This suspicious factory was founded on some gloomy night some eons ago by some questionable characters.
Its public function was colored ink production (ironic considering the monochrome grey walls).
There is definitely more to this place that meets the eye.
It has long been speculated that genetic experimentation involving radioactive pigments were conducted in this facility.
No solid evidence has been discovered yet, but the creatures in TIF...
Well they don't look like anything
I've ever seen.

Inklings were named partly because of their ink factory environment
and partly because they seem to be a hint to the mystery behind TIF.
Investigators have no leads yet, but we will be keeping you posted.

Inklings are known to be the workers of the factory.
They are very knowledgeable in the procedures of handling and mixing inks precisely.
Each Inkling is born white.
Throughout its life, as it works with the factory ink, its fur is gradually dyed.
For this reason, all inklings are colorful.

While specifics of the breeding process have yet to be determined, inklings are known to
hatch from eggs.

Like newborn inklings, the eggs are pure white.
Inklings keep their eggshells after they hatch and decorate them as they themselves are dyed.

They are subject to an extremely strict hierarchy that appears to be
based on the color of ink that they manage.
At the top of the metaphorical foodchain are inklings that manage
primary colors

These inklings tend to be more decorated than others and appear in far fewer numbers.
The more commonly encountered inklings are those handling
secondary color inks

These inklings have little to no added decoration and appear to be the majority of the population

In accordance with your role as a host family/parent, it is important that you expose inklings to many different sights.
This can be done by placing your adopted inklings in your signature.
Just being able to leave that dingy old factory will make the inklings incredibly happy.
