound, or you can breed them in the nursery.

let's go a little more in-depth on each of these shall we?

adopts will be posted by artists here on the main thread. they'll cost no c$, but they will have some sort of competition in order to win them. competitions are varied, and every competition may not be right for every user. when the competition ends (on a date set by the artist of the adopt) a winner will be chosen! that winner will be able to then add the spirit tail to their haunting.

adopts may not be adopted as founders. you must make your founder either for yourself, or have someone else make them for you, but it is not the duty of artists to make founders.

customs will be opened by artists on occasion, and are the way artists make their money here so to speak. customs can be purchased for c$, pets, or other methods that have been pre-approved by me (stormt4lon), the artist, and the person buying the custom. customs will be purchased and made here on the main thread.

myo's can be made after purchase of a ticket from the shop, or as a prize in the mission board, and can only be made on the myo thread. myo tickets are different prices based on the traits they allow your spirit tail to have. you can purchase the myo but have someone else draw it, if you so desire. simply make sure all the details are worked out at the time of purchase AND use of the myo ticket!

the pound is a place where spirit tails are re-adopted. if a spirit tail is reclaimed, whether because the user failed to make their haunting in time, or because they donated the spirit tail to the pound, or because they were banned from spirit tails, they go to the pound.

spirit tails in the pound have two ways they can be adopted. you can write something for the prompt in the pound (changes monthly). or you can purchase them with c$.

the nursery is a place where you can breed two spirit tails together. in order to do this, there is a bi-monthly prompt that must be filled out, and you must either own both the spirit tails you want bred, or come to an agreement with another user and show that you have permission to use their spirit tail in a breeding!

this is a guide to the rarities of spirit tails. if a spirit tail has so much as a single trait from a list, they belong to that rarity. that is why each rarity is simply an expanded list of the rarity above it!

common spirit tails are the ones you will see the most often. they are your everyday spirit tail.

uncommon spirit tails are still seen quite often, though perhaps just a bit rarer than commons
