What is a Pavinox?
A Pavinox is a species of bird that strongly resembles the hybrid of a peacock and a flamingo. They are generally found in shallow waters; commonly near secluded waterholes or marshlands, hidden from view of dangerous predators, such as cheetahs and hyenas. They prey on abundances of fresh small-medium fish, as well as insects, bugs and other small sea critters. These hybrids are large birds that stands to around 120-160 centimetres (47.3-63 inches) when fully grown. However they have little flying capability and can only fly low, short distances. The males are generally larger than females, have brighter coloured feathers and display a more vibrant tail.

About a Pavinox
Eyes
All Pavinoxes have lightly coloured eyes. They are usually bright, with yellow, red and orange being the most common. However, lighter shades of other colours have also been spotted. This physiological adaptation allows the birds to warn off predators.
Crest
The Pavinox's crest is similar to that of a peacock. Their crown colours always matches the colours of their tails. These crests are used for communication and play an important role in the mating process of these magnificent birds.
Chest fluff
All Pavinos have a fluffy chest. These feathers and fur are often a shade of colour off from the rest of the body. The reason why they have this strange feature still remains undetermined.
Mutations
Like most species, mutations in the Pavinoxes are highly unlikely, but not impossible. Generally, mutations such as extra (or the absence of) hair, feathers or fur are the most 'common' of mutations. However, crest mutations and extra body parts may also be possible. There is an endless list of possibilities, so we will just have to wait and see.

Male and females
The difference between a male and a female Pavinox can be distinguished by their size, colour and eye lashes. A female Pavinox is smaller in size (120cm-140cm) and have much more defined eye lashes. This is for the purpose of attracting a male mate. A male Pavinox is much larger in size (140cm-160cm) with shorter, stubbier eye lashes designed to only protect the eye. Males of this breed are often more vibrant and colourful than females.
