But what is an Irith Dragon?

Irith Dragons are quick, agile and clever creature. They have six eyes, three on each side of their head, big, rounded ears and a long, flexible tail used as both an arm and a whip. They have two toes on their hind feet and two on their front feet aswell as a small extra thumb. They have a slim build, perfect for running through crowded, overgrown forests. Both male and female dragons begins to grow a mane when they reach adulthood, but only the males get hair on their bellies. Irith Dragon males grow larger than the females, and their mane is longer, useful to make them look larger than they really are. The mane is soft as silk, and the females often let their offspring use their mane as a pillow when they are sleeping. Irith Dragons usually grow about as big as a great dane, sometimes big as a cow.

Irith Dragons were first found in the deep forests of Shattrathk. Nobody really knew what they were or where did they come from. The majority said they would be unable to tame, befriend or understand. They were described as dangerous, wild beasts. Even mothers would use their infamous name to scare children whenever they misbehaved. There was, however, a group of people led by two mad scientists known under the nicknames Piratepanda and Sandwitch who tried taming those creatures upon hearing it was impossible. Their efforts seemed to be in vain for countless years and they were constantly laughed at...

Until they actually succeeded.

Strikes And Bans

When you adopt an Irith Dragon You Agree to these Terms.
Whenever you break a rule, you get a strike. If you accumulate 3 strikes, you're banned
from the species and your dragons will be put up for adoption.

≫ The adoption limit is currently 5 dragons per account.

≫ Moderators are allowed to own 7 dragons and may either make or ask for a custom.
≫ Artists are allowed to own 7 dragons and may either make or ask for a custom.
≫ Owners are free from the adoption limit.
≫ Do not ask for a custom dragon/to be an artist/mod/etc.

≫ The only way to earn a custom dragon (if you're not a part of the staff) is to win one.
≫ Want to be an artist? Keep your eyes open for an artist competition.
≫ Want to be a moderator? If we ever need more, we'll open applications.
≫ Please do not spam the thread.

≫ Commenting the species, marking the thread or congratulating new artists is not considered spamming.
≫ Chatting not connected to the thread/species is considered spamming.
≫ If you have any suggestions, please PM them to me!
≫ Do not whine or complain about not getting a dragon you tried out for.

≫ If you feel the judging was exceptionally unfair, PM either the artist or me.
≫ You are not allowed to change the design of your adopted dragon.

≫ This means no hair dyeing whether it's temporary or not.
≫ You are, however, free to add as many accessories as you wish.

≫ ABOUT COLORATION

≫ Irith Dragons are usually seen with a dark base color. It probably makes it easier for them to hide in the dark forest. While some Iriths do have a light base color, it's considered to be uncommon.
≫ Some dragons are naturally born with differently colored eyes. It's a rare syndrome called Traffic Light Eye Syndrome (TLES).
≫ Some dragons are naturally born with multicolored mane. It's an uncommon syndrome called Paint Bucket Accident Syndrome (PBAS).
≫ ABOUT BREEDING

≫ Only male x female breedings are allowed. It works this way in real life too, doesn't it?
≫ The litter can consist of up to 2 baby dragons.
≫ The dragon has to be an adult for at least 2 months before it's allowed to breed. If it was adopted as an adult, you have to wait 2 months after adopting.
≫ You have to wait one week before breeding your dragon again.
≫ Dragons related to each other cannot be bred.
≫ ABOUT AGING

≫ It takes 2 months for an Irith Dragon to grow to the next stage - so it takes 2 months for a baby to become a teen, another 2 months for a teen to become an adult.
≫ Aging can be done by you, by an artist or by whoever you ask - if they agree, that is.
