welcome to the lizard dogs adopts!

but first, what is exactly a lizard dog, you might be asking?

a "canis reptilius", commonly known as lizard dog, is a hybrid of various types of lizards and dogs:
- lizard dogs have a basic dog shape, short scruffy fur all around the body, large ears, and a overall thin, lean body structure
- lizard aspects are represented by lizard tails and hind legs (a mix of dog and lizard structure)
- they have patches of scales along the body, commonly on the bridge of the nose, cheeks, hind legs, and lower abdomen
- they show to have a superior intelligence and quite developed personalities





lizard dogs come with different types of tails:
• generic lizard tails are the most common out of the tail variations
• chameleon tails represent an uncommon tail variation
• gecko tails are rarely found due to the tail being very thick and heavy






average color for a lizard dog varies widely, but mainly pertains to natural dog markings with the tail, scales and flesh being colorful: this is not mandatory, but commonly seen. there are no standard colors, but it is rare for a lizard dog to be dark colored on the scales and fur, or white on the scales. markings vary and include, but are not limited to, spots, stripes, spotches or any unnatural marking variation.

adult size - border collie

all lizard dogs up for adoption are adults
their sizes may vary, but it is rare to see giant/nane lizard dogs

what do lizard dogs eat?
lizard dogs eat almost anything from fruits, vegetables, meat, small animals, insects,
and even human food like noodles, small amounts of candy, breads, and even pizza.

are there any LGBTQ+ lizard dogs?
yeah, sure! lizard dogs have a pretty complicated society, and none of them gets discriminated for their gender/sexuality.

how long do lizard dogs live?
lizard dogs live 30-40 years, the oldest actually being documented to live 85 years old.
they age twice the average year of humans (a 4 year old lizard dog is equivalent to a 2 year old child).

can i make my lizard dog a baby?
unless your lizard dog is a pps (permanente puppy syndrome), no: they will age normally.
all lizard dogs on the main thread are at least 10 years old (20 in lizard dog years), while nursery puppies will be
transferred on the adult lines once they're fully grown; for further information please refer to the nursery thread.

can I get a custom lizard dog?
no, unfortunately: custom lizard dogs are only given out by me and a few other people if i give them permission, only on special occasions. official artists are allowed to make one custom (more if they show to be particularly active, along with other staff members)

can I become an artist, please?

is it possible to gift a lizard dog?
it is, but first ask me. link me the lizard dog along with the new owner, and wait for my authorization.

bans & warnings are given out in case of violation to rules: after three warnings, you get a temporary ban.
temporary bans last for one/three weeks, while definite bans are reserved to serious situations (i.e. stealing a lizard dog).
