The Silver Legacy Horse Association was created in the 1960s a few years after the breed was created. The Silver Legacy breed originates from the original T.V. series Long Ranger’s horse Silver and got famous a few years after the t.v. show ended. One of the famous horse’s many off spring was bred to an Akhal-Teke. The gene pool kept being mixed with other breeds like Arabians and Saddlebreds till finally the Silver Legacy was created. The breed was created to have the long slim look of the Akhal-Teke, endurance of an Arabian, and the gait of Tennessee Walkers and Saddlebreds.

Breed Characteristics:
Silver Legacy horses can stand between 15-17 hh. They can come in all sorts of colors with all sorts of markings; excluding brindles and chimerics. Their eye colors can be brown, blue , hazel, honey, amber, or green. They have a slim back, long legs, thin neck, and a roman nose. Depending on Sire some may not have a mane. It is uncommon to see a stallion with a mane and rare to see a mare without a mane. Though they are not strictly a gaited horse breed the breed has a majority of gaited horses. The horses that have been known to be gaited can be seen with rack, stepping pace, fox-trot, single-foot that are a result from their Tennessee Walker blood. The best in show horse is seen with a long to the ground tails, a parked pose, and a high held head.

Solids, pintos, chubari spots, pangare, ticking

Uncommon:
Sorrels, buckskins, palominos, cremellos, silver/flaxen
Appaloosa, grease spots, sooty, rabicano, bloodmark

Rares:
Duns, Grulla, any sort of champagnes, perlinos
Pintaloosas, lacing, bird catcher spots, glusta plume, dapple

Ultra Rare:
Manchando

Breed Personality:
Keep in mind that each horse varies in temperament and personality no horse is the same. The overall personalities in Silver Legacy are brave, loyal, and fierce horses. They are built with speed in them and most do well with challenges. With the mixture of Akhal Teke, Arabian, and Tennessee Walker in their blood these horses are excellent for endurance racing along with jumping, cross country, and dressage. These horses are animals for speed and long distance.

Why become a member?
When the Silver Legacy Horse Association first started it was a rule to register as a member. Rules have now been changed to where it is not required to be a member. But it is recommended. Membership to the association allows owners and non-owners opportunities that non-members don't get.

Whats it mean to be a member?
Members get the opportunity to competitions that will be held here in the future. These competitions may include things such as the artist competition and other events such as customs. Members will also be aloud to have tack added to their horses.

Membership Registration:
A forum below will be provided so you may register. Each Silver Legacy that is bred will have its own number to help keep tags on the breeds growth. For a brand please just use numbers and letters that can be placed in front of the horse's name. Example; OCR King of Athens.
