grifflets are a closed species, you cannot make your own designs unless you're an accepted artist for the species
these will be free adopts for the most part but you will be able to pay a set price for a custom at a later time once everything else is figured out
trait rarity:
dominant traits (common)

none-dominant traits (uncommon)
-whiskers
-front legs bird and hind legs cat
-bigger beak
-hairdo (can only have short ones)
unusual traits (rare)
-rare/extinct species use
-four legs cat/bird
-bird and cat tail
-no ears (bird ear holes)
-Slime parts*
strange traits (unique)
These traits are mixed in due to certain ingredients in the failed spells, they are always different and can range from small things like extra eyes and fish scales to big things like entire extra limbs and parts of mythological beasts like the phoenix bird.
*parts of the body have a slimy substance instead of flesh, showing bones and possibly parts of organs, this is only possible in 1st gen as it's a side effect from the creation process. The slime is a separate creature from the grifflet but they have become codependent, the grifflet protects the slime while the slime keeps their body intact. The grifflet is not suffering from this at all and, let's be honest, it looks really cool.

Grifflets are a cat / bird hybrid often created by mistake when witches use the wrong ingredients for spells, specifically using the wrong kinds of bones in creation or combination spells. they can be made on purpose but this is rarely the case.
grifflets come in a range of shapes and sizes as they can be created from any types of bird/feline combination as long as they are relatively close in size, they can be anywhere from a robin/small housecat combo to an
Ostrich/lion combo. grifflets are carnivorous but often friendly towards humans, most grifflets can't fly due to their wings being too small relative to body size but there are exceptions.
